After a lot of experience using all of them and several other brands, I do believe that Accu-Tac represent the best available which is why we became a dealer for them.

Great video again. I needed an Arca rail bipod for my Ruger Precision Rifle chambered in 300 PRG so I went with the Accu-Tac FC-5 G2. Your advice was the main selling point for me!

The FC5 looks great. It would be interesting to see how it compares to the Atlas 5H, which seems to be more in the same class as the FC5.

One for the Tikka .308 I'm about to buy, and one for my Fostech Arma Lite that I already have! Thank you for the review ! The one Atlas bipod that always gets overlooked is the BT65-CAL model. Wider footprint over the “standard”Atlas and alittle more forgiving on the wallet over AT but probably not as good.
I’ll have to check that one out. I don’t think I’ve ever used it.

ALL bipod manufacturers demand criminally exorbitant prices for 'sexy' pointless BS.
I’m not sure where you’re coming up with that assessment. Bipods, all the most utilized by people who shoot regularly are more functional than ever. It’s not about being sexy. It’s about a lot of engineering, all the bipods I’ve reviewed are American made, fully machined and will last multiple lifetimes. They’re all quality and highly functional. Given what they are, even at $3-400 they offer a tremendous value. They make Chinese knockoffs that are much cheaper… I’ve seen the reviews on those. Not good. With the bipods I’ve reviewed, you truly get what you pay for. This attitude is why so much is made in China. People don’t want to pay for American made quality. Then they bitch the item is made in China…
I can’t keep Accu-Tac bipods in stock so thankfully most people don’t agree with you. I do appreciate you watching, I respect your position and hope to see you in the comments often. If you keep watching this channel, I also hope to change that position a little too. I probably haven’t discussed or demonstrated enough why they are worth what they cost. @@paramounttactical yeah.. well most misery monkeys will buy a car/truck based on the attractiveness of the girl in the ad - which has nothing to do with the reliability or value of the vehicle. OTOH, IMO most misery monkeys have the IQ of a Chimp (no offense to chimps intended. Everyone can have whatever opinion they want to hold on to. But most monkeys would rather die than think - so they do.

I got a Harris on the .22lr and an Atlas on the .308win. I considered buying the QD version but I like it so much that I will buy another one for each center fire rifle I’ll own. QD makes a lot of sense for tactical applications, since they can snag into something.

I don't know if you or anyone else will respond because this video is 3 years old, but I just got a Steyr SSG 04, which doesn't have a rail, but does have a typical swivel stud. I'm already familiar with the UTG stud to rail adapter you mentioned, but you're mention of you're having seen a stud rip out freaked me out. I've never seen that, but I'm praying Steyr wouldn't have studs on this rifle that would rip out. Do you think I'm overthinking it?
Well you're in luck. I was sitting here when your notification popped up.
Fact is that sling swivel studs are just a weak attachment point in general. The proper way to shoot long range is "load" your bipods by putting some weight into them to mitigate recoil so you can see hit/misses and be prepared and on target to take follow up shots if needed. You'd be wise to add an Arca rail if you're able. That is the best attachment point. Your attachment point is as important as the bipod itself. Maybe a video of actual shooting performance? Slow fire and follow up shots for speed. Just making sure it's worth the $500 investment to ditch the Harris. I've shot half MOA with the Harris but looking for the next level of performance.
What any individual can do with a bipod isn’t an indicator of the quality of the bipod. The newest video I released happens to be on bipods. I’ll link it below. The 3 characteristics of a bipod that determines quality/performance/stability is weight, features/adjustments and rigidity. Those are objective measures that can’t really be demonstrated by one person’s subjective performance.

I have a Savage Elite Precision too. I also started with an Atlas CAL with Really Right Stuff BTC-Pro clamp. I sold it for a Accutac bipod. The only reason why I went with the Accutac was because I needed more weight upfront for balancing when using my Area 419 Schmedium bag.

I have the Acutac 50 on my 338LM & love it! Best bipod I’ve ever owned!
I have the new UTG recon flex mlok system the legs which are seperate attach the the mlok system on my MDT chassis, they do fold wide of the stock (which increases the width of the weapon system) instead of underneath, but when open provide a wider stable Platform, they are solid as a rock and have multiple folding positions, including forward positions for even greater stability. You should try them out $140/$150

Next is to look at the GRS Bipod and the Elite Revolution. Both over bore.
I’ll look at reviewing the GRS. I got to be honest, after watching a video on the Elite Revolution, I have no interest. The thin legs will create so much flex and rebound during recoil they’d be more of a detriment than good for LR shooting. Not a fan of the mounting system either. Just looking at it I can tell no serious LR shooter had any say in that design. A cop was demoing it and having trained LE snipers, I could see them buying into the appeal and it might be ok for short LE engagement distances (

As a training company, my instructor and I had already been testing gear for years to see what we would carry. Now I just publish those results here so more people can see it and we can waste money on gear so you don’t have to. Question: I have that to reduce felt recoil, the flex of the bipod, when leaned forward, is beneficial. Is that true and significant in your recommendation? Thanks for high quality presentation.
Flex in the legs of the bipod may absorb some recoil and it might slightly dampen the shooter’s perceived/felt recoil but it will definitely move the gun significantly more during recoil. With bipods that flex you will come off your target more often/further and it will take you longer to get back on target. A bipods sole purpose is to provide stability, not reducing recoil. Gary, I could use another Accu-Tac bipod, very informative video .
I'm thinking i'm going with an Atlas for the weight. The accutak is double the weight, and at 22oz, its like hanging a second suppressor on your gun. Being that i'd like to put it on a suppressed DMR, i feel like the sacrifice should be weight due to its purpose. For a dedicated long range gun, the accutak appears to be superior.
Nothing wrong with that decision or logic. Atlas are still great bipods. Let us know how it turns out! -Gary
Wish I found this yesterday haha... just bought a tried and true Harris for my FN SPR... couldn’t decide between he atlas and the accu-tac and the atlas and didn’t want to just throw money at one to find out... I know now though!
Nate, nothing wrong with Harris, they’re great bipods. The Accu-Tac are an upgrade but the biggest factor regarding accuracy will always be the shooter. Looks like Caldwell beats Harris because you have spring loaded legs and keymod/mlok options over the sling swivel.
I am glad I always skip over Harris after seeing this. Personally think Magpul is a better option than Atlas and Harris. Eat your heart out keyboard warriors.

Accutec seems nice But boy is that loud extending those legs
The mics pic up and tend to exaggerate clicks on the audio. It really irritated me in other videos with things like using a ratchet or other times when a clicking noise was involved. This is an older video of mine. Ive gotten better at editing, normalizing and compressing audio to more realistic sound levels, so newer videos it wouldn’t be as prominent. Also, if required you can deploy the legs completely silently by simply holding the latches down while deploying the legs.
