So glad I subscribed the other day. I get to watch this 5 minutes after upload. Edit: Finally finished the video. SOUND CLIP???! Maybe next time...but it's not my truck :P
This truck is so beautiful man! I have been going back to your videos for inspiration over and over again. I even swapped my front end from the early 3rd to late 3rd because I love this truck so much. My truck was my grandpas who unfortunately passed away when I was 11 years old in 2012, and it was handed down to me from my dad and I told my dad I would make it better than new. It’s very hard with how much has gone wrong and how much money it has cost me and my dad, but I’m trying to keep my chin up and get it well built and fully functional just like yours!
These trucks are ridiculously expensive to build out. Could do f250 for so much less, but you'll have what you want and it'll be a part of your family's history.
Love the channel, love your work. I really admire your passion for your dream truck. It is a beauty. I also loved it in stock form. Cleanest 3rd gen I've ever seen. Im more of a stock look guy. But your transformation is amazing too. Long live the manuals. I bought my dream truck 2 years ago. A '99 7.3 Super Duty 4x4 with a ZF6 rust free.
Thank you! My big thing with this truck (and all of them really) is reversible mods, so I can always go back to stock! To me that’s important for keeping the truck timeless.
If possible can we get a video of all the things you have done to it and what it cost you? How did it cost for just the parts and how much do the labor cost?
I did the same exact thing built my dream third GEN, and said I would never sell it then you get married and have kids, next thing you know, you're building a dream mega cab 4th or 5th gen. The quad cab does not cut it with more than one car seat. still have the third GEN but literally never use it for anything. It just sits probably gonna sell it lol
Yeah, rub it in that I’ve had my ‘07 3500 for three years and made minimal progress 😂. At least this keeps me dreaming and planning. Gorgeous truck, keep ‘em coming!
Love it man. Just inherited my dad's 3rd gen 6.7 but am going through major DW issues. Followed your process on working it out and 2500k later i am praying it's gone or minimized. Gonna do the lift next and see where it goes from there. Might be moving to Vegas and shipping either the the 4th or 3rd gen up for my daily. The 4th is better in all aspects but the nostalgia of the 3rd is hitting me more lol.
Very nice and you will like the HP bump when you go to the next step. My 06 is auto trans with Fass fuel pump and EFI but with water meth injection 60 over S & S injectors and a Fleece Cheetah
Man I wish I lived in the desert. Lower prices, lots of space, and I might get almost the exact same truck as you. Maybe a 3500, and more towing oriented suspension, but very similar aesthetic
Man, it is a beauty, I don't know what kind of job you have to drop the amount of coin you do, but man, you do a heckuva job on these trucks. I see several things I would like to do to my 06 2500, that you have done, but likely they will be a locker in the rear, 35's and a mild tune. When it's time to rebuild, then we can talk head studs and maybe a turbo. I think the suspension is probably needed, as it does ride like a tank.
I haven't touched suspension yet, did a normal double din radio, did clutch and bypass, tunes etc.... I have almost the exact Truck. Mine is blue and is a 3500. I haven't touched the suspension yet because A. I don't want to get worse mileage and B. I tow a good amount with it! (min is a 3500 aswell) . I more of a long bed guy, but the shorbed is convinient to daily if I want. Mine was also a Montana truck, 1 owner grandpa truck (found hearing aide battery's aswell 🤣) my truck had 150k so not too bad. I'm almost up to 190k already. Anyways, great job! I may have to check those tunes out so mine Smokes a touch less, and i may start slow, I kinda like the idea of Thurren Xtra soft front coils to level and get some leafs with airbags. That will give me like 2 inches lift. I'm also curious of a ballpark how much the wrapping cost, looks sweet!
If I win the lottery definitely building a clone but with a built automatic tho. no slack to a stick shift been a trucker for years driving stick hips and ankle worn down prefer automatic for nice drives. Beautiful truck
Do you have a list for non power adders? What if I just want the most reliable, durable, long lasting truck but couldn't care less about adding power? It seems as though steering and fuel are the upgrades for that, but are there any more? I'm looking to buy a bone stock 3rd gen 03-05 and just want to drive around the states with my enclosed trailer with a few motorcycles in it. Edit: if power is added due to a needed upgrade that's fine but that's not the goal.

I’ve worked to develop a high mount and low mount clamp with CJC, so these stabilizers can be used with the Apex linkage! Apex is going to be beefier tubing, beefier, replaceable joints, and an overall stronger setup. They also offer a lifetime warranty on the joints and linkage, which Synergy doesn’t.
Good question. I have allstate, but as far as I understand, modifications to this extent are a bit difficult to insure for unless you do declared value rather than traditional insurance. Long story short, I have a feeling my coverage isn’t adequate haha.
I kind of wish I went with the Dynatrac free spin kit like you did. The machining look a lot nicer and the stick out seems to be better but I wasn't able to find numbers on how much shorter the stick out is compared to others. I couldn't justify over $1000 difference over the Yukon.
@justdiesels Do you hit your 5in axle dump at all when flexed out? I’m just curious as I’m getting a 5in for my 2003 and I still can’t find the answer if it will hit when flexed out.
Yeah definitely. The ATS is a neutral stabilizer, so you can do nothing to account for tire pull. With the high/low carli setup I can fine tune nitrogen pressure to account for tire pull and road crown pull. Makes for an overall better driving feel than the ATS.
@ I am about to pull the trigger on Katzkin leather, they have a Black Friday special plus they can add custom Cummins logo on the leather - looking for someone who has used Katzkin for their truck, price is 2k - have you heard any good things or bad things about Katzkin?
I've been following your channel you have alot of great info. I've been wanting / looking for 07 Dodge 3500 Mega Cab but all I can find is 08 3500 Mega cabs with 6.7. I found one that has 216k miles on it it's been at the dealership for awhile now. Do you think it will worth getting or could be problem later? Any advice would be appreciated thanks.
6.7’s are great trucks if you tune and delete early to avoid tons of headaches down the road. But the only downside is smog. Hopefully you know a “guy”. With an 08 you don’t have to worry about DEF. AND you get 6 speed auto trans. If you get an 06 5.9 you get a 4speed auto or the unicorn 6speed. I love my 08 and will be my forever truck. Take care of it and it will take care of you. GL
It's a great build. Our trucks are extremely similar except mine is a Laramie sport with a 4 speed auto that got the BDS upgrade and torque converter. If you want to sell your lights when you replace them, let me know your price, I need to do mine.
Awesome videos man keep them coming. I’m from Australia and have come across a low mileage mint condition 3rd Gen 2500. Could you please tell me what the factory GVM payload is ? I can’t seem to find a strait answer on google. I’m a heavy diesel mechanic and would like to use this truck for work carrying heavy loads and wonder what they can carry. Plus is there any decent GVM upgrade kits around ?
Exactly, body shape, axle width, wheel width, and tire sizing all play a role into the fitment of your set up. You have to understand how everything works together on the particular platform to know how it’s going to look, and what specs will achieve the fitment you’re after.
Great build! I’m a disabled Veteran on a budget. Are you interested is repurposing your old parts. I have a 2006 5.9 Cummins with 225,000 miles. Needs love since I’m the 3rd owner. 👊🏼
Two questions……which shop did the wrap? Second question, I’m in so cal as well and I’d be interested in buying your carli hi and low steering stabilizer if and when you upgrade. I’ve got an 06 5.9 4x4 with 150 on the clock. I appreciate all the videos, keep it up!
American Wrap Co did the work, and I’d highly recommend them. The team is literally one of the best out there for the work. americanwrapco.com is their site. As for the stabilizers, I’ll be keeping them with the linkage upgrade!
The leaf springs themselves reduce capacity, but it’s easy to supplement with either Carli long travel airbags, or Timbren bump stops, which is what I use. Just bolt them in towing and then remove when done.
much respect then man! you got gold and you obviously know it. you're in the 1% of people that love this hobby and have as many rigs as you have in this condition @@JustDiesels
I’m guessing he gets most of the parts and labor at a steep discount. No one one who really “works their ass off” would dump 50grand into a 20 year old truck.

Hell Yeah Brother 🇺🇸🦅
Great truck, like the badge removal (a must) Cummins badge only looks good!
I just installed the Apex steering on my 06 crew cab long bed, the support from the folks at Apex is the best!

Yes do tell....did the truck sell?
I got a mini Van instead of selling my truck 😎
Why do you have to have a 4th or 5th gen? Didn’t 3rd gens have a megacab?
That's a beautiful truck. I'm envious of your rust-free 3rd gen! My '09 is in old-man-Gold (Champagne) and I'm dying to get a new bed for it.

Gen 4 leather with the 3 cup holder console would be nice to see. I have heard that the shifter needs to be bent slightly to avoid interference.
Super nice job with the truck and the video! Look forward to more great content, Cheers!
Thank you!
Finally a real truck on UA-cam and not some ugly toy like all the others.
If I win the lottery definitely building a clone but with a built automatic tho. no slack to a stick shift been a trucker for years driving stick hips and ankle worn down prefer automatic for nice drives. Beautiful truck
looks Awesome!
Just bought an 06 mega cab 5.9 hoping to build it to be half as decent as yours it was an old work truck so needs lotta love 132k miles
Great video! Thanks 🙏
Great truck!
Would love to know more about the process, before and after, and your thoughts on the Xpel protection film!
Do you have a list for non power adders? What if I just want the most reliable, durable, long lasting truck but couldn't care less about adding power? @@JustDiesels Do you make the engine bay mount and cab mount for an 03? That is a sweet setup.
CJC and I got it designed and built! Figured these older trucks deserve some nice parts too.
@@JustDieselsthe 08 Laramies have an adjustable foot pedal control switch there. Guess we can’t mount that 3D switch pro there. 😂
Us SLT peasants just have a blank spot!
What’s the update I’ve been building mine and love watching yours
I’m just enjoying the truck! All I’ve added since this is an axle truss.
Which steering dampener will you run with the apex steering? How does the Apex setup compare with the updated mopar and synergy?
I’ve worked to develop a high mount and low mount clamp with CJC, so these stabilizers can be used with the Apex linkage! Apex is going to be beefier tubing, beefier, replaceable joints, and an overall stronger setup. They also offer a lifetime warranty on the joints and linkage, which Synergy doesn’t.
Curious where you are insuring the truck, how are you covered if the truck is totaled? Love the channel, Thanks!
Good question. I have allstate, but as far as I understand, modifications to this extent are a bit difficult to insure for unless you do declared value rather than traditional insurance. Long story short, I have a feeling my coverage isn’t adequate haha.
I was wondering the same. A truck this nice needs stated value otherwise insurance will screw you so hard.
Beautiful build! What kind of fuel mileage do you see? I get up to 21 mpg with a 2016 4wd 6.7 cummins. It's deleted and tuned.
I would like to know also. The best I have ever gotten is 19mpg on my 2006 5.9, 37in tires, 3.73 gears, G56. I only average 12 in the city now.
@@ericl5973poor environment
I get 21 w my 08 6.7 4x4 as well.
Anybody know what this guy does in his day job? These videos are awesome, but the amount of money he throws at these projects is insane.
Hey how do you like the banks intake horn? Notice any performance gain?
Absolutely love “the Dodge” just curious.. I’m thinking 20k on total build ? close ?? glad you’ve been able to live the dream with the truck 💯👌
I kind of wish I went with the Dynatrac free spin kit like you did. The machining look a lot nicer and the stick out seems to be better but I wasn't able to find numbers on how much shorter the stick out is compared to others. I couldn't justify over $1000 difference over the Yukon.
I had Yukons on the last truck and they’re super solid hubs. Don’t regret those for a second!
Are those 4th Gen ram mirrors without the running lights?
I would of kept it stock just looks better in my opinion but those big tires sure do look sweet!
@justdiesels
Do you hit your 5in axle dump at all when flexed out? I’m just curious as I’m getting a 5in for my 2003 and I still can’t find the answer if it will hit when flexed out.
how much did you get the truck for, and how much do you estimate all of your mods cost as well?
Nice build! Quick question: why the S&B intake vs the other options (Banks, etc)? Been trying to find comparisons without much luck.
I have a 2006 Ram 3500 dually which I am building for towing instead of speed (don’t care about getting there to quickly) this is my last truck too
Did you change axle gear ratio? What’s the average mpg with new tunes
How do you pass California smog check with straight pipe?
Whats your MPG on it? Please let me know i would love to know thanks
From Grandpa to "I'm parked out front of the food court babe"🤣
If you know the new owner of the last truck you should definitely take pics of them next to each other
I do! Sadly he’s all the way in Colorado, but someday we’ll get them together.
Super jealous
what is the expected or recommended life of the wrap?
It has a 10 year warranty, but if stored inside you’ll get an even longer lifespan out of the film. It’s extremely nice stuff.
Does that halo 9 have a power button or is it on when the truck is on essentially always on? And can you control the brightness?
It’s on with the truck like a normal head unit, and does have a wire to tap the factory dimmer in the dash.
So as of now I think you have the apex steering and the dual carli stabilizers. Do you like that feel better than with the Fox ATS setup?
Yeah definitely. The ATS is a neutral stabilizer, so you can do nothing to account for tire pull. With the high/low carli setup I can fine tune nitrogen pressure to account for tire pull and road crown pull. Makes for an overall better driving feel than the ATS.
What tow mirrors did you swap to?
Where did you get the front tow hooks?
I have never own a truck, is a ram 2500 a good choice as the first pickup ?
Did you put leather seats in your 3rd gen? What are your thoughts on Katzkin leather covers?
Not yet. Still looking at options
@ I am about to pull the trigger on Katzkin leather, they have a Black Friday special plus they can add custom Cummins logo on the leather - looking for someone who has used Katzkin for their truck, price is 2k - have you heard any good things or bad things about Katzkin?

All you need is an OBD2 splitter to run both.
@@JustDiesels I dig the srt10 gage pod and cts3 insight combo. It's very clean.
How much is that self healing clear wrap?? That’s cool!!!😎💪🇺🇸
That probably cost about 6K-8K if not more. Its insanely expensive

No, it’ll tow just the same. All their suspension is designed to maintain factory tow ratings.
The leaf springs themselves reduce capacity, but it’s easy to supplement with either Carli long travel airbags, or Timbren bump stops, which is what I use. Just bolt them in towing and then remove when done.
Did you re gear your axles?
I did not. With 37s I'm still turning over 2k rpm at 70 because of the gearing on the G56.
Who makes the rear fender liners?
They’re factory Mopar liners
Thank you! Love the channel!
this makes me wanna sell my 2g and buy a 3g lol
How much are you in for all the mods?? I'm getting into this soon and curious what the rabbit hole will cost me..
Hard to say, as I’m thankful that I’ve been able to work with almost all the companies involved on this truck. Definitely makes it more attainable!
that's what I figured, but for the average Joe...what would be a good guess?@@JustDiesels
@@juscallmericabout 15k on suspension alone. Starting adding up from there lol
my guess would be close to 100k, but i would like to know too haha
Yeah honestly if you take the actual value of the truck plus mods, it’s maybe 80-90… kinda nuts.
All it needs now is 40’s 😉
If only it had an nv5600
why not a mega cab?
I honestly just don’t like the look, and prefer the handling of the shorter wheelbase.
@@JustDiesels on a trail? cuz definitely not with a trailer
Yeah off road the quad short bed feels like a rally car. I love it!
She looks nice. I have a 3rd gen and all I’ve ever wanted to change is the god awful ride quality
Do you think you'll ever own/build a 4th gen?
I’d love to at some point!
Why does every cali truck guy put on methods or kmcs?
This has neither of those
Because Brocal!
This dude grew up with rich parents lol im hating becasue i grew up poor
I work my ass off for everything I have. That’s why you see me take care of it rather than blowing it up for views.
much respect then man! you got gold and you obviously know it. you're in the 1% of people that love this hobby and have as many rigs as you have in this condition

@@gamecrazy203 make diesel trucks your job and you also get to own cool rigs
I’m guessing he gets most of the parts and labor at a steep discount. No one one who really “works their ass off” would dump 50grand into a 20 year old truck.
@@DolphinDivingChamp I wish that would be the dream job.
