I personally enjoy when I can actually invest in really learning a character instead of the entire game shifting every few weeks. We have some strong top ends (who just got hit too) but t8 has no real bottom tier very similar to how SF6 has been. It'll be nice having practice and matchup knowledge being rewarded.

Heat Burst is the manual trigger into heat that comes out as a homing armoured attack that dont give no shits about whose turn it is. Very very easy to cheese a win by spamming heat burst the moment a very low HP presses any button that isn't a throw, because even trades are in your favour due to armour damage reduction.
heat burst is just the manual activation that stops the game for a brief second and activates heat and then your character does a small lunge which many ppl would use it to stop pressure or use it when a player was airborne to add another bound not heat smash which you execute afterwards for the unique attack so this change is negligible and barely did 5 dmg on hit anyways
Probably because they want to remove him in the next games and they want people to drop him as a character. Very shitty way of going about it if that's the case.

gotta say. Tekken 8 is my first tekken, and currently arguably my favorite game right now. I main Kazuya because he's fucking cool and I love the difficulty curve on him; difficult execution with strong reward has always been what scratches that itch for me in fighting games, but outside of a but of frustration that can come with that and some niche things here and there I had very little upsetting me in this game. I simply love it, pros and cons in all however the one thing i couldn't get around was Heat Burst activation KOing. i was fine with it being a strong "get off me" tool considering Kazuya's panic options aren't great, and while it was universal there was only one opportunity per round. but it absolutely should not have been able to kill. Kazuya buffs are fantastic, but as far as universal mechanic changes that make up the foundation of Tekken 8, this change to Heat Burst is easily my most wanted change. Very happy with this patch, seems like the devs really want this game to flourish. Wish they'd put a bit of a magnifying glass on Devil Jin so that he'd be treated a little better, but outside of that it seems like we're in for a long, healthy game with a team that genuinely cares and listens to the audience. Very excited for the future of this amazing game.

34:45 thats not what it means. By increasing both players recovery it means that you have an easiert time confirming that this move was executed and can therefore punish more appropriately. Not that its now -19 instead of -16. The - frames stayed the same

Can someone explain me why from TMM perspective Hwo’s d3,4 is brain dead but Kazuya’s hellsweep is not? That’s so fucking biased… Both moves leave you in the mixup situation. For Hwo it’s a stance mixup, for Kazuya it’s okizeme mixup and Kazuya’s mixup is way more damaging and threatening. It almost looks like stance mixups for scrubs but wakeup mixups for true men of art. What a nonsense…

It seems to me that nothing will change in Paul's popularity. This will continue to be a figure for his enthusiasts. She's supposed to be that strong, but I personally think she's not. Poor hunting, quite difficult management based on taiming. Combo heat which is ridiculously weak. There are plenty of other characters with mechanics that are easier to drive. Nothing will change. I’m a bit nervous about the Kazuya df1,4 change tbh. I’d like to see how much damage you actually get from it. Something I really liked about it rn is how landing the hit gave you an unbelievable mixup opportunity. Rn, if you land df1,4 you get +18 right in your opponent’s face allowing for an uninterrupted mixup even with Kazuya’s slowest lows. Not even rage art can stop you. It was a seriously powerful mixup tool that I didn’t see many people use and only -3 on block. I guess that’s going away now but maybe the damage will be worth it? Not sure. I guess I will be using df1,2 more often. Overall, I think these changes are great I’ll just have to look for new vortex opportunities

Mainman! I discovered the New patch has allowed Victor to have a new combo route that does 90 damage minimum no wall required! The exact combo is (any floater) df42, iai 2, df42, iai 42 (new way to spin), db11, perfumer 1+2 which leads into a guaranteed ff2. Does 90 damage minimum and up to 96 depending on the floater with no wall
Why cant they just buff djs heat smash to that it has range and then give him his forearms back so his poking is good and make his df1, 2 a mid, mid string instead of a mid, high. Bonus if they buff his hellsweep to be like kazuya range. Sucks he got shafted like this.
I love how we get a really promising patch that brings the kits of undertuned characters more in line with other characters and make additions/changes to system mechanics most people would agree needed changing. Yet 90% of people will only talk about DVJ being nerfed. At least it gives Tekken team something to do for the next patch lol, he does need beneficial changes.
There was the issue with CHIKOOEH where everyone's heat smash would leave you crouching and you could never use the move when you knew an attack was coming. Patricide fist might have a role out of hellsweep. F+4 is also pretty linear and short range, and doing it out of wavedash is more awkward and wastes frames getting out of inputs that would lead to FF4
As a King main, I'm happy with the changes. He was always sidelined in previous games, ans having him as a more Relevant character is awesome. He's really a tricky character to balance for all levels of gameplay, still.

Asuka could already pick up a combo from f+2 gusyo charge by following up with 1+4 then going into a normal combo. This just means she can use a better follow up with scaling the crap out of her combo. It doesn't really help her problem areas. It just gives her 1 less interaction to play for. She currently can only build gusto from hit confirms. So clean hits. She can not do it in neutral. So the only way to get a charge is burn your heat during neutral. She can not build stacks either. U1+2 jumping smash only gives the f+2 follow up undervcertain circumstances. As it often behaves like a second tornado and allows the opponent to get up for free. The follow up where they grab their back for u1+2 is most consistently available when performed immediately after a tornado. Then f3+4 would give you the charge. This change on paper sounds like it will likely give you an alternative to get the charge in situations where f3+4 was too slow to connect. This doesn't resolve her real problems, but does give her better resource management.
Momo making a video and ending with "please don't drop the character, hes still cool" sums up pretty well the Devil Jin situation. As a devil main I might even just play other characters too much effort to get foook in the ass every time.

For the longest I was not liking how they initially made Azu in terms of transitioning into her stances, it felt stupid and it end up getting you punished most of the time for even trying to do her stances how they wanted it to be done cause they were just to slow or predictable so now I'm hoping these changes actually helps with that.

I’m a bit nervous about the Kazuya df1,4 change tbh. I’d like to see how much damage you actually get from it. Something I really liked about it rn is how landing the hit gave you an unbelievable mixup opportunity.
Rn, if you land df1,4 you get +18 right in your opponent’s face allowing for an uninterrupted mixup even with Kazuya’s slowest lows. Not even rage art can stop you. It was a seriously powerful mixup tool that I didn’t see many people use and only -3 on block.
I guess that’s going away now but maybe the damage will be worth it? Not sure. I guess I will be using df1,2 more often. Overall, I think these changes are great I’ll just have to look for new vortex opportunities
The remove crouching from reina honestly seems like a massive nerf alongside ff2 nerf. That means you can just jab her out of all of her roll moves, wow. Condolences to reina bros

Mainman! I discovered the New patch has allowed Victor to have a new combo route that does 90 damage minimum no wall required! The exact combo is (any floater) df42, iai 2, df42, iai 42 (new way to spin), db11, perfumer 1+2 which leads into a guaranteed ff2. Does 90 damage minimum and up to 96 depending on the floater with no wall

I love how we get a really promising patch that brings the kits of undertuned characters more in line with other characters and make additions/changes to system mechanics most people would agree needed changing. Yet 90% of people will only talk about DVJ being nerfed. At least it gives Tekken team something to do for the next patch lol, he does need beneficial changes.

There was the issue with CHIKOOEH where everyone's heat smash would leave you crouching and you could never use the move when you knew an attack was coming.
Patricide fist might have a role out of hellsweep. F+4 is also pretty linear and short range, and doing it out of wavedash is more awkward and wastes frames getting out of inputs that would lead to FF4

Jin's 1,2,1 last hit is still -16, they just increased the blockstun for both characters by 3F so you have more time to confirm a punish.

As a King main, I'm happy with the changes. He was always sidelined in previous games, ans having him as a more Relevant character is awesome. He's really a tricky character to balance for all levels of gameplay, still.

Asuka could already pick up a combo from f+2 gusyo charge by following up with 1+4 then going into a normal combo. This just means she can use a better follow up with scaling the crap out of her combo. It doesn't really help her problem areas. It just gives her 1 less interaction to play for. She currently can only build gusto from hit confirms. So clean hits. She can not do it in neutral. So the only way to get a charge is burn your heat during neutral. She can not build stacks either. U1+2 jumping smash only gives the f+2 follow up undervcertain circumstances. As it often behaves like a second tornado and allows the opponent to get up for free. The follow up where they grab their back for u1+2 is most consistently available when performed immediately after a tornado. Then f3+4 would give you the charge. This change on paper sounds like it will likely give you an alternative to get the charge in situations where f3+4 was too slow to connect. This doesn't resolve her real problems, but does give her better resource management.

For the longest I was not liking how they initially made Azu in terms of transitioning into her stances, it felt stupid and it end up getting you punished most of the time for even trying to do her stances how they wanted it to be done cause they were just to slow or predictable so now I'm hoping these changes actually helps with that.
