- Tapping into her unique heritage, Danikkah Josan set out to open a casual restaurant to blend her father’s Indian and mother’s Latina roots. The outcome is Taco Mahal. Located in the same spot where her father once ran a magazine stand for over 30 years, Josan dishes out reinterpretations of Mexican staples using classic Indian ingredients. Tacos come served on naan or roti, with fillings like Chicken Tikka Masala and toppings of various chutneys.
Now more than ever, thanks to Instagram, people are eating with their eyes. But does all this Instagrammable food actually taste good? What’s the story behind popular new food like Taco Pizza or Cheetos Macaroons? “Fork Yeah” answers these questions head on. This series goes to the source of the latest and greatest food trends and most ‘gramable dishes to find out how they taste and what inspired the making of them.

Secret spice= Garam masala
Basically the 'Sabzi' on the 'roti' served as one dish as opposed to served in a bowl with the roti, like we normally do in India
huh, with some celantro or coleslaw whatever, that's the salad in here lol
very innovative! just like Apple
So basically a Kati roll lol
thanks for telling us where it is. /s
7th ave and Barrow St. in NY's West Village.
Source: I pass by it a lot.
Every Indian place anywhere...
Let's be honest the best fusion in world for spice and strong flavour/ seasoning lovers.
this is just indian food...
no no no, it has mexican celantro see
what is more mexican than a taco?
What's Mexican about this? The celantro?
Cilantro isn't even exclusively Mexican. Cilantro (coriander) is super prevalent in India.
Trinon Cook yes I know that. But calling it celantro and not corrander is a gave. What's Mexican about this dish?
How it's all assembled I guess? Looks like if you disassembled it and you get a normal Indian dish. Cool marketing gimmick I guess?
Shaik Shamir it's assembled like a open-faced sandwich?
Nice josan I m from India Punjab ,(ferozpur) your father home city
Mmmm 😋
What's ingredient makes it a taco? The purple cabbage? I still want it, though, and enjoyed the video 👍
Was that a standard tortilla @2:48? 🤔 Yes, that lamb looks awesome. Great episode. 👍
you make me want to visit new york Just for the food
This place is decent but a bit pricy, that roti taco you saw is $5.99~ for one
10 bucks, seriously for a nun and some chicken, 5 bucks for 1 roti, 🤣 and chicken, habibi come to India, 2 INR for 1 roti, 300 INR for 1kg of butter chicken, vegetables for free
This is just naan with curry on top instead of serving them separately.
I want this.
half Punjabi and half Latina??? Whaaaaaaaaaaa?!?!? :D
Punjabi ik ho jaan ta sari duniya apni hi aa
There's literally juice falling off. It's a little too liquidy to be taco
I am starting to get the "This is not genuine" feeling. Anybody else knows what I'm talking about?
Its like he says the same things for every single food item in his videos xD
Its not like I'll ever try any of the food that are featured in the videos, considering, I live far away, but still... It kind of started to rub me the wrong way...
isn't chicken tikka massala a scottish invention?
so there is no mexican part and the only indian part of this is the naan.
still looks fantastic though, i really want a curry now
She's definitely Puerto Rican and Punjabi not Mexican
The tacos are small little meat , the bowl is also not enough if I pay 12+ for a platter I better get ENOUGH tasty food & the $8 taco is like 1/3 of a Chipotle burrito . They need to work with the appearance of the restaurant too. Disappointed . Not worth the hype
this guy is so dull
There was another place that did roti tacos a while back, it's a decent concept.
