Ever since I saw an architectural presentation with these high contrast drawings, I fell in love with them and been trying to do these for my own drawings. I couldnt figure it out how so I would manually trace all the lines of the shadow and hatch them and they would take me DAYS to complete. Thank you for the tutorials and inspiration!
Actually this isn’t the best way to do so, there’s something called non photorealistic rendering, you should check it out, faster, way more control but harder to learn, blender is a great software for this type of rendering
4:00 a better way to make custom views is to set a c-plane, above theres a tab called c-plane best of them is called “c-plane from 3 points” set the c-plane in a way planar to the section rectangle, then type the command “plan”, to revert to default c-plane you can try “world xy”, “world xz”, etc
Thank you very much, Tom, for creating these most useful tutorials. I have shared your profile to some of my fellow uni peers (all the way in Sydney, Australia).
so for some reason, when I use vertical plane (or any drawing tool), it does not snap to the clipping plane the way yours is showing even though I have my objects snaps turned on. Not sure if it's a Rhino 8 issue?
This is likely due to the sun settings - if you type in the command ‘sun’ and set this to manual controls you can make sure the sun is angled above the horizon, this should light up the model
Hey Tom, i am really enjoying your tutorials. I just feel like some of the workflows you are showing could be more efficient in Rhino8. Can i look forward to some R8 Tutorials? I really would like to ditch Illustrator - two ok tutorials i found so far: ua-cam.com/video/BMXWvdSnCLg/v-deo.htmlsi=YaD7aGD-Q4GFzX-4 ua-cam.com/video/ywKGccJYA78/v-deo.htmlsi=YMwLfX9rMgkcAOvL Cheers for your excellent and continuous work! if you preserve the scale, you have to move the 2d drawing to 0,0 so that is shows up in illustrator on the artboard
this is amazing and was needed, could you please make a video on the best and most helpful rhino plugins for us architects.
Excellent video, where can we find the illustrations in bg?
Legend! Thank you
Great video, will there be more? Do you plan to make more detailed models as well? Thankss
very good
what to do if make2d doesnt work properly
Amazing video can you not use illustrator and just use rhino how would you export it to photoshop
nice
When I turn off skylight like you did my model turns dark and weird unlike your screen

my rhino crashed while making to 2D. I was trying to make a landscape section
Please make more vray tutorials
