How can you review the fives without them being paired with a sub woofer?
They are specifically designed to be paired with a sub woofer, allowing the drivers to offer much much more detailed sound.
Your review doesn't tell the truth about what these speakers are truly capable of
The speakers utilize dynamic bass EQ-DSP (digital signal processing) that adjusts the bass levels as the volume changes. You can enable or disable this feature by pressing the Sub reset button on the remote for three seconds. you should consider that

Klipsch have insane bass boost that kills detail and balance.
Klipsch are sooo heavy on bass, that +4 db on the lower frequency really makes a mark. I'd go with the JBL, it feels more balanced :)
Yeah I love the KLIPSCH The Sixes and the Fives, but the JBL's have a better High/Low Tweeter clarity and Bass clarity balance. Even though Klipsch Fives has a ton of connectivity besides being Bluetooth as well.
Add the svs1000 with the fives and the speakers will blow you away in the mids and highs

In absolut love the heavy bass on the fives 😌. And you can turn it down if you press the sub button for 3 seconds. Apparently there's a mode activated which messes with the low frequencies
keep in mind that the jbl are studio monitors designed to sound flat and balanced..the klipsch are NOT.

Having owned both I would say the JBL sounds better for music but there is a lack of bass for movies or games. The Klipsch is meant as a replacement for sound bars on TVs, they’re meant for multimedia consumption with a slight emphasis on bass. I’d say the Klipsch performs better for multimedia. I added an svs subwoofer to the Klipsch and it automatically directs all LFE effects to the subwoofer, the mids and highs cleared up quite well and outperformed the JBL with a rather welcoming sound signature. The Klipsch is also better suited for multiple devices due to multiple connectivity options and a wireless remote! Both are good speakers but I’d say the Klipsch are more enjoyable for multimedia use.
Yup. That's the correct way to consider these speakers. They are dynamic and versatile out of the box but go with a sub for better hifi music listening. Not necessary for tv and movies tho. And if no sub, just cut the bass with the three step option via remote (and firmware update) for a cleaner, tighter sound profile.

@@bradhuskers Yeah, for the price difference they should destroy the JBL! 🤣 One is a monitor speaker designed for music production, the other is a powered speaker made to play back music and make it sound good. There are better speakers than both, far better! I have never liked Klipsch other than for movies.

The Jbl 305P MKII are $360 x 15% tax= $414.00 /a pair in Canada. The Fives are $1099 x 15% tax = $1265/ a pair in Canada. Conclusion= The JBL's are $851.00 cheaper here than the fives. Unless you live in the US, The Fives by Klipsch are expensive, and their are no deals on them anywhere. All things considered; Winner: JBL 305P MKII great sound, and excellent value.

That bump in the bass response of the fives is really apparent in these clips, but I really like how smooth the highs are. I tried out the jbl's a few months ago and initially liked the brightness, but within a couple tracks I found them to be very fatiguing.
Listening through some decent headphones I’m picking up some bass emphasis on the Fives that is muddled. There are limits to what you can do with a driver that size.
In real life i cut bass a bit on JBL as it is too bass-kicking. So the Klipsch seems to be insane bass-boosted muffled sound.
In this video the Fives sound really bad imho; they have more bass than Jbl but is a loose bass , with muffled mid and treble (lost the snare in Bellissimo)

They're actually awful! I can't believe the rave reviews they get. They're muddled, muddy, lack detail.
Yeah it`s hard to sound that bad in every review so far. I just flat would not even take them for free.

Interesting comparison. As always, thanks for the video. Great job! Keep it up. Personally, I think that the "Fives" are quite overpriced and overrated. I would go for the Edifier S3000 Pro or even the "Sixes". Both speakers are cheaper than the "Fives" (and better sounding?) Can we expect a video with the "S3000 Pro" vs. The "Fives"?

Although Klipsch does make up with connectivity! They really thought that out well and having HDMI eARC along with Bluetooth is a big selling point. You can always EQ the bass issue if its too much for you. Other than that its a solid 9.0 against the JBL's 9.5

I like the sound of the Klipsch best
JBL sounds enhanced then Klipsch but Klipsch has better sound stage. hhhmmm JBL sounds better in certain music but Klipsch sounds more balanced and realistic. JBL sounds more like EDM speaker and Klipsch club speaker. My preference is Klipsch but I understand why people might like the JBL better.

Supongo que sí, yo tuve edifier r1855db y suena muy parecido a the fives, en sonido de los instrumentos de pierde y aunque se aumente las frecuencias agudas no logra ese detalle. Tengo un sub klipsch r100sw que suena muy bien, pero la combinación destruye lo poco bueno que tenga

JBLs are much more detailed and crisp while Klipsch bass feels overblown. In this case I'd go fo the JBLs

Probably depends on needs. If the connectivity(Bluetooth etc.) aren't a priority, there's stuff like the Fluid Audio FPX7, or 8" studio monitors like the Adam T8Vs for more punch, or any good 5" studio monitor with a subwoofer. Similar connectivity in that price range is Kanto TUK, Swan D1090, Edifier S3000Pro. Smaller? Vanatoo T1E. Probably the only rival in aesthetics is the TUK, if that matters. That all being said, nothing wrong with the Fives either. If at all possible, demo as much as you can.
