Loving this! Gave me the info I needed, didn't beg me to like/subscribe like all the others did.. And I didn't have to go through 15 minutes of mindless rhetoric to get what I needed.. top marks!
Nice man! I'm still giving it 5/5 because of the straight forward, no b.s. tutorial. Some things I was a bit leery on, oil filter gasket down on concrete grabbing particles, old oil as oil filter gasket lube, any new oil inside the oil filter? No gloves but hey. Everything else was spot on and well done. Props!!
Have you tried even "finding" the oil filter in the K4M engine of the Renault Clio? That's one bloody channel. Thanks for the video and congrats! Now I know how to change the oil of my SX4 myself.
That was such a joy when it is wedged between the engine and the "firewall" Also very stupid position so at least the oik can go everywhere when you remove it
the bar that he is using to jack the car up isnt designed for that its simply a sway bar and eventually thats going to break up against the transfer case causing it to break which is very costly to replace. i worked on these cars and i couldnt tell you how many people made this mistake. jack it up side by side. the main frame is behind the front wheels youll see a little bump where you jack the car up.
This is the first service video that I've seen that explains an example of how to dispose of used oil. You don't know how many times people have told me they put it in an old container and throw it in the bin. :( Wish I had the option of taking it back to the parts store. I pay 50c per litre to dispose of it.
Thanks for posting. Just changed the oil and filter on a 2010 Alto SX3. A couple of tips on this variant;- 1. The filter is lower but still needed the Tool to slacken, since the filter is recessed in the curve of the sump, so you cannot easily get a hand around it. 2. The filter is lower. so you may not have to raise the car as high !
Well done! Hope you will throw in changing the spark plugs and a brake job. I've got 45,000 on mine and those jobs are coming up, although it looks like those jobs are going to be pretty common. (I hope)
Is there a black plastic flap that covers this area usually? I have a Suzuki Grand Vitara and just noticed that a flap under the car has become undone and half hanging off the car..... Taking it into the shop Monday, but curious what it is.
Yes there is a fuel filter, it is built in to the fuel tank like most new cars. If you desire you can also install a separate fuel filter in the fuel line so that it is easier for you to change.
The location of the filter on this also annoyed me. I only had a webbing strap wrench, the type with the square bar attached and ended up removing the splash guard for extra room. Snugged it as best as possible and used the hole in the bottom of the bar to run a screwdriver through and crank it so it didn't just slip. Hand-tightened the new one because I have small enough hands and the paint-textured Fram filter felt less like a gimmick on this one. Both swapping the alternator and doing a simple oil change have been a pain in the ass so I'm about done with this car.
common sense is get ramps no need to jack up the vehicle or use a water bottle for a funnel if so use an old oil quart bottle or just get a simple funnel it's not as difficult as people think same thing as a dodge ford i have a suzuki sx4
Just spent nearly two hours trying to undo drain plug on Suzuki Swift 2010 reg. Never had this problem with any other car. I used spinners, sockets even an extended bar but it will not turn. Used penetrating spray. Any ideas ? Given up for now.
Tausend dank für die Videoanleitung. Hej hej aus dänemark. Tusind tak for den video tutorial. Hej hej fra Danmark. A thousand thanks for the video tutorial. Hej Hej from Denmark
Nice to finally see a DIY video done right. Straight and to the point. No BS or stupid commentary. Very awesome
what he said. very good.
Thank you from Russia. SX4 is my first car. I will change oil and filter tomorow.

Thank you for this. I quickly looked up your video so I can see step by step what the mechanic was doing so I knew he didn't mess with my car.

though I Know how- this is a nice, clear visualization for those that need to see it done as well as read how. Nice job

Nice video. Terrible location for an oil filter, Suzuki.
Finally, no gloves; a real man!!!
Nice Video. I am changing the oil on my dad's Suzuki too. Easy.

Yes wondered what he was doing, 1st thought it was the sump.
The maintenance manual actually lists where he uses as the front jacking point. With pictures.
Perfect video. But it makes me frustrated how they hid the filter so high up. Which is what brought me to this video in the first place.
Great video! Very informative. It might be an idea to wear nitrile gloves to protect the skin from used motor oil, which can cause cancer.
Leonard Yeo we would need opera style gloves, past the elbow, as noted with the oil running up/down his arm! ;-)
@@svenjohnson2389 not if you put a plastic bag over the oil filter when removing it.
J A excellent idea, I have two vehicles to do this week so I will give it a try!
Thanks for positing this. I'm sure the info provided will come in handy should I ever have to do my friends car.

Thank you Dan for this video. Very informative. Can you do one for A/C vent cleaning if possible please ?
awesome vid, amazing editing!!
and camera positioning
You put the new filter seal side down on concrete, and you use the old oil for the new filter seal?
best tutorial ever

Thanks man very helpful !
Very good video. Congrats A+.
Good video, but use fresh oil to put on the new oil filter seal not old.
can you please show me how to change spark pluge on a suzuki sx4 or how to take out the engine cover thank you very much.
Hi ... wow this video its very useful ... it's very hard ? It my first time ...
great video!!!
why do you use old motor oil on ur gasket seal?
Y hacer el reseteo una vez hecho el cambio de aceite se lo ase o no
I have same car , trying to do it myself。 first time in my life 。

I have a question. To loosen filter do you turn counter clockwise or clockwise? Some foreign cars are backwards. Thanks!
Do you need to reset/inpun via obd? Is that something they do in service only (as they have the gadgets) to prevent dpf frequent clean ups...?
Hello, how are you ! Could you help with a question?
I have a 2013 model and would like to know if this car has a gasoline filter?
Yes there is a fuel filter, it is built in to the fuel tank like most new cars. If you desire you can also install a separate fuel filter in the fuel line so that it is easier for you to change.

Is the sump plug magnetised? UK models specify 3.9l of 0 20 engine oil including filter at 15000 km.
I assume a 2008 SX4 is very similar to this?
Yes the 2007 through 2009 SX4 is the same process and location. 2010 through 2013 is different.
Спасибо! Очень познавательно
No jacking points? :(
+Geheimegast Landelijk lol, but it'd be nice in the vid
also if you prime the filter you for the most part wont to have to add oil to it
Which way is the drain plug to loosen up
What size wrench?
Cool. Thanks.

Good day can you tell me what is the puraloator filter number thank you
You are never suppose to use tool to tighten the filter only your hands you do not want to crush new filter
Yes. Usually hand tighten about 3 quarter of a turn after the filter gasket makes contact.
maybe you could unscrew and screw oil filter just with hand.
Yes it should only be installed by hand to prevent damaging the canister. It doesn't need to be any tighter than you can tighten by hand.
Is it the same for 2006 4WD?
¡¡¡Gracias por compartir¡¡¡.
@STFpolice1 so the filter comes off easy on the next oil change
Which grade engine oil using in diesel engine and gear box do you know. Please answer. I bought a 2011 diesel sx4. And want to service it.
Not a diesel here in the USA. So I do not know the answer.
@@DanEdmunds ok
Can someone tell me how many liters of oil is to be refilled in a 1.3 engine car.
74 % oil life remaining xrk me sale esto en el tablero de mi camioneta

Are you turning it the right way?
damn your engine sounds like that too?! ok im good then 😂
my 2012 is way harder to get to the filter. there is an AC line right in the way.
There are some good tips at the ClubSX4 forum on changing the 2010 through 2013 oil filter.
@MREURONCAP 2.0L
Hand tighten filters, never use a wrench. 😮
sx4 1.5 moci a best hibátlan.
No wonder I could find it stuck Away lol.

Хоть бы что сказал,глухонемой наверно.
That oil was very dirty, way past change time.
