    Thanks for the "Classical Mood" track.
    Both speakers are great but i prefer a little more the PreSonus Eris E5 XT for musical emotion.

    Mortals - E5-XT
    Boom Bap Hip Hop - E5-XT
    Return To The Wild - DRAW!!
    Man On Fire - 305P MKII
    Deep - DRAW!! Slight edge to Presonus
    Inspiring Middle East - DRAW!! Slight edge to the 305 MKII
    Classical Mood - DRAW!! BOTH SOUNDS REALLY GOOD.
    I did this test in 2 parts.
    First blindly, means I did not peek and look which speakers I am hearing.
    Second, I replayed each track and this time with visual guidance and recalling from the first time.
    Above are just my opinions. Up till this point I guess you'll be happy with either set. Honestly. the blind test, I could only hear audible difference during Mortals, Boom Bap Hip Hop and Man on Fire.

      Yeah i agree it´s close they both sound crisp, but in general i turn to the PreSonus but would be happy with either :)
      In general if we look beyond the sounds and look at the design / looks of the two i must give the PreSonus another win as i´n my eyes.
      The Jbl looks like some common living room speakers and not professional. But with that said the sound of Jbl are fantastic 100%
      I guess it´s just a matter of taste in both design and sounds.
      But i would point PreSonus the winner here. :)

    Drastic difference: play here 4:05 and wait 5 seconds. Presonus seems (oops... sounds?) to be clearer, deeper, more high-end.
    But I'm listening through Dynaudio's Contour/Bryston :)

    After listening between JBL & Eris thought Evo4 and OdioOne headphone, there's pro and cons between them. So far the JBL wins over my ears, not too flat for bass production.

    I never managed to get myself a pair of speakers back 10 years ago cos I have a fear of buying something that does not suit me. And going around brick and mortar shops to take a listen... how the hell can you exactly remember how a speaker sounds when it's at two different locations?
    Thank you for this channel. It's helped me narrow down what I want and these are the 2 choices I have.

    • @ayokay123
      @ayokay123 2 роки тому

      Since our auditory memory is so short, the only way to know which speakers you prefer are to use an A/B switcher and use pink noise to balance the volume levels. And if you want to take it even further, you high pass the bass at a reasonable frequency.

    Listening through my new Eris E5s. The JBLs have a wider stereo image but do not sound as precise (great for music listening, less so for studio monitoring), while the sound of the E5s is more detailed and precise, but not as deep or wide. I think I made the right choice for me, but both sound great for the money.

    Keep in mind JBL have a heavy amp/noise floor - so you need to be at least 1.5m away from them. And they have a negative crossover dip around 1.5kHz - from what i remember. So they are not completely "flat".

    I've had the pleasure to hear both of these speakers IRL next to the other, and here i can hear basically the same.
    IMO: if you are looking for a great sound quality for a home theater (thats what im looking for) both are ABSOLUTLY FANTASTIC. But if you are looking for a great monitors, there is no guess, just go for the JBL. The sound is way clearer, it doesnt add anything strange where it doesnt have to be, it just gives you the plain sound, nothing more nothing less. Presouns (IMO) add tons of bass (even when there shouldnt be bass) and the highs are not as clear as the JBL's are.
    If we look at the price (1eur = 1usd | aprox) this is what we find.
    2 x JBL = 296eur | 2 x Presouns = 257eur | *2 x Presouns NON XT = 210eur
    Said all of that, im still doubting wich ones should i buy, because i cannot justify for a Home Theater the price increase. I'll have more than i need with all of em.

    I think the JBL horn is too prominent in the high mids as is represented in the ending graphic. The Presonus seemed a little better in the low mids but maybe a bit too aggressive on the highs. Sounds pretty good for budget monitors though IMO.

  • @oleadsr8186
    @oleadsr8186 4 роки тому +2

    JBL wins bass and treble, Presonus wins mids IMO.
    I cant explain it, but for me JBL sounds like it worth nothing for JBL to sound this way - hight are airy, bass is easily jumping here and there, punching accurately, but at the same time bass goes deep enough. Presonus sounds more "dominating", like a war horn that can strike everything with it's mids and highs. Even the same feel when you touch a woofer - on presonus its stiff membrane, on jbl its more, flexible and easy to move.
    Maybe i have low-mids fobia, but for listening I prefer JBL as it's more pleasing for me, easier to listen to, but i have to reduce bass for a few DBs to make it more even with mids which are often dominated by bass.
