- This episode of Lowkey Deep with NF is super special to me! As I'm sure you know NF does'nt really do that many interviews or even promo so I was super honored to even get the opportunity to talk to him. But on top of that he was nothing but kind, humble and open enough to answer my nosy questions. We talked about his upbringing, his process of writing music and mental health. Of coure NF also told me about how his new Album HOPE came together.
This is a super special episode of Lowkey Deep with rapper NF! As I'm sure you know, NF doesn't do many interviews or promo, so for me to get the opportonity to sit down with him for an interview was just wild! NF was nothing but kind, humble, and open as we delved into his upbringing, his music writing process, and his mental health. Of course I also wanted NF to share some insights into how his new album HOPE. I hope you have as much fun with this interview as I did - let me know what you think below :)!

I met him today! He came to Chicago for signing, I cant lie, when i made eye contact with him and spoke to him, just in general he looked so happy. It was refreshing to see tbh

This is NF's best album. The lyrics in these songs are truly unbelievable. He is rapping about real things like he always does but this album hits different. Grateful.

I don’t know NF at all personally, but listening to ‘Hope’ and ‘Mama’ made me so proud as a fan and human being. Going from ‘The Search’ saying he’s looking for the map to hope, and then him finding it in ‘Hope’ is awesome. And then going from ‘How Could You Leave Us’ to ‘Mama’ is a whole other level. Like he said, it’s a different emotion but definitely good emotion. From a human standpoint, you just feel happy for him and proud of him for ‘Mama’. Also, I’m a big fan of ’Happy’
On hope that one with cordae, and my favorite song pandemonium was excellent too.
He's so much more relaxed and open than the 2020 NF. It's beautiful to see.
I think it’s mostly because he’s doing an interview on a small channel no offense. If he knew millions would see it immediately he would be more tense
Also think @Cassandra makes him comfortable.
Loved it too! couldn't sense any tension at any point like some other interviews with other hosts.

I wish the interviewer was a true NF fan. So many great questions would have come from it that we all want answered.

I love how down-to-earth he is. He is definitely someone you can relate with👏👏
As a young artist myself, it kinda gives me a little comfort and a little motivation to know that a professional like NF goes through the same things I do when making music. I'm grateful that he's so open with his struggles🙏🏿it helps more than he might realize.
Mama was exactly what NF said it was. So grateful to see him get to acceptance and forgiveness on his path of grief.
Thankfully my mother is alive and well, but this is the song that has had me in tears. It’s really interesting listening to ‘How Could You Leave Us’ and then ‘Mama’ back to back. He’s really arrived at a place of forgiveness and grace, and I’m so glad for that.
Nate at this point is big enough where he could literally do promo or get interviewed on any big radio or late night talk show if he wanted to, him deciding not to and to do a interview on somewhere like here says a lot. *hats off*

This is amazing! I saw the title to this video and that it was actually Nate sitting there and I was literally stopped in my tracks. This makes me so incredibly happy and I'm only about 10 minutes in and it's already so good. Nate has helped me and the way I think about stuff and it's so awesome to see him doing an interview.

46:50 man Mama was amazing exaclty for what Nate said here, we have seen all his progression, and hearing him say "I forgive you mama" on Hope was so good that I left some tears fall just with that sentece, so listening to Mama was really beautiful for me and I really did cry with it, I would say almost as How could you leave us did. Love you NF!
He was so right when talking about Mama. Mama and Running were such great songs because I’ve been able to see where he has come from and see where he is now. The album is truly a work of art!

Nate, you have no idea how much you have shaped my life through your music. I totally understand what you mean when you question what you would write or rap/sing about if you were to let the “battle damaged” version of yourself slip away. There are definitely undertones of that theme throughout the Hope album. And I think I can speak for a large part of your fan base when I say that we’ll rock with you no matter what the theme is. Even if the music were to transition to a super happy NF, we would be here for it. We are loyal. We feel so proud at the strides you have made to start climbing out of that dark place and in a weird way, I feel like a lot of us are climbing out of it with you. That’s the power of your music, brother!
The fact that Nate is wearing gray sweats, gray socks and slides is amazing and hilarious. Dude just doesnt care what anyone thinks.. he’s just truly himself - life goals!

He's right, his fans that have followed his journey over the years felt a different type of way when they heard Mama. I cried, but they were tears of happiness because I could hear and feel the sense of closure that I've been hoping for years he would find. It was a different type of emotion, and I know I'm not the only one that heard it and felt relief and genuine happiness for him that he was able to record that and let go of some of that hurt that's festered in him his whole life. He deserves it.
I felt the same way as u did
Mama, Happy, and Running really hit me super hard. With Happy and Running being the most relatable to me, he was entirely right about Mama in this interview. When I listen to it now it’s flooring to hear the amount of forgiveness and love in it. Happy and Running both made me bawl, thank you for the personal and hopeful record Nate. Love you man!

I still remember the track "All I Have" we grew up with NF.
Seeing NF in interview will just make you leave all you were doing on internet and pay attention to the answers he will give to the interviewer. I just loved the humility . No fancy what no drip what what . NF is real in interviews, real in song writing and real in his videos.

"I rather not have a row" You deserve your own section Nate. You make music like no other. I don't believe that there is another artist out there that is able to put the raw emotion into their music with such clean, and strong lyrics like you do. Thank you for your music and thank you for doing everything that you do.
I 100% agree that comparing artists to each other is not a good thing. That being said, if you like personal, hard-hitting lyrics, I'd recommend NF obviously, but also Ren and Twenty One Pilots. They are all different and unique in their own right, but I think their music resonates to similar-minded people. They all resonate to me, at least.

NF and Tommy really did create a whole new genre of music over the years, a unique lane of his own. Cinematic rap like no other. I hope he comes back to Australia some day - I don't really like crowds or concerts because there is so many people but my sister came with me and we absolutely loved it! Truly appreciate the way he has mastered his art. I'm always excited to hear how he articulates his thoughts and experiences and always look forward to the instrumentals on each song! Shot out from Ukraine, listening to NF helped me A LOT and I mean A LOT, during these times, I binge listened to him for like a year, nothing but his songs, and this interview is a nice type content for fans, Big fan of Nathan, when I was working in USA logistics business (over the seas dispatcher for some company) Nathan was the name I chose to introduce myself to drivers, simply because of him. NF thank you for Hope. Not only is it one of the best albums of the year, I can honestly say it’s one of the best albums I’ve ever heard. The emotional impact so many of these songs had on my spirit, the FIRST listen, is mind blowing. What’s even crazier is you wouldn’t classify me as your typical consumer fan. I’m a mom of 4 children and a grandparent of 2. If you do the math.. I’m fairly old. My son had me listen to happy and I was hooked. The melody, the lyrics, the journey that song takes hit me like no other. I became a fan right then and there. I now listen to all the songs and I think they are more than music. They are story telling in a new lane. You said you’re your own worse critic, but you need to know that your talent is God given, because it has touched not only my heart, but my spirit as well. I can’t thank you enough for all the hard work and hours you devoted to this album. I think it’s ground breaking for so many reasons. Happy and Running are two of my favorite songs ever, but I love all of the tracks for different reasons. I hope it gets album of the year. It truly deserves it. Thank you for filling my spiritual cup up.

I don’t usually name NF in a row with other artists, he’s definitely making something different.
I think the closest I'd list him with now is Ren, but probably because they're my two obsessions right now. Ren also raps and sings. He makes song about mental health. Most importantly, he does things differently. His own lane. But he's the only one.
