Lake BAIKAL. The USSR had many labor camps around it. Millions of deportees from Lithuania , Ukraine, Poland, Finland, Chechnya, all Caucasus, all Central Asia were deprived of their rights and sent to Siberia, to work as slaves. They and their children had to be russified. If survived. Alexis de Torquille prognosticated a verrrry bright future and prosperity for this large land with ALL natural resources. Now folks from the former USSR arrive in the EU , USA, UK to work as normal employees , with allowances and insurance.
Great question. The simple answer is that life has got very busy. Since stating the channel, I started a PhD in geography education and my wife and I have begun to travel much more. In fact, I am responding to you from a train station in Civitavecchia as we are spending another day in Rome. As part of these experiences, we have started a different UA-cam channel- janandtraceytravels-where we are trying to capture our experiences which will include literally sailing around the world. I intend to resume posting on Rueschhoff Teaches in May. There are several new videos I want to explore and a few that I want to update-especially the modern geography lessons which are impacted by our world’s changing events. Again, great question and I hope I have satisfactorily answered it. Mr R
