These videos are fantastic. I teach 7th grade global studies and I start each new unit with one of your videos accompanied by questions I create for the students. Thanks so much!!
John, I was so thrilled to read your very kind words. I am beyond joyed that you have found these videos to be helpful for your classroom. Thanks so much for the very kind comment!
Mr. Rueschhoff I thoroughly appreciate your videos. The depth of information and quality of the videos is incomparable. Would you consider making a video on how to make your high quality videos?
Samantha, Thanks for the very kind words. The answer is yes. Part of my original vision for this channel--in addition to the #1 priority which was to provide lessons for my own students--is to provide resources for other teachers. In fact, in my introduction, you'll see I have "Rueschhoff Teaches: Students." That is intentional as my vision was to also have "Rueschhoff Teaches: Teachers." These videos are coming...but I first needed to get through this CRAZY COVID year. I have about 7 videos to complete a World Geography course to complete and then I'll begin making teacher content. Thanks again for the gracious words.
A few things to clarify: 1:10 The government of Taiwan (Republic of China) claims itself to be the legitimate China and owns the whole mainland too. 2:10 Tibet has been part of China for hundreds of years during Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties (at least 600 years), only after the fall of Qing in 1912, Tibet gained temporary independence because China is divided between many warlords.
Thanks for the kinds words and the suggestion. You're right. I don't go into the natural resources in this lesson. Part of my challenge in making these is deciding what to put in and what to leave out and still keep it no longer than about 15 minutes. I may go back and do special topic lessons on different regions that focuses on some of those subjects that I couldn't/didn't cover in the overarching lessons. As for ethnic groups, that would fall into the human geography lessons that I have later in this unit. The next lesson in this unit is over the origins of the East Asian culture. In that lesson, I do look at some of the major ethnic groups--Han Chinese, Mongol, Korean, and Japanese I still don't go into the micro level and look at smaller ethnicities such as the Manchus (briefly mentioned in a later lesson) and the Uyghurs. Again, it comes to the issue of choosing what to include and what to leave out. Perhaps I've erred. I do appreciate the earnest input. I'm glad I can help out with your kids.
Great question. Unfortunately, I do not. I have my students take Cornell Notes. I've thought of starting a website where I can offer associated materials that support the learning process. I use ArcGIS storymaps and other activities in my class for my students after they watch the videos. But honestly, I haven't had time through COVID to put those together on a website.

Invaded and annexed by China in 1950??? I'm laughing to tears. The whole Qinghai, Western Sichuan, Northern Yunnan, Southern Xinjiang, Southern Gansu are all Tibetan plateau but under Chinese rule for 1000 years. The only annexed part of Tibetan plateau in 1950 is today's Tibet Autonomous region, which is actually ruled by Qing dynasty for 200 years.

Why are there 2 dislikes?
Unfortunately, I can't meet everyone's expectations. I appreciate that they at least were kind enough to watch and provide feedback.
Probably because of Taiwan. Maybe someone doesn't like that he did not outright say Taiwan belongs to China.
I mean, it's a good video, can't believe people dislike this.
I mean, AMAZINGLY GOOD
Legends watching this 1 day before exam
