I've had this issue before too, figured out that the easiest fix (for me atleast) is to go into "C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\AMD" and delete the CN folder. After that the software should start/open again.

Thank you for this, I have been having this problem for about a month or two and I couldn't figure out what to do. I won't lie though, throughout the process I was nervous because I'm not super knowledgeable when it comes to pc and troubleshooting, so when I finished the process and it fixed the issues I was very relieved. I will definitely be referring back to this video if I ever run into this problem again.
As a complete computer novice I found this process very difficult and confusing... at first. But after a very stressful hour and listening to you very carefully I managed to fix the problem. May have angered my girlfriend in the process but no great victory is achieved without any sacrifices!

You did go through the steps a little fast but this DID IN FACT FIX THE ISSUE! Thank you so much. I was at wits end trying to fix it. I gave up after about 10 hours of trying to fix this. Again thank you so much! Wish AMD addressed this but nothing about this.
Uh you just pause the video until youre done with one step at a time.
Personally I just Play at 0.75 speed and muted 🤷♂️

*UPDATE FRESH WINDOWS 10 install, old windows 10 install. STILL DOES NOT WORK. Anything past august 2021 drivers on radeon rx 6600 xt breaks the software and it does not launch.
Before going on the adventure of safe modes/uninstall drivers etc. Try this (I solved always this error like that):
1 Locate this file "C:\Users\\AppData\Local\AMD\CN\gmdb.blb"
2 Delete it
3 Restart computer
Some people maybe remember that in the past Steam had this kind of problems and you could delete the file "Clientregistry.blob" and restart and like magic steam was fixed. This is exactly like that.
Hope it helps before you need to uninstall nothing.
Doesn't work
I don't think that AMD is actually working on fixing this.
However I believe I have found something (at least something that works for me).
As always, I am not responsible for what you do, and if following my guide makes your computer explode, it's not my fault.
I am asking some of you who are affected by this bug and ever had Epic Games Launcher installed to try this:
Exit Epic Games Launcher if you have it open (right click it in the notification tray and click Exit)
Open the folder %localappdata%\EpicGamesLauncher\Saved
Rename the Logs folder to something like LogsBackup
Try to open Radeon Software and hope it works
Please respond if it fixed your issue or not, or if you don't even have the EpicGamesLauncher folder.
If I find out it doesn't actually work and it was just a coincidence, I will edit this post to correct it.

I've been trying to fix this for almost 2 hours, I tried several videos and nothing worked. Coincidence or not, both the Epic launcher and Fortnite were updated these days on my PC. Is that it then?

thanks for this, before this my display was messed up and both my monitors were showing the same image i tried everything i could think of besides drivers until i saw this life saver
Same issue with me lmao I was playing Watch Dogs 2 because legion got boring, fired a shot and my GPU crashed, if I know anything about AMD it's definitely Drivers, they don't work if they're out of date like Nvidias does.

This is a great way to fix this but I looked through the amd folder and found the amd cleanup utility and it completely wiped all amd and display drivers I found this to be easier than going through the programs list Uninstalling and trying to delete the amd folder it does it all for you and it boots you into safe mode before it does it

So I couldn’t get into safe mode because my computer didn’t give me the option, but I continue the tutorial anyways and now it starts up! Great walk through!
After a few consecutive blue/green screens (I thinks it's 3), it will automatically enter the safe mode. All you have to do is cause them.
Thank you! I was trying to disable Virtual Super Resolutions since they gave me issues with Parsec streaming anything from my desktop to my laptop but Radeon Software decided it's not a thing I can adjust.

Well, following these steps got the software to show in the taskbar (where it wasn’t appearing at all prior to these steps) but it still won’t open the UI at all

Click guide links on the same website. It will redirect you another web site with an other download link so you can get it there. Had the same issue

This might be a video from 2 years ago, but it just saved me. I haven't updated my GPU since this PC was built cause my roommate had never put one together himself. I was having a lot of issues in games, but I followed this and now I'm having basically no issues. My AMD application would never show up and I was always confused as to why when I was looking up how to update drivers.

Fax, literally had to reinstall drivers every time I turned on my pc because Adrenaline refused to open. Trash cards, trash support.

Just to add - I had this issue in November 2021, none of this fixed it. When I checked, I still had NVIDIA drivers and apps installed, so I uninstalled them, and hey presto! It works!

Man, you saved my bacon! Thanks and subscribed! My only glitch was that apparently I have my documents backed up on dropbox cloud only, so even dragging them to the desktop meant that I only had placeholders on the computer and in safe mode with no Internet or dropbox i could not access the original files. I had to restart without safe mode and put the files on my archive Drive D, And restart in safe mode from there.

Thanks for the vid! not sure if it would solve my issue tho. I can open the software from the system tray and it will show an update is available. I download and click install. I get a pop-up saying AMD will make changes or something to that effect. I click Ok and..nothing happens. I've tried manually installing the update file. The files extract. I restart my machine and nothing is updated. The last previous successful update was 20.9.1 more than a year ago
In my case this thing it doesn't work at all, i have to install a previous version of the drivers and put the "factory version" and install again and it worked

idk what is going on but i tried this and did not help my problem when every i try to open my amd drivers it hits me with the message "C:/Windows/SYSTEM32/MFCORE.DLL is either not designed to run windows or it contains an error.
Update: My Embedded chip required AMD's Radeon Pro software to run, not the website's Adrenalin version.
This didn't work for my embedded System On Chip (SOC). Computer is using an AMD Ryzen Embedded R1505G with Radeon Vega Gfx on a compact single board computer. The AMD software will install and cleanly remove on the Windows 10 20H2 & 21H1 builds. Clicking on the AMD app in the search bar, open, run as admin will only budge the Windows 10 circle, then it never opens. Windows 10 or AMD problems are still present; this will need more work to solve. AMD software removal tool was also used for drivers, but the results are the same as DDU. AMD software refuses to open. Going headless is another problem with AMD when logging in via Teamviewer or similar the resolution is only 640x480 and Windows 10 scrolling in setting menus is useless at that quality.
After done with this can I delete the DDU files and Guru3D

Thanks for the walkthrough . Experienced a crash during a racing game then , boom. None of my additional displays would register. Only my main display. Then Radeon Software wouldnt open, so I figured the drivers corrupted.
