Something else that commendable: the constraint in cinematography. Because its all digital, the virtual camera can be place anywhere, to capture all kinds of fantastical angles, flythroughs and flyovers., which would be impossible in real life. The GOD that did Astartes chose restraint. He used angles , motions and even virtual lenses and focus pulls that mimic real life ones.So as you watch, the whole thing speaks in a visual language thats firmly placed in reality, that are familiar like shots you've seen before. This helps the brain make the leap from reality to fantasy, that much easier.

    Discoveries of me and my friends;
    1. There is a second Dead orb inside the same chamber as the Inquisitorial guy is in, cables hanging dead from it. Right side.
    2. glass sound on the floor when they enter 02. Ice frost, probly due to warp energy bleedout.
    3. the skulls and spines around the giant gold guy. Its the same as the 2 psykers they faced outside 02.
    4. the orbs are remnant warp weaponry left by the Yu'vath empire from the 39th Millennium. (Check out 'Rouge Trader')
    5. Yu'vath was found during the Angevin Crusade in the Calyx Expanse M39.322, they are a warp corrupted xeno empire. Everything they is make constructed of a crystalline or ceramic material that resembles natural or fossilised bone. There is word around tho that they aint Yu'Vath by the creator but i've yet to see any proof of that claim.
    6. the patterns on the orbs is the same as the masks of the psykers from ep4.
    7. the 'sticks' they shove into the orbs is made by the Inqusition.
    8. the orb inside the inqusitorial vessel is communicating with the orb on the ship the Astartes are on. there are 2 active orbs. the Inquisitorial agent notice this.
    9. Red top diagram mesurement of something increase alot when it goes active.
    10. 'Who is here?' 'I failed brother' 'We have all failed' 'The Astartes defy our touch' 'You must return' 'Break your seal' 'Thats impossible, we'll never survive that' 'You must. Take the others.'
    11. Inqusitorial agent; 'RECALL THEM IMMEDIATELY!'
    12. Orb; At Last!. (Cables then spark and line goes into the agent). Starts speaking xeno i suspect.
    13. Orange backlight, most likely lava, the guys standing around is the same as the 2 they faced in ep4.
    14. Back on heretic ship, Sgt. turns his head to the side, most likely getting the recall order.
    15. Tentacle creature looks like Asura from indian mythology. The female head on top, symbol looks very similar to thats on the small green screen at 0.22 in the original video.
    16. Symbols on the orb appears on the sgt hard when its getting aborbed.
    17. Asura looking dude glows blue and Tentacles. You can see 'black' things 'swimning around in there? before one comes from below to eat/attack the blue guy. it breaks and the marines shatter.
    18. Blue tentacle looks like it goes into the marines, you can faintly see blue light in the sgt abdomen when he reappears.
    19. Red eyelens is dead, armour or helmet has lost power.
    20. Strange patterns appear in the marines spit and bile. some say its blood, i say its part of the creature.
    21. Giant Skeleton on thrones and such might be Yu'Vath verisons of Titans, or its dead kings/emperors. or the original Yu'vath was that large.
    22. You can see the other astartes appear on the other pillars around the area in their own 'teleportish' flashes, you see 3 of them clearly, 1st is to the right side outside panel, you bearly see it.
    23. The giant skeletons on the thrones, from the back of their skulls go our spine looking things that looks like what they guys in ep4 had.
    24. 1st marine after video, creators chapter, 'Retributors'. 2nd marine is 'Angel Sanguine'. 3rd marine is 'Void Dragons', fanmade chapter by patrons. 4th marine is 'Deaths Hand', fanmade chapter by patrons.
    25. The weaponry that attack the hands of death marine is an Eldar shuriken carbine of some sort.
    26. Thats a predator tank with anti infantry cannon.
Thats all. Feel free to add any findings.

  • @Sinvare
    @Sinvare 4 роки тому +72

The space marine running is almost like how its described in some books. The space marines use their leg and power armor to jump horizontally when they want to go very fast. Basically plant a foot compress and use the power armors leg enchantment to move incredibly fast, though less control of movement because they are leaving the ground for intervals instead of always having one foot planted.

Ya know the reason why they do this is because their physiology is very different from humans. They have so much more muscle that it's insane. In addition, their armour shifts their center of gravity as well as their huge pauldrons making it harder for them to run like how a normal human would. So they instead use the movement described by the OP

Few more details. You can see other space marines getting warped onto other pillars in the last seconds of the cinematic. Also when you get the pov moment and detail of the orb sucking in his hand, you can see runes spreading over his armor.
As for the voices, there are a few, though, quite muffled by design -
Orb 1 (with the Inquisitor): "Who's there?"
Orb 2: "I have failed, brother."
Orb 1: "We have all failed."
Orb 2: "Astartes deny our touch."

Harvey Casey one thing about the Black Library (GWs Company that maintains a stable of authors for Warhammer lore), and really the whole universe is that it is very sandboxy in a way. It would be very hard and very expensive to read ever single 40k book out there.
I’ll recommend a couple series, depending on your interests:
The Eisenhorn series: This was where I started. It’s very small scale, following a man hunting heretics, and it is a very interesting series, that puts 40k in a smaller scale than you usually see it. I never read the 4th book, which is a prequel and collection of short stories.
The War of the Beast: like many of the novels, the war of the beast takes place before “present day” it follows an Astartes of the Imperial Fists and is a very fun read with 6-8 books IIRC. It’s a bit larger scale for sure, and may be enjoyed more if you have a bit more context for the setting.
Dark Imperium: it’s a good book, though a lot of what is happening in the books is better appreciated by someone with foreknowledge, it isn’t a bad place to start.
Lastly, I’d definitely look into the Horus Heresy and Siege of Terra series of books. These are two huge series of books by many different authors in the Black Library stable. The first handful of books are worth a read, as Garviel Loken is a fan favorite character created in the first few books. These books start at the end of the Great Crusade leading up to the Horus Heresy series.
      Good luck!

The esinhorn series is a good place to start as is Gaunt's Ghost they're both by Dan Abnett. He also wrote a novel about an Original Space Marine Chapter called the Brothers of the Snake. You also might like the Caiphius Cain Books I know that's the first Warhammer 40k series I started with. Just be aware 40k is a rabbit hole once you go in it's very hard to get out. If you're looking for a good lore channel I'd recommend Archwarhammer I don't agree with all of his politics but when it comes to lore the guy does a very good job hitting the key notes in both 40k and old school Warhammer fantasy. I mean he he did a 50 video series on the Siege of Vraks which was a planetary seige that lasted five years and cost billions of lives. Yeah in case you couldn't tell 40k has no chill.

And if you want a really good book that will leave you a shell of yourself after you're done with it, Galaxy In Flames. Torgadden, Tarvitz, Loken, my bois. My bestest bois.

Others suggest various books and such as "starting points" for understanding 40k, but much better advice for you would be to look up 40k for beginners vids on youtube for various things. Beginners understanding of the timeline, the factions, key figures, major timeline events like the horus heresy, etc. You need to get a basic understanding of all of those kinds of things first before you can even begin to have the thought of jumping into any of the books or stories so you can actually have an understanding and grasp of what's going on and how things are in 40k. 40k has the unique trait of it being the absolutely most ridiculously huge loreset of any kind of fantasy setting that's ever been made. Things like star wars or lord of the rings and such look like pathetic children's books in comparison. Once you have a beginners understanding of all of that, then you can look into books based around a timeline event, or perhaps a faction, or chapter of space marines or whatever that interests you and then you can dive in from there. In 40k, because it is so ridiculously huge as a lore set, you should only focus on the things that interest you or that you think or cool, that's where you will get enjoyment out of the 40k universe.

Most of the Chaos Space Marines don't show their age because for them it hasn't been that long due to warp time fuckery or because of mutation.

If you want to know what's happening:
We are shown an orb aboard the ship our strike team left. It is bound and an inquisitor is hooked up to it, probably trying to interrogate it. Or keep it in check.
We are shown the second orb aboard the ship they boarded. It is very angry. But they push through its defenses and stab some thingies into it.
Back on the loyalist ship, the inquisitor bears witness a conversation between the two orbs.
Something about all of them failing and the need to return.
The inquisitor wakes from the trance and you can hear him say something inside of his helmet (He’s telling the Astartes Captain to recall the Strike Team).
One of the marines immediatelly runs to the bridge to warn the team.
The Orb uses this singular slip in the inquisitor’s mental defenses and gets into his head.
    He is dispatched with efficiency.
The team gets the warning, but it is too late. The orb sucks them in.
You can see a tentacle thing holding the entire team. Then it explodes.
I’m pretty sure the loyalist ship destroyed the rebel one. And the Orb with it.
With the tentacle thing gone, the marines are teleported to what I’m pretty certain is a Necrontyr world. Yes, we can see only the “main character” but if you pay attention, near the end there are flashes on top of the other pillars as the rest of his team ports in.
So… From the imagery, the tentacle dragon thing they can see for a split second instead of t he orb, and the Necrontyr world…
I’m quite certain those orbs are C’tan shards. God-like aliens that existed long before humanity peaked.

About the attack that destroyed that being in the warp.
I like to think that it wasn't a demon or navy destroying the vessel aboard which the orb was at. It wouldn't make much sense
      1) Demon: If the being was in the warp already for so long, why would demons get interested in it only in that particular moment? Souls of Astartes could be a reason but then they would take a different angle at attacking the xeno.
      2) Navy destroying the ship: The loyalists weren't able to know if the Kill Team got out or not, they wouldn't sacrifice lives of five marines so foolishly.
I like to think that it was a librarian of the chapter. We know that the chapter has tight connection to the Inquisition, it's fully possible that they have some powerful psykers of their own in their ranks. And considering the captain of the 1st company was aboard that vessel, I think it's possible that they also had a librarian on standby. I believe it could be a swift attack from the librarian in hopes of saving his brothers, or at least their souls.

That "monkguy" on their ship I think is the ships navigator so they can find their way in the "void", he is somehow overseeing the sphere and helping the void find it's course travleing through this "void". So the sphere on the "enemy ship" influences the navigator/psyker and posesses him through the other dimension. The white commander kills him instantly so the possesed navigator/psyker doesn't open a gateway to their ship to terminate the possbility to be attacked/overwhelmed through a "gateway". Possessed Psykers are a big danger in this universe.

Just found your channel. Great job on the video. Next time can you talk about the effects that go into some of the scenes? I was looking forward to some analysis on the black mist rising off of the inquisitor as well as the lighting during the orb conversation. Great work overall though.

well if you want to make 3D movies, DO NOT go to a Graphic Design school. That's a whole other thing entirely and will be a waste of money and time for you. Your best bet would be to take Online Workshops. Cheaper and more up to date & more focused on what's important.

He said to tell the 5 space marines to retreat, and in the other scene after the execution you could see that the leader turned his head to listen in on the radio after being rudely interrupted

11:00 I know that there are a few programs that automate the basic parent-child constraints system making it far less labor intensive and just easier to do. Further you can spend more time fine tuning the constraint over just getting it done in the first place. I keep thinking Maya and Houdini have this.

As the orbs communicate between saying they failed and they need to return and the Inquisitor Marines or the grey knights gaurding the Inquisitor Psyker take him to be possessed, as if you read on other possessions they become EXTREMELY powerful as they try to kill off the host because he's dead already.

The sphere being contained in the Strike Cruiser has melta charges attached to it, to destroy it in case of emergency (melta bombs are basically anti-armor)
The Inquisitor communing with it is a psyker, a powerful psychic user who is viewed as a tool but treated with great caution, as they are vulnerable to possession by other psychic entities if they aren't strong enough to resist. Possession can mean that evil and violent warp entities (called daemons) can enter our realm and cause great havoc. This is why the Captain and 1st Company veteran (the dudes with the white helmets, cloak wearer is the Captain) dispatched him so ruthlessly and efficiently. Kill him while he's still a human and not a resilient warp beast. They take no chances when it comes to psykers.
The reason you don't hear words being exchanged is because the Space Marines are all communicating on inter-suit vox channels. Their armor is environment sealed, this means no sound escapes either unless they turn on their external vox speakers. They're communicating with more than just hand gestures, we just can't hear it. This is why you can tell that something is very wrong because you can hear the Inquisitor's muffled yell "RECALL THEM IMMEDIATELY" after he hears the orbs converse, even though his helmet is still on.
When the Inquisitor overhears the conversation between the orbs, they say:
    Orb 1: Who's there?
Orb 2: I have failed, brother. We have all failed. The Astartes deny our touch. You must return. Break your seal.
Orb 1: Impossible! We'll never survive!
Orb 2: You must! Take them!
Additionally, Space Marines have enhanced genetics that allow them to shrug off pain that would paralyze normal humans, their blood clots almost instantly (that was the stuff he was coughing out at the end, and it clotted in 2 seconds), and their armor is equipped with automatic drug dispensers that will flood their system with painkillers after suffering a wound like having your hand blown off. They are engineered to be superhuman warriors that are incredibly hardy and difficult to stop.

I honestly didn't know about transferring constraints and I went through an animation program. Is that something you can just key like anything else? The way I learned it, an object that transfers to different characters can be duplicated and made invisible accordingly, but the way you describe it makes it way more efficient on a system.
