      911's are getting pretty pricey Thomas. Every time I look it seems like they are creeping up in value, especially the 997s. They are certainly catching on. 991s are holding and the 992 are still too new but time will tell. I would say I am seeing some decent buys on regalar GT3's, not cheap, but decent for the type of car that it is.

      @@markholubetz your point, exactly! And the f type certainly checks the boxes and I'm seeing for the mid $50,000 USD.
      More reasonable than the 911, IMO

    Love the F-Types and Jags in general. I currently own two, an X-Type which is great in snow and an XE I use as daily driver. No big issues as I baby both of them. My first Jag was an ‘86 XJS V-12 loved it, but was in the shop all the time! Lol. Anyway, great vid! Thanks for sharing!

    My current struggle: finding affordable wheels.......I have OEM 19s and part of me wants 20's or 19's that are lighter. I am looking at adatpters too but they sort of scare me. Anyway, that might be something many are looking at...even with other brands. 5x108 is a really small option space.

I know this whole supply chain thing is getting a bit much so things seem to be a bit delayed these days. As far as the weather goes I certainly will try to stay warm as I see it got down to minus 20c last night. Bbtrrr

    Looking forward to what you do in the winter. I just got my 2017 six speed. I plan to use it during the winter at least when it’s not snowing and just put on Michelin all season tires. I had a 2003 S type 5 speed and it was horrible in the winter even with all snows.

    I'm quite annoyed with Jaguar. I just saw the Maserati MC 20 and guess what, it looks like the Jaguar C-X75, which never saw the light of day ! So Jaguar in their infinite wisdom screwed it up again by handing a great idea to someone else. What is it with Jaguar always snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Mark, do video on the MC 20 if you can. I'm planning on one to park alongside the F Type

    I'm currently working to replace the upper/lower coolant outlet pipes on my 2015 F-Type R (32k miles). I'm also replacing the water pump while I have the supercharger off the car! This is a known issue with the design of the original coolant pipes on these cars. Not a big deal for me, as I'm doing the work myself. However, if your manufacturers warranty runs out, you will have to come out of pocket for parts and labor. If you get an extended warranty, it still may not cover all that needs to be done to resolve this issue.

    Oh man...Mark, you made it so hard for me to decide now..F-Type R vs M4 xDrive Competition..I almost decided on M4 because it is less expensive and has more trunk space..it is also little faster than F-Type R...but now, I am back considering R again mainly because it is such a beautiful car though it is 15k more expensive over my M4 design..I am so split on trying to decide if it will be worth it. Like you said, these cars won't be around for long..a lot of it has to do with my dad too..his dream was to own an E-Type when he was growing up..he is not getting any younger..a part of me thinks that when he is gone I will appreciate it more driving a car that he really always wanted..not to say that he does not like M4, he does, just not as much as the Jag. I still have till March or April to decide. I heard from the dealer that they will not have allocations until around that time anyways. Good job on the video. I am glad that you made a video specifically addressing F-Type reliability.

    • @markholubetz
      @markholubetz  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks a lot Ermin for writing back. They are both great cars and the BMW is a bit more modern and tech, plus you can get a stick shift in the base M4 so that’s great but the choice was clear to me even when comparing to a Porsche 911.

    Hey Mark, what type of tires and rims should I put on for the winter. Should I go to the dealership for tires and rims?

    • @callumduncan6728
      @callumduncan6728 2 роки тому +1

      if you go to jag they will recommend 19 inch non staggered rims with 245 /45/19 tires they will be very expensive, and the tire brand selection will be not optimal , those 19 inch rims come of xf s and many owners upgrade to 20 inch rims so there are lots of 19inch rims on the second hand market usually used very little . the 19inch rim with a 45 profile gives the exact radius for the awd i chose nokian duel stud 102 T not a cheap option but are the best winter tire i have used in 30 years of winter driving . i hope this helps i found it hard to find good info jag basicly said if you dont want our winter package dont bother us for info so i hunted around the forums to find the correct fitment , be prepared this is an expensive endeavor, each rim $100 second hand , powder coating per rim $200 each tire fitted $350 . the jag package with mediocre tires is a hair under $3000 all prices 2020 in cad $ full disclosure mines an xj but the oem tire sizes and awd are the same as the f type

    Great video Mark. I have a question and maybe the other people who subscribe to your channel may have some insight. Just the other day I parked my F-type R on my driveway which has a slight incline....when I put the car into reverse, the car didn't move. I put it in drive to see if I can move it up and nothing happened. I turned the car off and then I had no issues. I am under warranty and will get this checked. Just wanted to see if you and anyone else had this problem. The car also went into Park twice when I pulled into a parking spot but I never pressed the P button a month ago. This concerns me. Thanks for any information.

    • @markholubetz
      @markholubetz  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, I am not sure we are talking the same thing but mine does that sometimes where it’s the electric park brake that holds the vehicle and I put the car into reverse and give it a slight bit of throttle to tell the computer I am actually trying to move. It’s. A safety feature so a car does not roll back or only rely on the transmission park pawl.

    • @satishjoshi1786
      @satishjoshi1786 2 роки тому

      Thanks Mark, yes I believe we are talking about the same thing. I have an appointment on Thursday with my dealership and they think it is a safety mechanism but since I am under warranty, they will check it out. I will keep you posted if they find anything. Appreciate the quick response and keep up the great videos!
