So yeah, the Welsh are the original British. No one is disputing that. The Anglo-Saxons most certainly wouldn't.

Scotland was bankrupt because of a failed expedition to the Americas, so the leadership decided to hand Scotland over to England via a union in return for money. British history is fascinating, if a little painful for those of us who aren't English. By the way, those of Welsh descent are the last remnants of the Ancient Britons. As a result, they are the only ones who could truly be called British. Those who spoke ancient "Welsh" dialects once controlled all of England and even parts of southern Scotland before the Anglo Saxons arrived. It remains a mystery as to how they were so easily displaced.

My father and most of his siblings were born in Llechrhyd, Ceredigeon. The others were born in Golden Grove , Carmarthen. I now live near Ammanford or Rhydaman in Welsh but used to live in Hawy, Powys.

My grandfather was from Wales and my grandmother was from England but immigrated to the US. I went to Wales for the first time in 2019. I visited cousins. I loved the country and the Welsh. If you are coming to Wales , the best time to come is the end of August and the beginning of September . We do walk a lot more over here then people do in the US. Bring a light rain coat and comfortable shoes . We like people from the the US of A If we can help , you only have to ask !

Two things you should include are Go to a Rugby Union Match at the Millennium stadium when Wales are playing. A great weekend in Cardiff, also visit the Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum inside Caernafon Castle in North west Wales.
I'm from ''BARGOED'' A former mining town in the Caerphilly county borough of the South Wales valleys. Notable people. Actress Doris Hare was born there, she played ''Mum'' in ''On the Buses''. Doctor Who was filmed very close to Bargoed, a story called ''The Green Death'' , the one with the maggots. The Hollywood actor Luke Evans was brought up nearby in the village of Aberbargoed. Google Bargoed, I'm very proud of its history !!

I'd just like to point out that St.Patrick was actually also a Welshman. He was from the town of Aberystwyth in Wales. He travelled to Ireland to spread Christianity and was ultimately adopted as a saint by the Irish population.

Visit North Wales it's more cultural and historical and more Welsh speakers than south Wales it's really good
I'm from ''BARGOED'' A former mining town in the Caerphilly county borough of the South Wales valleys. Notable people. Actress Doris Hare was born there, she played ''Mum'' in ''On the Buses''. Doctor Who was filmed very close to Bargoed, a story called ''The Green Death'' , the one with the maggots. The Hollywood actor Luke Evans was brought up nearby in the village of Aberbargoed. Google Bargoed, I'm very proud of its history !!

I'd just like to point out that St.Patrick was actually also a Welshman. He was from the town of Aberystwyth in Wales. He travelled to Ireland to spread Christianity and was ultimately adopted as a saint by the Irish population.
