I totally understand the need for some new shocks but those out of the box one's are not great for a smooth ride. I would have, and did, spend alot more for some Carli valve Fox's for that ultimate ride quality. You can't just spend an arm and a leg on go fast parts and be cheap on the ride portion. You'll love the Carli coils though. I have the 6" ones and love them, combined with other Carli products 👍
Someone's been watching CJC Offroad haha. No I completely understand what you mean. So I mentioned in the video that the truck will not stay this height for long since I will be lifting it next year. Although I got some good springs with the carli 2.5" I don't want to spend crazy money on stock height parts cause it's all gonna be off next year. I agree there are shocks out there better like the carli pin top with kings resi shocks but $400 vs $1200 is a big difference haha especially for only being temporary. These box shocks will do the job and they are doing it now. At 1st initial drive I didn't notice anything then after about 5 miles of driving on horrible roads I noticed there was a big difference. Common misconception people have is that shocks will make your ride better than coils. The coils are what give you the ride comfort, the shocks just dampen the shock from the axle articulating.
I took my spare tire out. It was the wrong size anyway. Im 6'6" and i can sit under there without crouching. Lol😂 not to mention its a great spot for onboard air. Your lucky, my front shocks go through the center of my coil springs. Not fun replacing those.
I bought that trac bar because of you a few years back. I remember too you switched from the heim steering back to plan o factory moog steering definitely a bang for its buck no doubt 🤘💯
Hell yeah with the carlis! i been on the fence with carli & thuren . for the front. i have bilstein. resis. i also put therein sway end links. those really helped the ride. keep it rolling stay safe from east coast Carolinas!
Appreciate it bro! The bilstein with resistor are hard to find haha I'm extremely happy with the the 5100s took her on the highway today and it was a big difference. It handles the bumps very good.
Hell yeah, I like their website very easy to use and the prices a best I could find. Even better than ebay haha I'm happy with these shock upgrades over stock!
Hey brother it looks like your front tires are over inflated air down and it will make the ride better and not bald in the center premature I did on my 07 it was a game changer
I actually took some air out the fronts and rear. Fronts were at 55 and rears were at 52. Aired the rears down to 45 and fronts 50. Gonna see how it rides and go from there. I will say these tires have a natural curve to them and the center tread was slightly higher idk if that was on purpose.
Oh yes bro these shocks are night and day. At first felt the same. Then was I hit a bumpy road it handled it much better! Also way less body roll than before. I recommend these for anyone looking for a nice upgrade from factory shocks
Hey Cam let us know how you did with the road test after the install of your new shocks I can concur about the roads in San Diego I was out there 2 weeks ago
Mannnn you got alll the good stufff
Might as well do wheel bearings too.
True that!
Get the new Carli backcountry shocks, there a little softer than the kings and a little less money than the kings
I got all thuren stuff for mine. It rides great better than stock. But I have the carli signature series shocks.
Hell yeah thuren has good stuff too 👌🏾
Looks way better without the shock boot bro.
Boots have a purpose. They are not for show!!
I agree haha it wasn't a hard choice but I stand behind it 😂
Yes you are right lol

Did you rear gear the truck when you added the 35’s.

Lol I'm almost in the same boat I'm 6 3 haha ill probably take it off. And I was thinking about the air horn kit that goes in that spot haha.

Oh yea bro, that trac bar on my 3rd gen was money! Helped with the ride and steering a ton!

Put these exact ones on my stock 2016 and it's been a huge difference. Also bought mine from shock surplus. Keep up the great videos.

Now she will ride better than ever.
Definitely helped out!
I put these on my 2012 2500 and it was like night and day. My stock ones which were 8 years old at the time didnt even rebound anymore lol.
