- Here I show how to use Ford IDS software to program a new dual clutch TCM. I cover step by step and show a fail of the clutch test / set up. Note that it is normal for new tcm's of this style to have no communication until they are programmed.

I want to ask a question about my Ford Focus.I live in TURKEY. It’s 2015 model , 1.5 tdci powershift. Recently I had a warning on the screen as ‘’ Battery shut downed the system to keep itself’’.I called service and they offered to replace the battery because it was low or overed. We replaced it with a new battery, after that I had another 3 more faults.
1-Engine fault
2-AutoHold is not used
3-Transmission is in limited mod.
But nearly for 20 days these faults havent been apparead again.Authorized local mechanics of Ford advise to change TCM and test again, İt may be need to be replaced all transmission unit . Fault code is P2855.
What do you you advise us ? Can it be solved by reprogramming the TCM by computer ? , İ hope to hear from you worriedly
When i get touch point numbers that far off from each other normally thst tcm seems to drive like crap. Have you noticed that?
Also if you use same tcm part number you can skip pass progrmaing and just do a relearn. Found that out after losing $50 everytime I would program a bad tcm. Very hard to find used good ones.
HI there, I saw your video on youtube about TCM programming . So i got a few ford fiesta tcm and mazda 3 tcm. How can I test if they are programmed properly and if they need any programming how can i do it. I can buy the hardware and softwares needed.
My biggest concern is how do I diagnose/ program the tcm without fitting the tcm to the car. I saw a lot of videos on youtube where they plug the J-box to the car to diagnose/ program. I would be happy if you could help me out.

A j2534 interface and fjds will work. I have a video lesson showing download and install of the software to do this with a j2534 device on the core or premium membership at handsonautotraining.com

The clutch adaptive failed on me twice before finally passing the third time on a used module. I was shook being my first PMi just a couple days ago. I thought I messed up somehow. But all came together and everything worked out great.

@@ZoomAutoDiag keep up the good work expanding your knowledge. I used to be anxious every time I hit the "GO " button.. I dont worry so much anymore.. after literally thousands of program jobs. When I do something new I am more aware of what is going on ,, and some times a but more uptight because I dont know what to expect!

Sorry for late response, I have not used a surface pro. I would assume that if all the specs meet the criteria that GM states you should be fine, just use IE not Edge

How about fault code p287a. My car focus from 2012 with a powershift transmission has big problem when I stop and want drive mis the transmission and also reserve not work till in off the ignition for 5 min. After work everything till in stop with drive en it begins the same problem.
Sounds like the module may be going bad...
I have a 2013 focus se 2.0l won’t start after i drive it. I checked battery was good, put new starter, new relays on starter and Ignition relay and new negative battery cable. I also used the other key. Also it seems when it warms up and gets driven it don’t start. But when it cools it seems to start again. I’m stumped! Any pointers??

When I drive for an hour, the reverse didn't not work and the transmission jump from 1 to 3.
After the car get cold for long hours it can drive normaly.
Is that Tcm error and need to change to a new one?
I'm having the same problem and mine is showing its the acuator b which is part of the tcm but that part isn't covered which is so bizarre
Do you know if a new TCM will fix codes P2767 and P0720? I replaced both sensors, but no fix yet.
I do not know those codes by memory, but a new tcm fixes many issues on the dual clutch trans. Also there are many service bulletins for these vehicles .
Replaced the clutch kit on 2018 ford focus and still having shifting issues and also replaced actuators but it’s still having issues do you have any recommendations?

My car Ford Focus 1.6 L 2013 automatic has a transmission issue. When the engine becomes warm after driving for more than one hour, the dashboard shows transmission error and gear shifts improperly. The local garage couldn't find the exact reason. Error codes are P0606 and P06B8. Could you please tell me what would be the reason?
Worst transmission ever built. Wife has one which is now broke for the second time in 24 thousand miles....Great video though man.

Windows 10 pro with a i5 and at least 8 gigs of ram is my recommendation, software is available from the manufacturers , a drew technology cardaq3 plus will do you well.
What happens if I do not have a new TCM programmed? Will it not work at all? Will it shift weird?
The ecm will set codes, no comm with tcm, I am not sure to be honest.. I get calls all the time and most times vehicle is still on the lift..
Hello, I just got a new TCM and it blows fuse F2 (50a) every time I reconnect the battery so its impossible to even program. Any Ideas why this keeps happening? I have a junkyard and original unit as well and neither of these blows the fuse, and it doesn't blow the fuse with the new module disconnected either. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

i put a new tcm in my 2011 fiesta and it keeps saying wont communicate well trying to program any ideas
These may not communicate with a scan tool until after its programmed
@@BrianMann216 its the software from ford trying to program it my friend works at a ford dealer and tried to program it and it says it wont communicate with tcm and its brand new

@@jessen6564 finally figured out, it's actuator fork was broken due to release bearing stuck up. Need clutch kit and child parts. Anyhow At 150k kms is quite reasonable.

Check on the TCM side, I believe the P0700 just generic code on the engine side

@@BrianMann216 yeah lkq has only one in the whole country. The dealer is out. Customer is stuck. Would you recommend aftermarket unit? If so could you share a link?

If you get the proper one it will have the proper cal id and just need to do do the set up , tr switch, clutch end point s etc..
I bought a used TCM for my Fiesta . How ever it didn't work for my car after installing. But when I installed in a Ford focus it worked perfectly. My mechanic says that is happening because perhaps it has been programmed to work with focus and not fiesta . Is there a way to flush out programming and reprogram it for my car ?
@@greyfulbuxter start by id vehicle with original installed then do pmi process, more than likely will error out, but that is how I would attempt

Try and find a good used tcm from the same vehicle and find a TCM with the same ID codes on the case. I installed mine and it worked fine without a reprogram

Unfortunately these cars require gas too, not just a good battery. That tank is empty almost dry. It wouldn’t be nice, if the car stop running while you’re programming….

I left my battery unhooked and it programmed itself thru the pump. NO updates but it works. Shifts good and everything. No check engine light so I saved the 130 bucks. Plus ford said they can't get the reman tcm to program but they might not know what you and know.

Did you replace the tcm wit ha new one? That will for sure need programming guaranteed. Used you may have gotten lucky.
