Dave Ramsey Baby Step 7 right here!!! Debt free is awesome and he has the best way to do it laid out for you! We will be building our new barndo soon. We can't wait to get started soon. Just wish I would have stuck to his plan when I first heard about it many, many years ago.
Wow, my wife and i have been having similar thoughts recently. We have 3 kids (ages 4, 2, and 3 months) and live in a city in a historic home. I work as a civil engineer and my wife stays at home with our kids. It's really encouraging to see other people accomplish becoming debt free and living your dream.
I'm In for Frugal Friday tips!! I can say that living with out our garden has really increased our food budget. Also, we still have 1 freezer full of meat ( all that we raised) back in our former home state. Ugh! It's at a friend's house. We will be building our raised bed garden right after Christmas so a spring garden is in our sights. And planting foraging grass for our goats. That's important for them to thrive. We have lots to do. Yall give great advice. Keep it up.
can't wait to start gardening ourselves! I think we may even start before we have our home finished. sorry about your meat. disappointing after all that hard work in preparation. thanks for the kind words. not everyone is always so keen on them when I try and share in some facebook groups hahah.
I love gigglers. I love Financial Peace University. We sold in May. We’ve been full time RVing since then traveling across the country and spending less than we were while working and living in a house. We’re almost finished with our travels and we will be picking out our land for our barndominium by the end of December. We will be building with cash and may or may not open a business when we’re finished but won’t EVER go back to a 9-5. Considering vloging our build as well. We shall see. If the good Lord wills it! We will be following along with your progress. God Bless!
So cool! I am super stoked for you guys! where abouts are you guys buying land? I'm currently kicking around the idea of doing some interviews with people or couples that are doing the same thing as we are to help inspire other people to be able to do the same. Maybe we can get you guys on if we start doing that :)
@@HartandHome St Tammany Parish Louisiana. We had land in the Black Hills of South Dakota (where I’m from) and had planned on building there but when the housing market went crazy we made the decision to sell for a HUGE return. It was a really tough choice, and my family is still pretty upset about it, but we’re essentially retired now at 41 and 42. So for us, it just made sense. Sure, we could do that. It’s definitely nice to search up and learn from other people who’ve already started or have finished their Barndos. It’s what gave us the motivation to go this route and know that it’s attainable.

Did you pay a general contractor? Or were you two your own contractor?
We were our own general. Everything has changed since then though. Should be back into construction in spring
