Call Me If You Get Lost (stylized in all caps) is the sixth studio album by American rapper and producer Tyler, the Creator. The album was released on June 25, 2021, through Columbia Records. The album is narrated by DJ Drama and features guest appearances from 42 Dugg, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Wayne, Domo Genesis, Brent Faiyaz, Lil Uzi Vert, Pharrell Williams, Teezo Touchdown, Fana Hues and Daisy World. Tyler produced the album himself, with additional production contributed by Jamie xx and Jay Versace.
The album marks a departure from the lighter and more soulful aesthetics of Igor (2019) and Flower Boy (2017) in favor of brash beats and raw rhymes, influenced by DJ Drama's Gangsta Grillz mixtape series. Genres on the album span hip hop, pop, jazz, soul and reggae. The cover art depicts an identification card for a character named "Tyler Baudelaire" in reference to the French poet Charles Baudelaire, whose work has been regarded by music journalists as comparable to the explicit nature and themes of Tyler's music.
Call Me If You Get Lost was supported by two singles: "Lumberjack" and "WusYaName", both of which were released alongside music videos. The album received widespread acclaim from critics and has been described as a mix of styles, with hints of nostalgia throughout its production. Some critics compared the album to his previous release, Igor. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, becoming Tyler, the Creator's second US number-one album. It won the award for Best Rap Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards, Tyler's second win.
He is going to be SHOCKED when he hears old Tyler
can’t wait for the goblin review 😂😂
Is he ever going to hear it?
wolf will be a fire reaction, i heard it recently and enjoyed it. was funny and kinda charming hearing the frankly unnecessary edge from tyler, and some of the songs are actually very good.
i don’t think he should, he wouldn’t like it it’s so poorly mixed and produced
@@kevinhirschowitz8550 why are you saying “actually very good” as if that’s somehow surprising? Did you begin listening to Tyler on his “newer” albums?
I think we all need to listen to Tyler on the beach someday
All together x
I would listen to it only when I'm lost.
@@felixswift6668 no i wanna be alone x
Also Kauai by Gambino is a perfect beach album
@@dylanmurphy9389 no you don't x
Not sure if dad knows, but it’s important to note that Tyler produces all his own music
well to be fair he did rip some instrumentals from other songs and used a TON of fairly unaltered samples for this album
@@prodjakera still producing. It's called sampling, interpolating, remixing. Still hard to do and do it right
@@ImxPhreme no i 100% agree, but i think IGOR is a more impressive showcase of tyler's production abilities (yes i know igor used samples as well, although they were super manipulated and chopped up).
@@prodjakera cherry bomb to me is Tyler’s best album in terms of pure production. Igor is mixed better but Cherry Bomb really showcases how creative Tyler can be with his production especially because there’s so much variety with the production on that album.
@@prodjakera so did Kanye for TCD, doesn’t make it any less of a selfproduced masterpiece
47:37 If you go back to flower boy, at the end of I Ain’t Got Time that little audio bit is a rough draft of Sweet, so it’s actually been around since even before Igor.
Tyler’s always been the kind to reuse discarded beats and bring back and redo extremely old songs, and that’s just another example of that
hold up…… you onto something!!!
The background is very fitting for the album I feel
Exactly
Is it Vancouver
@@MrRobloMan yeahhh
The sun beamin’
@@mannixy8986 what a gorgeous city. I have no idea how it is to really live there beyond the general idea of "it's one of the nicer places if you're Canadian" I've gathered from creators I follow, but it certainly looks like a place better for my mental health than where I am now.
Definitely plan to at least visit BC, for the nature alone
Y’all gotta do “son reacts:” where the dad picks an album that the son hasnt heard
YESS THATS A GOOD IDEA
I think they've done that on their patreon
I second this
Steely Dan - Aja would br awesome
yeah, call it.. turning the tables..
I don’t know if Tyler can top these last three albums, but then again he keeps doing it.
i hope his next album will be a like sci fi/space type album like DAWN FM. like the vibe ouf the song out of time by the weeknd
@@zweistein9053 i would personally love to hear tyler go back to the grimey industrial sound he tried out on cherry bomb, except more matured, refined, and well executed
@@prodjakera personally i think it might be a disco album
@@prodjakera Thats how cmiygl feels to me tho. This album really feels like all his previous stuff combined in to one plus new summer vibes
@@prodjakera that’s what call me if you get lost is honestly
Wilshire is just so sleek, I really love the storytelling aspect and how the repetition of the instrumental just contrasts with the lack of repetition in his lyrics, it’s sensual summery vibe mixed with a kind of hectic rambling of his words, it kinda matches the situation he’s in, being in a horrible position but not knowing how to fix it, he’s essentially trapped in this 3 way relationship and he can either sit back and let It happen losing all control or take control but sacrifice losing the love of his life
bless you for putting that thought into words
and the even crazier part is it was all ONE SINGLE TAKE
00 LP ppĺ ok ĺĺl0lo
Would be cool if you guys did a weekly series where you covered some singles. Would show Kevin some artists that might not make it for an album

Wusyaname is gonna be that severely unappreciated r&b throwback in the future. I guarantee it.
36:24 Kevin spittin facts. Late Registration is one of Tyler’s fav albums of all time
I feel like your dad would love "Awaken My Love" by Childish Gambino
yes
I thought he would love "Because the internet" as well. 👍
Especially "Flight of the navigator". One of the greatest songs of all time in my opinion.
@@Urbanindia745 dude that song is just so insane. If only I could give everyone the experience I had w that song w my friends
Yes please.
yes
Hot Wind Blows is one of my personal favourite song off the album. The instrumentals with the sample sound so amazing, and the Lil Wayne feature just makes it even better. In my opinion this song pretty much describes the whole atmosphere and feel of Call Me If You Get Lost. Connor and Kevin did such a good job of listening to this album outside in the sun near the beach. Its what makes listening to this album even better.
Hot Wind Blows is definitely one of my favourite tracks from Tyler. I just wish MF DOOM could have been on SIR BAUDELAIRE and Hot Wind Blows but nevertheless still an amazing album
W
Rise is mine, just sum different about it
i’ve always felt this same way. that sample choice was perfect
Weezy killed that joint “wind beneath my wings desert eagle underneath my coat” like wow
An original version of "SWEET" features at the end of "I Ain't Got Time!" on Flower Boy, so it's been in the works for quite some time.
i can just imagine going to the beach and see two dudes facing away sitting at a desk with podcast mics and laptops and being dumbfounded 😭. love the dedication
So the overall theme of the album is definitely luxurious which is kind of stereotypical for rap, but Tyler specifically wanted to emphasize a "travel/broaden your horizons" aspect in how he approached it. You can tell by the topics he uses in his verses, like hes not bragging about chains & girls he's talking about having a picnic basket in the back of his Rolls Royce just incase he sees a nice spot for example lol. He's specifically emphasizing those type of things because they're not something you'd stereotypically expect a Black guy, let alone a rapper to do or be into. But he presents it sonically in a package that's the most accessible to the average Hip-Hop listener that he's ever made.
Then you also have the interesting way he portrays his failed attempt to steal somebody girls throughout the album. Again, stealing your girl is a stereotypical thing to rap about but Tyler flips is by admitting that he actually loved/loves the girl and also that he didnt even do it successfully. I love the lines on "Corso" -- "Remembered I was rich so I bought me some new emotions, and a new boat cuz I'd rather cry in the ocean..."
I've been a fan of Tyler since Bastard, Odd Future was my favorite group in Highschool, and I think this is Tyler's best work overall -- he finally really successfully mixed all his disparate influences into a cohesive package without veering too far into any one direction and it's great.
Also great reaction vid as always guys, cheers.
This was great!! Thank you 🙏
Don’t marginalise ‘black guys’
@@HertoftheCity As a a Black guy myself I think I'm pretty comfortable saying what is and isn't stereotypical of us. I appreciate the thought though.
Very well said
Well put, the cohesiveness is what makes the album shine and the lack of it makes it hard for me to enjoy his old projects prior to flowerboy. The only thing I’m not a great fan of is the features.
guys.. I was a having a really shitty day, and I'm usually a really happy person. But seeing this is my sub box turned my day around. Thanks you guys for making this show, it might seem weird but every time I watch I think it gets better, and I love the energy that is has, and every time a new episode comes out I get so excited. keep up the amazing work you guys. Thank you.
🙏❤️
REAL SHIT.
its not weird. it makes my days better too.
bro same, my pc bricked today and I was like suoer down but this made it better
If your dad likes Tyler’s storytelling you should definitely show him Wolf! One of my favourite Tyler albums because of the story. Really funny, creative and in my opinion the start of his metamorphosis that blossomed with Flowerboy. Very underrated and one your dad would have fun with!
I agree, I think wolf is my favorite album just because the storytelling is crazy and you can feel his music developing into a more mature sound
This is technically not the first time you’ve heard lil Uzi he was actually the chorus on Igor’s theme but this is the first time you’ve heard a full verse

I was waiting SO MUCH for this video to release, and seeing you guys made this a bit of an special episode with the beach thing, this whole thing made me so happy.
I hope the beach thing returns for future albums.
yall did a great job managing the wind audio!
I love how excited he got for the Bunny Hopper line in the first song
I was waiting for that Sweet/ITYWTD reaction... I knew Kevin was gonna love that song. Perfect setting choice for the album too guys. I listened to this album for the first time while I was by the lake which was a surreal experience. Tyler is the kind of success story that encourages me as a underground artist with a small following. Seeing how he’s developed his skills and slowly blown up after seizing each and every opportunity he’s been giving has been inspirational! Mans has quickly become a mainstay in the industry and for good reason. Dude is too nice! I know if I put in the work, I can reach a larger audience some day too, but for now, I’m happy being a supporter. My turn will come too. Salute to Tyler🔥
