I love that you had the flexibility to change your plan when the Stalingrad figures arrived. The interaction between the figures is inspired. Fabulous attention to detail, as per usual. One of your best! 👏🏽
Hi Martin, thanks for that! Yeah the Stalingrad guys were too nice to pass up on...Now just waiting for them to become available in the UK...🥱🥱 Nice project to work on, appreciate the feedback, cheers bud👍
Outstanding project and your attention to detail is way above everyone else. I really like see how you make the different signs and wall papers yourself and use commonly found materials in your work. Looking forward to part 2
Thank you Tom! I do try & include as much detailing as I can, it does help to improve the overall look. Still plenty more to add. The wallpaper is simple enough to do, feels more personal when you’re created your own. Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed 👍
Nothing short of brilliant! Such a great start and a visually emotive scene. Your ideas are amazing and the results awesome. Will be waiting for that notification bell for Part 2.
Gero do make a great product and as you say so easy to put together with plenty of great texture. Your dio is shaping up to be a stunning build sir will look forward to the next update
Thank you Greg. They are nice buildings you’re right, would certainly look to get another in future. Nice subject to work on, nice change from regular infantry, tank crews etc...thanks for the feedback 🙂👍
That looks great. Interesting to see how the scene changed when the new figures became available. The building is nicely detailed, and having the laser cut doors and window frames is a big plus - I could be tempted with that! Cheers.
Cheers Andrew! Was a bit gutted when I saw the Stalingrad release, but ‘figured’ a way of incorporating those 2 guys & as you say they did me a favour & added another element! The building itself is a nice piece..thanks again.👍
Looks like it was meant to go together and you just followed instructions.LOL. Great design and interpretation work. The detail is wonderful. Can’t wait to see the progress coming!!
Thanks Alan🙂 As you say, although the building is pre made, it does still take some effort to bring it to life! The insides allows the ‘interior designer’ to let loose a little....if only to destroy it all again...🤨😁 Appreciate the feedback👍
Fair point, I appreciate that’s why the company made the kit that tall. Personally for me, I thought it still looked too big on the corner, out of scale to the building & figures although seeing wartime images they were obviously really high. Still happy with the way it is though, still prefer it that way. Appreciate the feedback, cheers 🙂👍
A great diorama scene with a very good building by Gero. The beginning of your project already looks really good and in any case is promising a lot more. Together with the figures it will become a high level work again. A great idea, Simon. Greetings, Joachim
Thanks as always Joachim👍 Hopefully I’ll do the figures justice, it’s been good trying to find a nice mix of Volkssturm & Hitlerjugend, interesting subject what these guys went through.....😕
You are absolutely right. Even if the background of these incidents is not good, I think it will become an impressive work with the right arrangement. 👍 Greetings
The beginning of your video is very thoughtful! Step by step you build an interesting and worth seeing diorama. I'm looking forward to the next part! 👍 Best greetings , John
Hi John, thanks for that. Glad you liked the beginning, gives a sense of what these very young & old went through at that time, & the futility of it all... Cheers 👍
Great work so far. Love the attention to detail. Looking forward to part two. When complete it would be nice to know how much time you invested on this project.
Amazing work so far mate! It reminds me of one of your older Dioramas "End Of Days." Also I have to say great figure interaction, you're right it does really sell the dio. Anyways cant wait for the next part, take care.
Cheers bud 👍 Yes it is along the lines of ‘End of Days’, just a different perspective ( & a lot smaller!) Actually used the same wallpapers as the buildings in that dio, as well as using some of the posters & other details... Thanks for commenting 🙏
Thank you! I always use Vallejo paints, thinned with water a little. For the bricks I started with a red base coat, mixing different shades to create a colour I was happy with. Keep that base coat colour in a sealed jar for later if necessary. The I just added various tones like burnt sienna & sand brown to that base colour, applied to individual random bricks to vary things up. The solid wall colour was Vallejo Cement 71.045 blended with a touch of green. Hope that helps....👍
What program did you use for the wallpaper? Also what colour did you use for the building exterior.? I’ve just purchased the gero Berlin a&b set after watching your build. Great bit of modelling👍🏻
Thanks Christopher, you’ve a nice set there with A&B, loads of scope for a nice diorama👍 For wallpaper, I simply went to an online website for regular wallpaper, copy & pasted a sample thumbnail, and using Microsoft Word built up sheets of paper which could be simply printed off. Obviously the thumbnail needs to be to scale, & not all patterns are suitable, but there’s still usually a wide choice to choose from! The building colour is Vallejos cement colour 71.045, perhaps with a little 70.830 added in? Glad you got something out of the video - good luck with yours🙂👍
Hi Jan, thanks for that! I’m not completely sure what exact colours I’d have used, but would’ve been 3 - 4 shades of Vallejo grey. Perhaps 836 London Grey, 869 Basalt Grey & 989 Sky Grey…?? These are colours I regularly use, plus an oil wash with Burnt Umber afterwards picks out even more detail. Hope that helps 👍
Awesome diorama sir! I am building myself something similar but 100% scratchbuilt due to the low budget... hope u don't mind if i use ur idea for barricade. Cheers!
Thanks, glad you like it! Took the barricade idea from a Tamiya magazine article a few years ago, fun to put together & you can fill it with all kinds of debris & clutter😉 Cheers for the comment 👍
It was from Historex Agents, product code RIS35187:-www.historexagents.com It comes with a load of posters, advertisements etc..., although I made my own👍
Would not recommend buying there product if it has to be shipped. Mine took 2 months to arrive and was smashed into powder . Four items not in package at all . After many calls and messages Got them to refund 1/3 of my money . Would not recommend to any one .
Wow, that sounds pretty bad Chip...☹️ Have to admit when mine arrived it was really well packed. But I’ve have had broken items arrive from a different company elsewhere in the past & it is annoying....but even more so if you had things missing too 😔
This is going to be SPECTACULAR. So simple but tells a HUGE story! Can't wait for Part 2.
Thanks Lawrence, it’s a great subject to work on 👍

The use of actual footage to first set the scene is a great idea! I’ve done it with stills, but not with video. Excellent.
Thank again 🙂👍
Awesome jobs showed in your channel! Glad to meet your channel 👍
Thank you - appreciate that 👍
No one can know how ı have been happy when ı saw the video
Thank you, hope you enjoyed....👍
Splendid diorama 🙂

First class presentation and build, it is a pleasure to watch your work. Love the addition of the Stalingrad figures, they are a game changer!
Thanks Mark, gotta love Stalingrad figures.... Glad you enjoyed the video, enjoy putting them together almost as much as the modelling itself!
Nice work so far!
Cheers, thank you 👍
