With agrex Shade do you add more water to it? When I’ve used that wash in the past it seemed to not wash as well as what I’ve seen in UA-cam videos but more painted the model brown with streaks

For the sub-assemblies we only kept the scythe and the smoke separate but after painting him up I would probably recommend separate arms and wings as well.

Plastic Glue melts the plastic joint together. It's 100% enough. Although you'll need to hold it in place while it dries which may take several minutes.
