Might need some engine maintenance. Had been sitting over night, no engine heater was used.
Can STEP DRILL go through thick steel?
Переглядів 11 тис.4 роки тому
Yes, it can. The 4-20mm bit shown in the end is ground down so it will make an 16mm hole all the way through.

RC tank KV-2 1:10 #6 Project update!
Переглядів 3,3 тис.8 років тому
About to get driving it again! I ditched the old MY1016 motors I had - they were just too big to fit enough gear reduction. New motors are Dewalt 14.4V with 3 speed gearbox, mounted in DeWut mounts that I CNC-machined myself. e0designs.com/products/dewut-3-speed-gearmotor-kit/ They are pretty damn great for their power/size and the price is good compared to other options I have seen. I'm pretty...

The gearing is now pretty much as slow as possible with single stage reduction, but it still needs a lot more torgue on low speeds, especially when turning.
RC tank KV-2 1:10 #4 Test drive 2

Yep, it is loud. The tracks are a bit stuck~ish from welding but it should break in after a while. And the gearing is too long which also makes the movement so jumpy, I'm using about 25% throttle max here. -24V 350W MY1016 motors (running 14.8V Lipo for now) -Sabertooth 2x25 ESC -Tank is full steel, weights about 35kg in the current form -Will have a custom CO2 cannon with recoil action and aut...
RC tank KV-2 1:10 #2 First test drive

Tracks and tensioner need more work, tracks kept jamming and falling off. Gearing too high, motors way too powerful :D This test had 22.2V Lipo, I will switch to 14.8V. Motors are specced 24V 350W.

Valveless Pulsejet Engine
Переглядів 23813 років тому
Just a simple pulse jet I built in school about 5 or 6 years ago. It's been sitting in the garage since then because I didnt find any proper fuel feeding system for it and then I kinda forgot about it. Now I found it again and wanted to test if it works :) I had to do some finishing welding (this pulse jet was actually the first thing I welded in my life, so it wasn't really air tight at all), ...
The Detroit 6.2 are not good engines. These engines have cracks between the cylinders.
That poor truck went to shit in 11 years 😂 what a joke...
Some say out there is a fat drunk canadian with a peg leg drowning one of these in ether to this day
thats awesome! id love to drive a twin stick one day
Nice truck ya got there Mr Finland
Does soot prevent rust?
Yes, the sooted areas are always dry, even after rain 😁
It sounds like Mel Blanc's impression of a 1926 Maxwell.
Flappers are fun
Sounds like a bucket of bolts 😂😅
I just need to know what tires those are.
Ziarelli Mountain Devil
Sounds like a perkins
Pro Tip for 6.2 : FULLY Depress pedal while cold starting to Activate Pump Timing ADVANCE ... Helps a ton 👍🏼👍🏼
hhhhheeeeeeeelllllll yyyeeeeeAAAAAAAHHHHHHH BROTHER
Yeeeehaaaww!
الحمد لله اني ماني ساكن هناك البرد شديد هناك الله يكون في عنهم و حمد لله اني ساكن في خليج مستحيل تنزل درجة حراره عن 0 و في صيف توصل 50 عادي
Hi! Are you okay if I use a part of your video for my channel? I will mention you in the description, of course!
Go ahead, no problem! Thanks for asking
Everyone loves to hate in this engine cuz Ooo no power but the thing is a Detroit diesel, that's not the point, it's simple as anything, it's literally a 2 stroke, you can fix it yourself easily and it'll get the freakin job done.
Herrlich
Du bist herrlich!
I had a 91 with the commercial application 6.2 they use to put in the old school busses. It had over a million kms when I sold it. Sounded awesome but was it ever gutless. Can’t help but miss it though. It gets pretty cool in Canada but as long as she had healthy batteries she never let me down.
My dad used a 6.2 as a snowplow truck plowing for my uncle. He said hed come over to plow and the truck would just be idiling there. He said the thing sipped fuel and was perfect.
This is exactly what a dying 6.2 diesel would sound like
Souds great man!
Who needs power when you have low gear
Wonderful smoke coming out. Actually much and much too little, should have been much more. It can't be enough for me. And as long as it smells this good, I don't give a damn about the amount of poison, as long as it comes out!!
Apakah hanya saya yang kesini karena berita lucu kazakhstan?
Dude loves to buy starters
It's much easier when everyone knows what I want for xmas present!
😍
Buenisimo
I don’t miss my 6.2. I remember pulling a car to the scrap yard when flat tire the floor got passed by a Prius and a loaded cement mixer. Was a turd.
Just get a gasoline vehicle, it starts easier and cost less to service.
Question: i'm from middle europe, and don't know much about these engines. Anyways; don't they have glowplugs?
Yes they do. Mine were not properly working and indirect injection diesel engines are not very good at starting in the cold in general.
@@Catrik dear lord, that sounds like a damn museum down the hood. How much does a decent one in the US cost?
@@trotheimer3337 I dont know, Im not in the US. I think they have been going up in prices, they are getting more rare and they are pretty popular.
Qwantwz hp??
I had a 1990 model 6.2 when I lived in Alaska, I started it once at -47 F. I won't mention wrapping the engine with an electric blanket, having a percolator style block heater, battery blankets and oh, yeah, a blower heater blowing up under it. Drove it out of the mountains that day, the engine never warmed up until we came down to lower elevations even though the whole from of the truck was covered. It is only a fond memory because it was 30 years ago.
Love the rain cap
-6 and cold oil.... let's Rev it up some more that will help things... 🙄🙄🙄🙄
I'm pretty sure I heard the glow plug cycle twice LOL
Had a GMC Jimmy with a 6.2. Always a good starter. But sounded like you were in a fully loaded B17 bomber at 60mph
Put civilian 12 glow plugs in and take power from the passenger side of the resistor. When the glow plug board burns out put a switch. Mine starts in the cold no problem. I think I had 3 bad glow plugs when I fixed it
Thanks for the suggestions. This is a civilian truck, manual glow switch was one of the first mods I did.
It looked green like the 1008 or 1028. You can check the resistance of the glow plugs without taking them out.
what happened to your kv-2 tank?
Haha, it's over there in the living room inside a crate. Haven't really had any interest to work on it.
@@Catrik good to know :) also, i noticed an umbrella corp sign there, hehe, nice addition
Starts Like the junk it is
Why are you riding the starter like that? I don't understand?
Dont know what you mean
Какой идиот так сделал выхлопную
And that's why the ears for the starter bolts are alwayse broke off
Love the exhaust
Indeed, but even more of the tasty poisonous gas that comes out. It can't be enough for me. And as long as it smells this good, I don't give a damn about the amount of poison, as long as it comes out!!
@@a.jansen589 👍🏿👍🏿
And the award for best f'ng exhaust goes to ☝️ this guy!
What exoust setup you got???
3" true dual pipes with a short glasspack type mufflers
@@Catrik it's louder than mine stright piped
Not bad really! My 2007 powerstroke 6.0 modified won't start after sitting overnight in -20°C without being plugged in!
Sounds a lot like 6.5
What tires are those they look badass
Those old 6.2/5 engines were awesome and with regular maintenance, super reliable!! Too bad kids get them, crank them up and blow them
Hi Catrik, was your truck diesel factory? I’m swaping my k5 blazer which came with a gas 350 and the sm465 trans to a diesel 6.2 using the same trans Do you think that my sm465 will work like yours even if it came with a gas engine setup?
Yes, it is factory. AFAIK there should not be anything that special with swap like yours, but I don't have any specific details. I'm sure swap like that has been done many times and you should be able to find some forum posts with more info.
