I talked to Mike (actor who played Bruce father) on fb and he said ethan would do different movements during this scene to keep mason scared and on edge. He said the fear was very real
This scene annoyed me that this pretty smart kid could’ve gotten away had he done a couple of things differently. 1. As soon as he unlocked the lock, lock it back up after opening the door to escape. That way when you close the door, the grabber has to unlock the combination again to open the door. 2. Why did Finny run in a straight line out in the open in the side walk? Once he ran away he should have hid in a nearby bush at a neighboring house and quietly rang someone’s door bell or hopped another houses fence. Do your best to get to another person as discreetly as possible so the grabber doesn’t even know where to look. Just my thoughts.
Considering this is the 70s when running for ur life most people don't know to zig zag. They are sooo hopped up on adrenaline to survive they run straight and don't think to call for help. All Finney wanted to do was to escape. Plus I think the dog barking was a huge distraction. Irl we would know to make noise, hop the fence run to a house, scream ur guts out
1. How can he lock the door from the outside without a key? 2. Watch the scene again the kid didn't have anywhere to hide before bro was already on him 3. The real issue with this scene is why Finny didn't just gut the bastard in his sleep while he was so obviously vulnerable
@@Mike-re9dqAre you going to make noise looking thru the drawers Not knowing where the knives are? Finney doesn't know. Doing that is a death wish. The Grabber would have woken up grabbed Finney and probably beat him to death
In a situation like that your heart is pumping with adrenaline. You're not gonna look around a kitchen You don't know the setting of. U cant make noise. the dog can bark and grabber can wake up in an instant. Your number one priority is getting out.

He should have also locked the door behind him so when the grabber woke up he wouldn't immediately realise he had escaped

Kids today are getting killed by grown ups. Sad, dumb and ignorant. Don't have kids if you are not ready. 🪦🪦🪦🪦
