    I had a 1990 model 6.2 when I lived in Alaska, I started it once at -47 F. I won't mention wrapping the engine with an electric blanket, having a percolator style block heater, battery blankets and oh, yeah, a blower heater blowing up under it. Drove it out of the mountains that day, the engine never warmed up until we came down to lower elevations even though the whole from of the truck was covered. It is only a fond memory because it was 30 years ago.

      @@haroldstrickland8416 oh damn that sucks. Right now, i have two bolts on the inner starter mounting hole. One that broke off quite far in, so i just left it there and rethreaded. The other is a cut 12mm that i put in underneath. Sounds sketchy considering that they break all the time, but i've not had any problems with it most likely due to the bracket

    Question: i'm from middle europe, and don't know much about these engines. Anyways; don't they have glowplugs?

    • @Catrik
      @Catrik  Рік тому

      Yes they do. Mine were not properly working and indirect injection diesel engines are not very good at starting in the cold in general.
