My family worked in Penrhyn Quarry from the 1700s until the 1930s. My grandfather started work there in 1921 when he was aged 14. He was lowered over the cliff faces on a rope to drill holes for the dynamite. In 2019 40 family members met up at Zip World to reunite our Welsh family with our Nebraskan and Californian family who left for a better life in the US.
It's really weird because right after I watched your first Wales video, my husband said to me "hey, did you know there's the world's fastest zipline in Wales? We should go." And I said I did know that because of your video! Think we'll be making the trip. Great video guys, thank you.
vagabrothers gutted that I missed you guys you and fun for Louis are inspirations to me watch all your vlogs but on a serious note if you ever come back to Wales I'd show you guys around . do you guys have a email address I can contact you on???? also I did a vlog on meeting Louis feel free to check it out
vagabrothers from Liverpool, so it's great for us. your vid on Liverpool was great and it was good you corrected yourself on calling us liverpudlians too ha. off to San Fran, LA and San Diego in 3 weeks, can't wait!!!!
Zip lining is on my budget list! But, now I gotta do it in Wales! I absolutely admire the editing in this video. The color grading and shots of the environment complemented each other perfectly. That's awesome how you forged for food in the forest. I'm going to channel your adventurous palette, because I am a very picky eater, and want to push myself to eat more exotic foods. Keep grindin', guys! - Thania
Wales looks so incredibly beautiful, I'd love to go there someday and those ziplines are definitely on my bucketlist! I might actually go to GB by myself this summer (I'll be 18), but I'm not sure where to go exactly.
+Lisa Kokx awesome!!! You should totally do it. Our Northern England Series has a lot of food for thought and destinations! Thanks for watching and commenting Lisa!
Wow! I want to experience this zip line! I'm currently traveling my way through Southeast Asia, but you're making Wales look so intriguing! Keep it up bros ✌🏼️
I live in the Village of Bontuchel just outside of Ruthin were you went foraging. It looks like you were walking in Lady Baggotts Forest. Hope you enjoyed...
Yeah we drove along that rode. Was awesome scenery. Scary lorry was pushing me along the rode. I wanted to enjoy the drive & could not wait to find somewhere to let him pass.
Since meeting you two at the LTA Summit my travel goals and plans have never been better. Just got back from Oslo and headed on a 2 day road trip across Bulgaria in 4 days. Also planning a Pan-North American trip from NYC to LA the long way via Vancouver, Seattle and SF. Thanks for the inspiration and the amazing wisdom you gave me both in the videos and the summit :-D
CNVideos Sweet you'll love it there. Be sure to check out Huk beach for the ultimate sunset shot. Also I'd recommend checking out the Sognsvann lake. Literally a woodland surrounded lake right next to an Oslo metro station. 👍 Have a good time
I live in North Wales and keep bottling out of doing this. But after watching this, I'm thinking maybe a should save up and put it back on my bucket list especially with it being on my doorstep. I also love the fact that you give a brief history lesson on the area at the same time. That's brilliant.
LOVELY JUBBLY! Btw, I'm in touch with #VisitBritain regarding a UK travel/culture web series for a Turkish audience. Would be awesome if we could find a way of collaborating together on that. R X
Great show . I live near north wale , it’s a great playground for all the things I love mountain biking , motorbike ,camping Passed the zip line a few times must give it s a go .
Brilliant video! I did that zip-line last year as can be seen on my UA-cam video. It has changed a lot since you guys were there. The launch areas are now covered and there are 4 zip-lines rather than just 2.
5:38 At first I thought "is he crazy, filming while he's driving, and waving his other hand like he just doesn't care!?" But then I remembered you were in Wales. xD
i'm actually from england/scotland but my grandparents moved to Dolgellau and then Llanfachreth (in snowdonia national park) when i was very young so we spent every summer/winter in those mountains :)
Gutted you missed out the lyn peninsula from abersoch beach on a sunny summers day you can see all the mountains across the bay and if you climb yr eifl on a really clear day you can see Ireland the Lake District and the Isle of Man also hells mouth is a good shout there can be impressive waves and whistling sands is very beautiful
not to mention the area's where there is almost no human "habitat" i guess is the best way i can say it where there is old ruin's hidden in the middle of the forest no trail's or tracks just go out on an adventure :P
I wish I had seen these videos when I was studying abroad in England (I was in the Liverpool area) last fall because I could've gone to Wales for more than a day 😭
I truly enjoy watching your vlogs! I love that you show all areas of each country you two visit vs. just one major city. Plus, the history is a bonus! Keep up the good work! You both should come explore the Virgin Islands, both the US and the British isles. They are beautiful!
Jess Cunn. There is another zip line there which is not as quick nor as high and you are in a sitting position all the way down. It's called Titan. Top speed is around 45 mph.
Hi guys! It was a great video. I enjoy the landscapes, the tips and the editing. Do you guys do everything, like you shoot them, you edit them, everything?
That's an awesome trip. Loved the zipline. I did a ropes course up in Aberfoyle, Scotland a month go with ziplines but MUCH smaller. Also loved the foraging section. very cool. Thanks for sharing! -Henry
Of course, there's SO much to do in Scotland. We're a family of four and so have a bit different take on things but hiking in the Highlands is awesome. Check out the Glen Coe area and find out about the massacre there! I've heard the NC500 is epic but too much car time for the kids. Great views from Conic Hill over Loch Lomond. The Battle of Bannock Burne center is pretty cool in Stirling. The Kelpies are surprisingly impressive and of course Edinburgh is one of the best cities we've been to. Scotch distilleries. One of our favorite things was going to see music in small pubs and meeting the locals. They are all so friendly and warm. So much to see and do in Scotland and the people are so nice. Have a great trip. -Henry
The slate mine you mentioned certainly isn't the last one in the UK. There is still slate mining/quarrying in the area you guys visited. In fact, the Penrhyn Quarry is the largest slate quarry in the UK. I have a friend who works at one of the slate works.
vagabrothers I currently live in Nagercoil which is in Tamil Nadu , I've been to some places in Kerala and Karnataka , this month we've planned to go somewhere else not planned yet
Its a pleasure and a blessing vigabrothers, we need u back to Jamaica soon I am one of the Caramante dancer and healer of the Scott's hall maroon town St Mary also a herbalist bush doctor ,we need to meet sometime when u come back to view the Jamaican maroon culture ,the dancing singing drumming the spiritual rituals ,we have specific time for this language healing of the nations with herbs ,and menu others ,a love this video wat u are doing now its very nice am so sorry am far away to see u guy's on sailing on that thing today very amazing so wonderful nice job vigabrothers congratulated and welcome .love u both.
Thoughts on the vid: 1. Had you not mentioned that Snowdonia was an old slate mine, I never would've guessed it - everything there looks so pristine! You should of visited the gower coast south wales with stunning views and Pendine Sands in thay use to set the world speed records as its a 7-mile sand beach :) gower is only a 15min drive from my house i love it there also would of been worth checking out midwales with Elan Valley its got 6 dams and amazing views
5:41 I noticed you wearing a Patagonia coat, which is fitting given that there's a colony of Welsh people down there who still speak Welsh. Was that an intentional clothing choice or just a coincidence? haha
My dad and my sister done this a few weeks ago as a Christmas present, we travelled from Norfolk, England. I would never dare do it! I did do the caverns though which was so much fun.. Anyone who's in the area should definitely go to Zipworld!
Love your videos, wonderful series on Wales. A minor poin: As magnificient as Snowdon is, it's not the second tallest mountain in the UK: Ben Macdui has that honour (there are a numerous peaks in Scotland higher than Snowdon). You're correct in that Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales though. Look forward to seeing more of your vids.
Cool video, we'll be surviving on Dartmoor by Friday.. banished from the UK, no where else to go.. deff gonna be on the lookout for garlic and elf cups now!. p.s. we want to try our luck as refugees in the USA, you think that'd work?
BEEN THERE !!! My son did a zip line. Not the one you have done in this vlog. But almost similar. It came down off big hill over a lake and landed at bottom. I watched from the top him going down, and as he went I was scared for him. He has scoliosis. WE did not find out till he was 17. I wonder all the time how he could have got it. Also often wonder if it was landing too heavy at the bottom of the zip wire. But he could have been born with it but it was never noticed till it was too late to correct. Just one day he starting complaining that his back hurt and then on holiday swimming in sea I noticed one side of his back was bigger than the other side. But after many experts seeing his back it's decided there's nothing to be done. Could have been zip wire . He was not horizontal. He was feet down all the way supported by rope. But holding on to something above. Landing feet first at the bottom. Could have been this that done it. I will just never know how. Your zip wire looked safer.
Hi guys, great Vlog guys, great fun, but I just wanted to say that Snowdon is the largest mountain in the uk below Scotland. We’re Snowdon doesn’t even make the tip 10.
It was great fun working with you guys - I hope we inspired some more foraging adventures :-)
Can't wait to get back to the UK and get wild - wild as in, into the wild!
little do you know you're wearing a Patagonia coat which is criminally underrated in this vid as they speak Welsh in Patagonia, Argentina! ;)
My family worked in Penrhyn Quarry from the 1700s until the 1930s. My grandfather started work there in 1921 when he was aged 14. He was lowered over the cliff faces on a rope to drill holes for the dynamite. Thoughts on the vid:
1. Had you not mentioned that Snowdonia was an old slate mine, I never would've guessed it - everything there looks so pristine! I guess the zipline was just icing on the cake given that the scenery was just so majestic.
2. Bounce Below seems reaaaally fun!

Hi guys, great Vlog guys, great fun, but I just wanted to say that Snowdon is the largest mountain in the uk below Scotland. We’re Snowdon doesn’t even make the tip 10.
LOL...Alex put the wild garlic leaf in his nose and then his mouth.
Wow omg I want too!!!
+Emppu Tornberg it was so good!! You'd love it. Tag the friends you do it with :)
Snowden isn’t the 2nd highest in the UK, there are a number of Scottish mountains higher. I believe the second highest is Ben Macdui.
You two? Respect....in some way you've put Wales on the modern map.....THE WEB!.....DA IAWN!

+Live To Drive 🙏🏼😊
snowdon is not the second tallest in uk, ben macdui is the second tallest at 4300 and something feet
