This garden was an unexpected surprise! I visited Findhorn and happened to be walking past, and a local member who walking me around suddenly said something about Cornelia having a nice garden! We spoke to Cornelia, and when I turned the corner and saw her garden I knew it had to be featured! Thank you so much to Cornelia for allowing me to film with no notice, and being a fan of this channel beforehand! I only had 2 hours left before I had to make a trip down to the Lake District that same afternoon so it was all systems go! I really hope you are as inspired as I am with this garden, and thanks to my colleague Charlie for a fantastic job with the editing!😀

Fantastic. After reading a book on Findhorn, I visited there in 1995 while hiking around Scotland. What a wonderful place (and lovely nature spirits).

Beautiful, I have suffered extensively with depression through my 20s and early 30s and with help I have come to realise recently that its not depression at all, I am just extremely unhappy with many parts of society and i have been so disconnected from a more natural way of life that it was making me ill. What Cornelia has achieved is what I am aspiring to do, I'm a long way off but I will get there or die trying.

    • @shinsanhughes629

Steve, I believe that "being disconnected from the more natural way of life" along with the way we see the direction the world is currently taking, is probably the root cause of many people's depression. I sure hope that what you are aspiring to do works out well - and it should if it involves gardening and working towards self reliance - and that you won't "die trying." Cheers mate, Shin.

The second you shut yourself off from the outside world (society) and focus on what you want to achieve for self (purpose) your feelings will dissipate in time as you start to reconnect with nature (gaia) and she will direct you the more you put the time in x

agreed. many many going through this experience, the news won't show it but there's a revolution of folks returning to more natural ways of being, what a beautiful thing to be apart of. it's going to make for a better world, and happier minds, so cheers to that!

Look to Jesus. I felt the same as you, depressed with the state of the world but then I met some lovely people telling me about relationship with God was what it was all about. They told me Jesus was alive and I didn't know if it was true but I knew I had to seek the TRUTH and see if I could find a personal relationship with Him... Wow! Wasn't that the beginning of a whole new discovery that changed EVERYTHING! if you're looking for hope and meaning, peace love and joy- look for Jesus and find He is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE !!! 💗💗💗

My three year old never ate cucumbers, i offered them almost daily and she always refused...until i started growing them. She got such joy from picking them off the vine and eating them in the garden! So now if I am not growing cucumbers, i will go and hide store bought cucumbers in the veggie patch and she usually finds them and gets super excited and eats them on the spot!

What a beautiful attitude she has! When a health concern made it difficult to garden, instead of giving up she developed a better way to garden. And, she supplements the beds with good quality compost, that "allows me to feed the ground as it feeds me."

Huw, another beautiful garden that you can tell has been put together over the years. I have noticed that each person you have highlighted in the videos have such a peace about them and it obviously comes from gardening. So many people think the 'work' of gardening is just too much and it's difficult to explain the joy and peace that it can bring to your daily schedule. I appreciated seeing the raised beds and I am at a point where I need to think about that addition to our gardens after having four back surgeries and dealing with Axial Spondyloarthritis. There is always something to learn from your videos, Huw! Happy for you and proud of you for all that you are able to accomplish. Keep following your heart in all you do!

I can't tell you how much I love these videos. You guys do such a wonderful job letting the gardeners talk for themselves, and editing yourself out. It's really like being there. And I can't agree more that harvesting your own food is truly a luxury. The first time I harvested my own garden produce I was HOOKED. I just feel so lucky to have food growing right outside my door; no grocery stores, no plastic bags, no limp kale and slimy salad greens, just me and my bowl full of dinner.

What a lovely gardener! I am much like her, 57 years old, I have primarily an edible garden with flowers designed to best benefit my garden as either attractors of beneficial insects or as deterrent for the not beneficial ones. I have turned a small suburban yard into a garden which has brought me so much joy growing organic herbs, fruits and veggies. I have now three raised 30 inch high beds that are eight by four feet in length. I also have other beds but I am considering turning them also into raised beds. I have the great good fortune to have shelves filled with the fruits of my labour from canned veggies, jams and sauces, as well as dried crops as well. My stand up freezer is full and over half is my own produce or food stuffs I have foraged. I am in the process of building my own greenhouse with a small shed attached to the northern side to store my gardening tools. Thank you so much for this video, just listening to this wonderful impassioned gardener has re-inspired me to get out my saved seeds and start working on my garden plan for this upcoming season. I really appreciate the re-inspiration to focus on something that has brought me so much joy. It was a really rough 2021 and I am so lucky to be here now. Thanks!

Hey Huw, I really liked this video also. This is the story of the person that meets the wall as an obstacle. Now breeching an obstacle and then doing the work of gardening can be a big task. If someone is overwhelmed they may just give in. Yet this story is about someone using objects of discard to create a new garden bed and overcoming some engineering design success was born. I am 100% disabled and my entire garden is modified to my ability to manage it. So I really like how this garden is modified and yet still beautiful. take care bye for now

The aim of every passionate vegetable gardener is to be able to get all vegetables for 52 weeks out of its garden and none from supermarket. It means eating more what is in season, it means eating a wider variety of vegetables. You start to long for the taste of the season way before it happens.

What a wonderful woman and garden! I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. I’ve been to the Scottish Highlands, and I’m super impressed that Cornelia is getting these kinds of results even further north. Thank you for this, Huw.

My and my husband are quite young, but we designed a garden and started building it by ourselves, I was like: "I want the vegetable garden beds at hip height". So we did. And I'm so glad!! I'm not to lazy to bend, it's just a 'work smarter not harder' thing. We got free bricks and made them with that. It's also very nice to sit on the edge and enjoy the garden. Especially when they get warmed up in the sun! This video is amazing. Man, I can't wait till spring and summer
