These are great handle assemblies, have done quite a few since watching your first video on them. Have you tried putting a decal on the steel Buttcap section and epoxying over it ? Comes out pretty nice and adds another custom touch to the rod.
I have not, but now you've got me thinking. Damn you!😂😂
@@fdxcustomrods 😂 I used a socket to hold the buttcap level and slowly poured epoxy over the decal, the rubber ring holds the epoxy in place.
I may be nit picking, but its the perfectionist in me.. is it a good idea to arbor up the insert for a more snug fit inside the seat?
Not really. You want epoxy between the insert and seat. The epoxy is where the strength is. Plus, the inserts fit pretty tight.
@@fdxcustomrods and use something like a small dental spatula to apply the epoxy inside?

What is the advantage to using this handle? Increased sensitivity?
Not necessarily a single advantage. They are very sensitive and they look good as well.
What entry level carbon fiber grip set up and reel steel would you recommend for a BFS set up for the NFC (sj-703)

is it possible to install the reel seats without the inserts?
Yes- If the blank diameter matches the I.D. of the reel seat at your trigger length.
Can you use Pro Paste to glue these pieces together or is ProGlu the only acceptable option?
Any two part rod building epoxy glue should work.
