Really needed this video, especially the fear and shame parts. I always become unkind with myself when I need self-compassion and self-comfort the most. Thank you!
I don't know if you've seen the movie Inside Out, but it's honestly one of my favorites because it focuses on the emotions both inside a fairly aged child's mind (12 years old to be exact) as well as the minds of her adult parents. Would definitely recommend it, and be sure to have a couple tissues on you just in case. As a side note, I'm really enjoying hearing you speak on topics like this as a lot of people in this world simply don't know how to cope with their emotions in healthy ways. I've been seeing my therapist/counselor for quite some time now and it's been such a helpful tool for me when all else fails.
I'm thankful that these kinds of topics are being talked about more openly and I'm proud that you're among those leading this kind of positive cultural change.
Hi Anthony! I commented already on this video, but I just wanted to say thanks again. I wrote some of the things down you said in this video and I keep finding myself coming back to these notes, to assess how I'm feeling and what I might need to do to feel better. It's not like I didn't know these things before, but having it in a simple list like this really helped. So thanks for giving me the tools to improve my life!

Dr Epstein says anger moves us from a low energy state to a high one from which we move forward. I think fear teaches us to trust ourselves.
