I've posted this a couple of times when I see reactors do this song and now it's your turn... this song, to me, is sort of like the life of NF. He sits there and thinks to himself and talks to himself about how much he hates himself and is depressed and anxious and has all kinds of emotions going on. He's saying this all in his head and then when the song picks up, it's almost like the scene in WHEN I GROW UP where he's on stage and the crowd erupts. This is the part where he's saying it out loud for all of us to hear it. This is him performing how much he hates himself and we all eat it up like he's just doing music and then much like WHEN I GROW UP, when he steps off stage and is by the sink all alone, the music fades away and the pain is still there.. he still hates himself. He's still alone. He doesn't have to perform it and feel like he's doing anyone a service because he still hates himself... listen to the song again with this perspective and you might understand how I take it a little better. He talks to himself and writes his songs about his feelings, he then performs it and has hype when he does, and then when he gets off stage he still has the feelings of hating himself. Such a powerful song. I love this album so much.
I agree. A large part of me wishes there was a way to create the perfect letter addressed to Nate from his most loyal fans explaining to him how much his music means, has and always will mean to us no matter if he decides to never write another song or perform another concert. I fear he feels like he will be abandoning those who are saved by his music if he stops and decides to put 100% of himself into his family and life. Maybe if he knew that millions of his fans expressed to him that it would be a bummer if he decided to take a long long break but we would totally understand. I love him and how his music has helped me in life but i dont feel like its right for me to anticipate his next album year after year if he needs to stay struggling to be able to create it
@Matthew Taylor he even mentions that in his songs where we all love him for his struggles and if he isn't struggling, how can he keep making music. It is a sad thing to think about and I know damn well that even if he never made another song, I'll blast everything he's made so far.
This song saved my life. I was at the end of trying to explain to my husband and parents where I was. I didn’t feel believed. I sent them this song and they got me help immediately.

Life is real, and he's not the only one going through it. It hits harder and harder each time, and no matter what it's just about pushing harder and harder than what's in front of us, or in this case inside of us...
I've been on NF for about 2 years now and I just love the way you've went through this journey have slowly been able to visualize what he's actually saying... it's not always easy to interpret is music and I appreciate the way you do.

It keeps me captured in such a dark mind space and it's just not healthy for me. Last time I listened to this song was about two or three years ago and now that NF is dropping new music I've started to re-explore all of his stuff. It still manages hits hard in different ways.

Don, if you want to watch a great interview that Nate does watch "NME- In Conversation". This is from 3 years ago. NF doesn't like doing interviews at all. It messes with his anxiety. I watched another interview from when he was in Germany. That interviewer was wack and had no idea about him or his music really. He has a few interviews on UA-cam, but the one I gave you is the best one out there.
