Lucy leaving the Super-duper Mart at the end wearing a set a leather armor and carrying her first proper gun, that's pretty much me and likely every other player.
Only yesterday I've realized how closely her journey so far resembles that of a player. The major beats are all there:
    - You live in a Vault that you have to leave soon to go after someone you love.
    - From there the plot guides you towards a nearby town to get a first lead on your objective
    - And in almost every playthrough you will clear a super-duper Mart early on, after which ..
    - .. you have our first set of proper equipment and you'll be like "Okey dokey Wasteland , I've arrived. Bring it on!"

For the "Why would cars be at the drive-in?" question - check out an old movie called On the Beach (based on a novel) which is an end of mankind scenario after nuclear war where all life has been killed by fallout (not just the blasts) except for south-eastern Australia, but the cloud is slowly making its way there. Basically, they all know they are going to die soon, but try to live as normally as possible and in the end many choose the manner of their passing... which could be at a drive-in run by a generator.

Did you miss that whole communist plot line? Seemed like you didn't connect the dots from the last episode. Last episode when Cooper was acting, he didn't understand why his character, who is a heroic sheriff has to kill the criminal instead of arresting him, like he usually does. He finds out that the writer of the show was fired for being a communist. He also expresses that he was a great writer, so we know he had respect for him. This episode, we see how that turned out. He killed the villain and said that communist line, which obviously didn't belong in a western. The reason he had to kill the villain didn't have anything to do with the story, it was an attempt of the producers to wash their hands and throw the writer under the bus. It parallels the Red Scare in the real US history. This shows us as the audience, that this was the first time that Cooper compromised his values and maybe the metaphorical transformation into The Ghoul already started before the apocalypse, not after.

The Ghoul is so well written. . he didn’t allow Lucy to drink out of his canteen.. but not to be cruel, he can drink irradiated water but really she can’t.
He allowed LUCY to decide to drink the water on her own so she’ll learn a lesson and not just blame it on him if she gets radiation poisoning.
Also Lucy’s golden rule is applied back on her when she bites off his finger. He took her finger to show her that her rules and morals need to bend if she’s going to survive the WasteLand.
Honestly the one character in the entire show that is constantly helping and teaching the other characters IS Cooper. He goes about it the wrong way 50% of the time, but EVERYTHING he’s doing has intention and purpose behind it. The Ghoul does NOTHING by accident. Throughout the show his intentions honestly are the clearest and purest. Which is crazy but true.
He’s such a layered and interesting character.

I mean if the doc had snip snip and had a leg laying around he probably could reattach it to him like he did for Lucy's finger, who knows that why the crazy world of fallout its both interesting and pondering on how that world thinking process works even before the bombs dropped and of course after and so far it's alot of destroying the neighbors yard and house because they have greener grass or a garden or just something you don't have and can't fathom the idea of talking with them they go straight to sabotage

I mean, Vaults do have actual proper medical supplies and equipment so I wouldn't expect much of that to be an issue for them, I think it'd be more questionable if it was the other way around and they couldn't easily take care of stuff like that.
I don't recall her really doing any strenuous activities afterward either, except giving birth of course but I could be forgetting something I guess lol.
And being cheerful and pretty upbeat despite the circumstances is sorta how Vault Dwellers are most of the time, especially those that haven't exposed themselves to the outside world.

@@mybedissoft sex is a pretty strenuous activity, if done right.
And that more or less corroborates my point. In real life, this injury would have her in bed rest for a week, at least, and painkillers for weeks/ months. In Fallout? One injection solves it.

How can everyone born into the post-war world not turn into ghouls? Roger wasn't a ghoul when he was born. He said it has only been 28 years since he started to turn. There can't be that much Rad-Away just out in the wasteland for everyone to take so you'd think everyone there in Filly would have become ghouls by now. Cooper has been around for 219 years...or at least that is how long it has been since the Great War when the big bombs dropped. He is just such a good business ghoul he can sniff out the drugs he needs or can afford to buy them.

As I assume you haven't read comments or watched the next video, here goes:
The gulpers that are in the games (FO4 dlc Far Harbor) does not look like weird finger-axolotls but more like "normal" mutated salamanders, haha.
      That's why I couldn't place them.
Also, since they are in that dlc only, it's not a creature you stumble upon very often, like rad roaches, yao gais or, heck, even death claws. So excuse me for forgetting that gulpers exist in the games too.

I think the Fallout Bible mentions that there's like 1 vehicle per 200 people but the Fallout Bible isn't really canon so meh and there are plenty of mentions of them in the games, like the Master's army (super mutant army) having steam trucks in Fallout 1 and I'm pretty sure the NCR is mentioned to have/had working vehicles as well.
The Highwayman is a car in Fallout 2 that's fixed up by the protagonist and you use it to travel around.
The main reasoning for why there aren't many actually shown iw because the game's engine so it'd be weird for them to switch it entirely and just start showing us a bunch of working vehicles.
Plus a lot of them are just straight up destroyed but the others are just in need of repairs, but it's unnecessary for some, like the Brotherhood of Steel when they can just Vertibirds and fly everywhere a lot quicker than driving.
So there's certainly people out there with actual working vehicles but it's few and far between, not to mention incredible risky and dangerous to just be driving a working vehicle out in the Wasteland for all to see, that's just asking to get robbed or killed for it.
Edit: I imagine if the entire United States got nuked, a vast majority of cars would straight up just be destroyed lol.

    • @peterretep4009
      @peterretep4009 Місяць тому

Some cars might've continued to work, but they probably wouldn't end up parked at drive-ins later. That seems like it would be a pre-nuclear-war activity mostly.
