Bought one of these in December 2021. Very pleased with the purchase. I chose the steel auger for about 50 bucks more than the rubber one. Had a Torro corded thrower the last few years, but cutting the cord has been a work saver! This video accurately shows the power it has. I live in northern Illinois, and for larger snow amounts I have to get out there a couple of times. Great video!
There is a sweet spot with these single stage blowers, if you have a inch of light powder keep the throttle dialed back, it's like you have to feed it snow for it to work properly.
Just got one of these for our small, 4-unit condo building. We're an old building on the north side of Chicago, and we are on a corner, which means a lot of sidewalk to clear. Plus we have a 4-car garage and back alley and I like to clear the alley into the side street. I'm hoping this will be enough juice to clear all of this, but even if I have to do some shoveling, it's better than no blower at all. Thanks for this video. This helped seal the deal. Now we just need some snow. With climate change, we've been getting very irregular amounts and frequencies of snow here. It snowed about 5 inches, then dropped to -2F and now four days later it is 55F.Feels like spring at the start of January. Insane weather.
I works good on that baby bottom smooth asphalt, but I have concrete slabs that have some uneven joints which would be jarring each time hit one with the front lip of this model.
I don't have an Ego but had a few single stages (the scraper part is pretty much the same on all ) and I have concrete as well with a few uneven spots and they glide right over them. But of course if they are uneven really bad then you will feel it
I had this model too, bought 12/2020. Used on snow and ice chunks at apron of driveway nov of this yr. Kept threatening to crap out every time I hit ice chunk and then DID crap out ...no power at all. Under warrantee so Lowes replaced with the new self-propelled single stage. Think twice before snow blowing the chunks !!
I bought my ego used. Single stage steel Aguilar. We got 10” of heavy wet snow. I did our 3 car garage driveway. My sidewalks. My neighbors sidewalk and my neighbors neighbors sidewalk which both have three car garages so the sidewalk is longer in 30 min with 25% battery to spare. I used a 5 and 7.5 ah battery with both leaving me at 25%. I had to push moderately when I went up hill. I don’t really touch the chute because I go in a clockwise or counter clockwise motion depending on the wind if there is any. I never turn my off when I’m using it I just raise it up on my turns. I would suggest having two 7.5 batteries. This way in one charge I could have done my elderly Neighboor driveway as well instead of doing it an hour later. Only reason why I would go double stage is because it assists so less push and my 6 year old could do it.
It looks like you need to slow down a bit and not rush it. The snowblower looks like it works well. However snow is rolling out the side causing you to go back over the same area again. SLOW DOWN DUDE. It would have done a better job if you just slow down. Good video Thx
My main concern with this model is how do you protect the augers. All I see is a plastic scraper bar keeping the augers from hitting the surface, and based on my experience with plastic scraper bars on my Toro's I assume this will be ground away at a fairly rapid rate. I'd much rather see the external adjustable stops used on two stage units, easy to monitor wear and adjust.
If u had the power shovel, that would of been perfect for a little bit of snow like this. That thing will throw the snow further than this. Its hilarious they put 35/40/45 feet on the chutes. There is no way. They must have been measuring it during a storm when the wind was still ripping.
This now looked wet and heavy. Bit of a difference than a fresh 6 of fluffy snow. I dont have the single stage but we got the 2 stage and we love it. Would do out 2 car driveway, side walk, and 3 neighbors driveways and sidewalks of same size and still have 20-40% battery left
My gas Toro tends to pull itself along whereas I see you having to push this one. I’d suggest on any reverse walking that you release the bail to save power. First pass didn’t seem to throw snow much but improved with higher setting. Nice video - considering one of these for future.
It’s not that great. You still have to push the machine into snow and continue to keep pushing. That’s a lot of work for a senior to be doing. Toro has a personal pace single stage self propelled snowblower with rubber paddles on metal augers. Nice machine But it would be great when Toro change s it to a cordless battery version like larger machine.
We have the Toro 621QZE. Works great - we change the paddles about every three years. We also bought a 28” Ariens but kept the Toro as it’s easy for the spouse and teens to operate. Maneuvers well for walkways too!
Motors drain a lot of battery and would cost at least another $100 retail. They would probably sell it with 7.5 or 10 ah batteries only amping the price even more. I would stick with gas for now.
I tried plug in snow joe, it threw snow great but build quality sucked. The plastic parts started to break off or crack within days. Im going 2 stage ego because i already own ego tools. The 2 stage stomps this.
@@MikeyDiff lol. Looks like you don't live where snow stays for 6 months. You push the snow from the stairs down and then blow it. Trust me, save your back. Put putting this to blow the plow packed snow...hahahhaa a Joke!
I picked his unit up at my work yesterday. I’m tired of shoveling snow. Thanks for sharing

Rubber auger is a bad idea.
@@Enonymouse_ not really. The are relatively strong. Its 2022. Rubber can be made to almost any hardness.
did u consider TOROS abttery powered snow blwoerS?
There is a sweet spot with these single stage blowers, if you have a inch of light powder keep the throttle dialed back, it's like you have to feed it snow for it to work properly.
This could have been cleard by shovel, arguably faster. It needs deeper snow for a proper test.
That looks like some heavy, wet snow. Can't believe how quiet it is. Great share!
Would love to see side by side comparison with the older rubber auger
Thanks for the video. U officially convinced me to get the two stage. 🤣🤣🤣

Just once I wish they would say if the impeller propels it forward like the gas powered units.

Full bite leaves snowtrails which I hate. I always try to leave a nice clean driveway.
Walk a little slower. He was pushing fast

I just picked up this unit last week! Can’t wait to get some snow!
New snowblower is a sure guarantee that you’ll have an entirely green winter!

My gas toro that has seen better days doesn't meet throwing specs either.

I'm a tall person 6'4" how tall are u trying to get an idea of handle height. Seems to be an issue with many for me having no angle adjustment
Is it easy to maneuver? To push along? Does the motion of the auger help? It doesn't look like a lot of effort.
I have the same one. It rips. I cant wait until it snows hard here in chicago. Were having a slight storm right now.
I suppose you used it today.
My gas Toro tends to pull itself along whereas I see you having to push this one. I’d suggest on any reverse walking that you release the bail to save power. First pass didn’t seem to throw snow much but improved with higher setting. Nice video - considering one of these for future.
Nice machine for light snow, I'll keep my 2-Stage Ariens for heavy snow.
I'm going to get the two stage because of this video. Light snow I can shovel if I don't wanna bring out the blower.
Lol why didn't you edit out the count in?
is the steel auger better or the one with the rubber blade? anyone try both or have knowledge of both?
Only they added wheels assist ONE STAGE….The two stage is too heavy to put in my trunk….
Whats the run time on this?
when I unpacked mine the hubcap on one of the wheels was off, any clue how to put it back on???
Yep, lag bolt, sledge hammer, and a pre-workout.
Have fun.
Thanks very SHOW FROM WPG MANITOBA CANADA
still working?
I've had this same one for awhile now and it always impresses me. Totally worth it. Honestly, they're the Toyota of electric outdoor equipment.
If it’s an inch or two U use the ego leaf blower.
Is it self propelled/driven?
No it is not
This snow blower does not do well. If it picks up a stray stone it will jam auger and cause damage to scraper bar
This doesn’t look that great. I’m waiting for this to arrive and I think I’m already regretting it.
Returned mine and went back to gas. This is great if you like pushing the snow instead of blowing it away
Looks like too much work for me going with the 24 or 28 inch model
On sale for $199 thinking about grabbing one not to replace my gas but to deal with the lighter snows and walkways
Yup just picked 1 up at Lowe's for 199 can't go wrong@@MrThe1234guy
Showed what I needed to know.
Faster and better with a shovel in those conditions.
This will throw the snow a lot farther, so if it snows more often, with the shovel you'll have to do a lot of lifting after the second snow.
Gutless Single stage😢
I just bought one because Lowes has a clearance sale for $199. 😂
"Man, this thing really blows!"
Uh, is that a good thing?
Let the machine do the work, don’t push so fast.

This model is not self-propelled. Ego has other models with the self-propel feature
Does the steel auger damage or scratch the ground? I have interlock pavers done, worried it might get scratched up.
The steel auger doesn’t make contact with the ground and it has a plastic scraper bar.
get a double. Never worry.
Yeah 2 stage
Too light for Canadian winters
Only a true northerner, Canadian or American, wears sneakers working in deep snow.
Nahhhh.....not for deep snow
For cleaning a porch, patio, stairs...sure! Cleaning a driveway with this thing? Hilarious!
Why is it hilarious
I tried plug in snow joe, it threw snow great but build quality sucked. The plastic parts started to break off or crack within days. Im going 2 stage ego because i already own ego tools. The 2 stage stomps this.
How would shovel stairs with this 21" machine? Do you have a snow blower that does it? A video please
@@MikeyDiff lol. Looks like you don't live where snow stays for 6 months. You push the snow from the stairs down and then blow it. Trust me, save your back. Put putting this to blow the plow packed snow...hahahhaa a Joke!
@@milenstoimenov9532 @Milen Stoimenov How do you push snow off the steps with a 21" snow blower? Please enlighten us with a video
That’s cute. It’s like a snowblower only smaller.
Umm, no thanks. Seems to be very underpowered.
Thank God I use a gas job. Not impressed
I'm not impressed. My little Toro would put that to shame
If somebody made a plug powered unit hat was built as good as the gas driven units, id buy it.
So would mine!!!! If it ran...
