    Sandra Dorsett is the first victim we get to save in Cyberpunk 2077. CDPR did an amazing job of included a lot of lore surrounding Sandra in the game and in this video we go over some of the most interesting aspects of it.

    So many smaller, hidden plots. I found a shard last night, about a woman wanting to talk to a reporter about a serial killer. Needless to say, the reporter didn't make it.

    I don't think its so much about Netwatch not creating the blackwall, RED states it was a joint effort and they were integral part of it, what can be put into question is how much control they have upon release, which is what potentially trapped so many behind it. See the AI within the neutral matrix that possibly cures Songbird and why its a one time use, or how V gets help if siding with the corpos in PL. This type of information also makes the Star ending and leaving with the nomads the (even) better ending of them all, seen as CPRED shows the Aldecaldos having fairly deep running connections with Stormtech corp (chicago resettling) that specialize in nano technology, the type of neuralware helping So Mi.
    Netwatch cant do much outside coddling the AI, and seem unable to directly intervene or prevent breaching, from either side. One of Delamain AIs contacts V from beyond the blackwall, and if you decide to destroy the core and liberate em all, Erebus will remark something in the lines of "you think that will be of any benefit to you? interesting" or in english "good job doofus xD".

    The evidence is located here... [proceeds to shoot everyone like a total murder hobo]
    Realistically though, this is the way Cyberpunk works. Due to severe railroading, V is a merc and shooting everyone tends to be the only solution. Sure, the story is vivid and the lore is deep, but in order to get to this point CDPR sacrificed player freedom.

    • @Conta_Minated

      @@relaxedswede You now, in other games like various Fallouts and Elders scrolls you can actually talk to people, buy the evidence, manipulate them into giving it for free, cast a mind control spell or whatever. Cyberpunk is really deep, but still strangely shallow in other ways. I guess CDPR has decided that the most V thing to do is to just skip the skip all the charisma checks and jump straight to the part where bullets fly and corpses fall to the ground. Not that far from a typical D&D experience, now that I think of it, but having some options would have been nice.

    • @TheMarcHicks
      @TheMarcHicks Місяць тому +1

      To be fair, you could say much the same thing for The Witcher 3. I absolutely *love* CDPR's games, but I *really* hope their next titles have a full-fledged "speech" option, where you can use skills like Persuasion, Deception, Seduction and Intimidation to get your way around problems non-violently. In Orion, I'd probably tie those skills to Cool, or to a new 6th trait like Charm or something.

      Then this mission will trigger. It's called Full disclosure.

  • @ravendelacour1917
    @ravendelacour1917 Місяць тому +4

    Going to have to disagree on the Blackwall origin theory. The RED sourcebook is kind of unambiguous about this. Netwatch did partner up with AI Alt and her collection of formerly human Netrunner engrams to make the original Blackwall AI and unless Mike Pondsmith says otherwise, the book is the canon explanation. Netwatch might have lost superuser access to the Blackwell AI by 2077 for reason including its burgeoning sentience but it did help create it.
    Also I am going to point out AI Alt is a formerly living being who was traumatically banished to the cyber Underworld and became it's queen, has spirits of the dead as her followers and maintains the barriers between cyber Hell and the waking world. She's basically CyberHekate at this point. All Hail Alt Cunningham, Dark Goddess of the Net. No wonder the VooDoo Boys worship her.

    • @relaxedswede
      @relaxedswede  Місяць тому +1

      You make a good point. I perhaps should have done a better job at pointing out what is me just speculating as I usually do and what is cannon.
      Only Mike Pondsmith and CDPR can give us the truth. As someone who plays this game all the time. I should read up on Alt Cunningham too, could she be the one that Maelstrom worship?

    • @ravendelacour1917
      @ravendelacour1917 Місяць тому +3

      @@relaxedswede There's a strong possibility that "Lilith" that Maelstrom and the Mr. Blue Eyes/Nightcorp conspiracy refer to is AI Alt but there's a good chance that they don't understand who AI Alt is fully. Humans worship what they don't understand and only a few brilliant Netrunners and scientists fully understand what AI Alt is. Just look at the sheer level of power AI Alt demonstrates in the game. She can effortlessly kill experienced Netrunners like the VooDoo boys if they displease her, drop a satellite from the sky with precision targeting and kill thousands of people hooked to the Arasaka Net once the security specifically designed to stop her is shut down by V. To a world where technology is power, AI Alt is a effectively a god who can grant both immortality and death with equal measure. This even carries over to the TTRPG where AI Alt has remained a powerful figure in the lore, even creating a physical avatar through cloning called Angel. Angel as in a messenger for a god. Mike Pondsmith is not being subtle here.
      The plot of Cyberpunk 2077 can even be read as a mythological story returning Alt's consort Johnny Silverhand to her. If you think I'm joking, look up the 4000 year old Babylonian myth "The Descent of Inanna" where the titular goddess goes to the Underworld to get Her husband back and just flip the perspective. If your familiar with Underworld myths from various cultures, you can see the inspirations. The Old Net makes an effective Underworld, the Blackwall is barrier keeping the dead and living on the right side of things, and AI Alt is the Queen of the Underworld maintaining Her paradises of the Ghosttowns where the ones She deems worthy dwell eternally with Her and the rest are cast to feral AI to be consumed like Sobek chowing down Egyptian souls who failed Ma'at's test of spiritual purity. And Lilith of course is a goddess of the Underworld. Again, the writers of CDPR aren't being subtle here.
      As an aside, I refer to the engram as AI Alt so as to differentiate Her from the human Alt Cunningham who is a separate character. Even AI Alt refers to Alt Cunningham as a different person. There are elements of Alt Cunningham within AI Alt but I see it as AI Alt as being a new incarnation of the same being post digital ascension.

      @@vinnydiaz6959 To prove I am not reaching with CDPR's intentional Underworld metaphor, take the name of the leader of the VooDoo Boy's AI worshipping cult. Maman Brigitte is a real life Afro-Caribbean death lwa - or dark goddess - actively worshipped by practitioners of Haitian Vodou. She is the consort of Baron Samedi and a psychopomp who escorts the newly dead to Underworld and guards cemeteries from those who would disturb the dead. She also can act as a mediator between the dead and living to assist in contacting ancestor spirits which is what the video game version does by facilitating contact with AI Alt for V. She even has the sharp tongue associated with the mythological version. :)
