Good god you're skilled my man. I'm a commission painter myself, and I'm confident in my work, but watching the ease with which you airbrush is humbling. At the same time, I feel like you really do live up to the "secretly easy" name with how good you are at teaching. Keep it up, homie! You've got a gift for damn sure.
I don't collect Death Guard but i've just brought Mortarion off a friend to paint up after watching this..... absolute beautiful model and what a job youve done
Just found your Morty video looking for ideas for my giant rotten fuck, and I got way more than I bargained for! I love the tips and you really made me feel like I could try more with my airbrush. I have honestly been scared to death to try much more than prime and base. Ganna have to power through a bunch of your stuff! Keep it up!
Appreciate this style of video from NLP. I've been painting for years now, but added the airbrush to my arsenal late last year (game changer!). Watching solid 'down to earth' explanations and longform implementation of these technics is are critical. Thank you NLP for taking the time to make these longer vids.
Not only an awe inspiring piece, but I have to say thank you for painting him in the only non-poser death guard scheme 30k/Pallid Hand. Especially for the primarch he should look like he's still wearing what he was wearing before.
Been a patreon for a while, and hands down my favorite artist to support. I love the evolution of your style, and I'm glad to pattern my style after it.
I liked the video and I liked the outcome of the mini a lot. I also liked your voice and style of talking which was a little bit less aggressive and hyped up compared to your older videos. I like this new calmer style a lot more. Keep on going!
Man. This video might have some of the most unique and insightful lessons to open my virgin mini painting eyes on UA-cam. Once I get some more practice in and grab some more minis I gotta be jumping on your Patreon mate. Epic shit.
Kenny, This video just helped me unblock my mental hurdle on blending wet paints, inks, and pigments. Great job breaking it down to some core abstractions like the opacity and wetness; plus the stippling. I'm ready to finish that Mutalith Vortex Beast that I painted in a filthy, swampy, color scheme blessed by Grandfather Nurgle.
My man, amazing video. Especially the section about pin washing was to me mind blowing, talking about next level painting compared to most other painters. Keep up the amazing work.
Dude I hate and love your presenation style at the same time. You literally taught me everything I know about how to airbrush though so you have a patreon for life. Also How many bourbons did you have before you filmed that intro?
You make great content Kenny! I always look forward to your videos and watching your process, one day I hope to match your airbrush mastery! You're looking healthy and ready to tackle another year :)
Mortarion tutorial is making me feel like buying the model and doing everything in this video but except with my own painting style he makes it look so easy I know he has years of experience but still it's just the way he does it
Great Scheme! I wana copy this but seems like no Bright Warm Grey available in the UK for the foreseeable! Any suggested replacements? I have Secret Weapon Weathered Wood which may work?
man, I really have to tell you that unless your physically cannot airbrush because of your environment you just need to get set up one. The alternative is to at 100 hours to this paint job. Or just be content with less blending.
Hey mate, I love the way you did Mortarion, but i have a couple of questions about; how did you change the different shape of wings?? face?? and hand?? Are bits, or just you transformed it. Thanks for your videos :)
Noticed when you airbrush and are setting up shadows that you stay away from black and instead go for a dark version of the main color. I do that too, but it seems kinda rare - everybody still wants to slapchop and they hit things with BLACK for shadows and it frustrates me. Black is too dark! Shadows aren't black - they are gray, brown, blue, etc but DARK.
This is a channel the algorithm brought me Channel name is straightforwardly pompous - high bar to set The painting results show skill and I watch many different painting tutorials and figure painting demonstration vids from many different content creators. Presentation style varies enormously across them and I'm open minded but this one is a resounding Hell No! Absurd affectation that doubtless will still impress some folks and why not. I'll watch a couple more with the sound off to see if I see anything useful
@@NextLevelPainting And there you go showing a mind and a generosity that straight out belies my immediate impressions, seems they were just "assume" - and we know what that's worth. Kudos, and a rethink.
@@NextLevelPainting You do, and I don't doubt it does to some extent, but you know that and make your informed choice - any brand needs separation from the rest if it's to prosper and your presentation style certainly does that. Coming to us from a beatslab in California is a world away from the rural cornish coast and that makes a difference. I don't mean that unkindly, your presentation persona might not be nearly as different on your home ground. I'm old these days and if I'm honest in my youth (70s,80s) I listened to worse rock and metal assumed persona on radio just to be able to find and record tracks I couldn't get anywhere else. Watched it again, this time with the sound on all the way to the end and the persona eases down later on, the explanations and ideas tho keep coming. I do entirely and especially love the armour and those shoulderpads. And I've been tested (how I've been tested) and I'm GW aesthetic negative. No shoulderpads that would make a nose tackle laugh, no womble (rat) nosed helmets, no skulz, no till receipts as jewellery, no wood burning backpacks, no armoured flares and no nerf guns. Nothing a ninja turtle would be embarrassed to wear. So for me to absolutely love that baroque trim against that shell colour is definitive proof of your painting smarts and I respect them. I pin wash or panel line nearly everything I do but I think I liked it even more before you so carefully used that wash. The wash works perfectly to do what it's for and it's used really well, but actually I think I like the interplay of those colours so much, I want them super matt and side by side with no separation but their natural play off each other. My dislike is now a like and there's no doubt the mistake was a lack of judgment on my part, and I followed it up with more assumption based response. So long as you're doing you, and once the persona branding had been established at the start and it was on to the shared love of painting, (it seems like that was the case) it's ok. Likely by then I was watching but not listening which is another error as you really explain the painting as you go. Obviously as you say, we've already met brother, I raise a glass of the best stuff and the best compliment I can give you is that as well as copying that colour choice, I'll be working through your back catalogue

Love the colors...looks perfect for someone like me who loves Tzeentch and Nurgle. :D
Kenny,

I'm ready to finish that Mutalith Vortex Beast that I painted in a filthy, swampy, color scheme blessed by Grandfather Nurgle.
Your looking healthy Kenny. Still my fav style painter
Kind words 🙏
Good to see you back in the beats lab bro 🤘😎🤘

Outstanding work! What would be the citadel or Vallejo alternatives for the black brown, bright yellow green and bright warm grey?
What a comeback! Consider me re-followed on Patreon
Don't call it a come back...I been here for years! - ll cool j
thx! great manuals man!

Ya
Fucking straight motivation, here I go!!!
Bruh love your videos, but that flicker filter when you're talking at the camera is super hard on the eyes.
I love this channel, although I don't own an airbrush and shan't for along time. So what would be a good technique to use as a non airbrush user?

Long episode=GOOD.
Bob Ross didn't make 5 minute episodes.
Kenny Boucher=Master Level
Long Form!
