In this full, in depth guide we show you how to paint this iconic character from Games Workshop from start to finish, everything you need to know to paint this iconic character.

    Anyone have any advice for those living in arid climates and trying to paint edge highlights? I find that the paint dries on the 00 brush before I even get it to the model, and the only way I can do an edge highlight is to overly thin the paint but then it gets everywhere and does not create a clean thin line. Thoughts?

    @Duncan: please can you advise how to use shade paints on surfaces without leaving a glazed effect?
    Big fan of your master class techniques, here and on whtv. Keep up the good work.
    I try to go for matte colors schemes with my models and the problem I have with using shades is that, in general, it produces a shiny, glazed effect on the model. The effect I find most pronounced on flat surfaces such as armour, skin or cloth. Aside from drybrushing, is there any way to avoid this? Many thanks.

    Why is he so Angron all the time?

  • @Kerath
    @Kerath Рік тому +26

    It's not just about how clean you paint the minis, it's about how you can take such an amazing project like Angron and divide it into easy to follow pieces.
    You make painting look and by that, BE easier, with enough patience, anyone can reach these levels. Especially on a big model like this one, where edge-highlighting is a bit easier.
    Games Workshop lost not only a talented painted, but a very talented and patient teacher, something that won't be easy to replace. Amazing video.

      @Ouwesnuifduif1 Рік тому

      Yeah the same for me, i will use the same colours for his skin and the sword but will definitely tone down the brass. Its a bit too shiny for my personal liking. Havent decided if i wanted to do iron or a darker more desatured brass

    • @paul80085
      @paul80085 Рік тому

      @@Ouwesnuifduif1I found the use of a warm bronze color a bit odd given all the red skin. Runelord Brass from Citadel is much more of a cold tone and really balances the official studio piece

    Duncan i have been watching so many of youzr videos and i really admire your kind of painting, but may i ask you a question to why are you not basecoating your miniatures anymore and just going on top of it with the colours itself. I stiill use my old paining techniques, where i basecoat the miniatures with black, white or in special cases another basecoat. Is there a reason, why you are doing this directly on the plastic? I would like to know, because every time i see it i am puzzled by this.

    A right proper Primarch , for sure! But I'm puzzled as to why you went to the trouble to paint the plugs in his arms when the shoulder pads were going to cover them up? I also, had it been me painting this monster, would've worn a glove on my hand holding the miniature so as to keep the paint from rubbing off where I touch it. But dang, this thing is MIGHTY, Duncan.
