Home Free... a 5 man vocal ban that manages to have 1 basso profundo, 2 bass, 3 baritones, 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 1 freak of nature. Adam Rupp has a beautiful tenor...How Great Thou Art has a couple of lines that he's very clear.
I believe this was the first song that Chance was a part of in 2016 when he joined HF after Chris Rupp left. Austin is a High Tenor, and Rob is a Tenor, Adam Rupp sings Tenor when not doing percussions, and when Tim and Chance switch off the bass lines, you can barely notice. No Chance doesn't hit the speaker melting lows, but he has a great range in his own right and a very silky, smokey voice that fills out the bottom part of the music with Tim very nicely. Chance is technically a Barritone that can sing bass. Rob can get high, but not as high as Austin. Adam doesn't like to be in the limelight, but he does have a little solo in "How Great Thou Art" that has no percussion and is all 5 part harmony.
Adam Chance does have some leads on songs Can’t Outrun You Some Girls Do Skull And Bones ( his original AJ would like it judging by his picture behind him Cover me up Born In The USA Workin For A Livin Sea Shanty Medley Dive Bar Saints
If you START one of Adam Rupps drum solos, you WILL find yourself at the end before you know it. Every section adds to the previous section until time distorts and you are at the end.
When Adam Rupp sings he generally does another high tenor part. If you check How Great Thou Art you can hear him do the longest true solo he’s ever done.
Btw, ALL the guys do some instrumentation from time to time. Not just Adam Rupp! :) The guitar pluck type stuff you heard at the beginning is Rob and Chance combined and Austin joins into that as well once Rob takes over and does his solo in that first verse. (yes, I've watched this a LOT! xD)
Surprisingly this group has 5 guys who consist of: 4 tenors 2 bass’ 5 beat boxers 3 baritone And countless musical instruments You will see this as you continue down the Home Free Rabbit hole! They are so incredibly talented it is unreal! Take a listen to “listen to the music” And yes an Adam Rupp solo is for sure one you must listen to! You can’t find a bad Home Free song! I love your reactions and it’s pretty cool having 4. Opinions in one reaction!
The talent that is HF is unmatched!! Home Free is all I listen to, ever!! Seeing them live nxt month!!!! Thanks guys for giving them a listen!! They're touring in Europe now
The best example of Adam's singing voice being clearly on display is near the end of Home Free's "Guilty Pleasures" videos. The "hilariously derailed" versions are even more fabulous for days when you might need a laugh break 🤣
Chance has lead in The Gambler, Some Girls Do,Working For a Living, skull and Bones ( Chance wrote this for a video game and it includes guitar and mandolin), Brothers in Arms ( with Tim), and Sea Shanty Medley ( Rob and Austin lead in this too) among others. I love Chance’s voice.
These guys are multitalented. Although Austin is their designated power tenor all five of them can sing tenor. Tim had a 5 octave range and Chance has a 4 octave range. He covers for Tim when he has a solo. They all can beatbox to a degree ( you’ll see that on their live version of 9 to 5. Adam Rupp has a beautiful tenor voice, he has a solo in their version of “How great thou art” he just prefers beatboxing .
This is a really good 'intro' to the group. Good luck snipping one of Adam's solos into bits. But you are more than welcome to watch them and try. His new ones are pretty different from his early ones. But for pure "drumming", his 'red shirt' solo is a good place to start.
I can't listen to this and not want to dance. There is a "From the Vault " behind the scenes video of this one that is fun to watch. Adam sings in several videos but the only time I've seen him sing lines by himself is in " How Great Thou Art ". . Thanks for reacting to Home Free!
Home Free has an uncanny ability to have such a "full" sound, even with their beatboxing. For a little example, check out their "9 to 5 with Beatboxing Breakdown". A real eyeopener..
If you want to geek out on the two bassists, check out their Dire Straits cover of "Brothers in Arms." It will blow your mind. And yes, there are a number of songs the beatboxer only sings on...and the song I suggested is one of them.
FYI this is Chance's first video with Home Free. Note the logo on his shirt SCS from Street Corner Symphony, his former group where he was bass. See Madness by SCS.
If you watched to the very end, Tim will say they wanted to do something for their small fries and since this was from the cartoon Zootopia, the boys did this and they also featured Chance a little bit as it was his first time with Home Free. Adam is an amazing beatboxer and we love him. Rob (glasses) is a tenor and Austin (redhead) is the high tenor. If you want to hear more from Chance try I Can’t Outrun You, Some Girls Do, Yours. He also just wrote Skull and Bones for Ubisoft (game maker) for their new pirate game of the same name. Tim goes insanely low in it. It’s a banger. I subscribed for more HF!😍🥰
OMG, I'm crying! This was sooo worth the wait! Thank you so much for honoring my request and reacting to this wonderful song from Home Free! It's very special to me because it helped see me through a traumatic time in my life. I was in hospital a year ago and months of being laid up in a bed on meds left me without much of my mobility. I had to learn to use my legs again and work my way up from nothing. Something about listening to this song gave me the push I needed to get stronger and work through that trying time. Especially that wonderful second verse. Thank you again and I'm so glad I found your channel! You guys are amazing! Looking forward to more fun!
Holy crap, Neo! We didn't realize you'd gone through all that! Thank you for all of your support and thank you for the super chat! We're glad you found us, too! It's awesome interesting with you!
They each excel at different types of song/genre. I'll take Rob for r&b or blues anytime. Austin -- pop, country. Chance - folk, country. Tim -- country.
There are multiple "drum" solos. The older one where Adam is in a checkered shirt is good but he uses a loop station in his newer solos. I've even got a HF Rupp Solo 5/29/2022 posted on YT that I recorded. Only an iPhone recording but where I was sitting, I think, caught the sound fairly well.
Getting to hear Adam Rupp sing is like a unicorn sighting. It's not often, but when it great when it happens. And I've witnessed Adam's incredible talent with HF twice and once in an up close and personal setting with Tim Foust & Friends. He even beatboxed and played bass guitar at the same time!
Oh, yeah, it's real. I saw them in concert last winter and the drum solo knocked me out. And you could feel the chairs shaking when Tim went sub-basement.
Austin is white hot, blue ice, high tenor, Rob is a flannel warm tenor/baritone, Chance is green/black baritone, bass velvet, Tim is ….. well …. What ever Tim feels like being, to perfection! Then there is Adam …. The syncopation …. The beat …. The GLUE that brings them all together.
I think that Home Free can convey the emotion so well, especially with Happy songs. I think that's one of HF's greatest strengths. They don't need too much "show". The "simpleness" of many videos is therefore often enough. Just put them somewhere and they succeed. Their voices do the work. I love this song because all their voices come out so well here. I thought it was the first song with Chance. I think the choice to bring Chance into the group has been the best choice they could have made. He fits perfectly into the group. A really good addition. He has such a recognizable silky smooth and sexy voice. I can't really remember that he sings a piece at the same time as Tim like here. But it sure sounds great. In some songs they do sing the bassline together, which makes the bass even more penetrating. Yes, they all sang really well. This confirms to me why they are number one for me. Someone can have such a great voice, but if it doesn't really get to me, after a few songs I'll quickly turn it off. But I can really hear Home Free all day long. And what an unbelievably freaking good one that Adam is. What great vocal sounds he does here. Not normal how good. The number one beatboxer, the best of all!!!
This is such a fun song. Pure raw talent here. Adam Rupp has a beautiful tenor voice. Check out How Great Thou Art. He sings in that too! Love your reactions!
With Home Free, you gotta check to see if there's a message after the song. In this case, there was a nice one -- it introduced Chance as their new member, and it said they did this song because they liked the kids' movie Zootopia and they wanted to sing something for their "Small Fries," lol.
Last weekend I could finally see the guys live. The videos are fantastic, but the live experience was top notch. This song is fantastic, but then again, there is no song that wasn't good. Each of these guys has a unique talent. Great reaction!
This was also Adam Chance's 1st recording with Home Free after Chris Rupp left in May 2016. Chance does have a great voice and he does leads for the group like (an original) Dive Bar Saints, (a cover of Niall Moran) Finally Free and (cover of Michael Ray) Think a Little Less.
Adam does tape or use a mixer (rarely) when he needs to sing or do multiple sounds. Adam is awesome because he grows his hair out to donate it. I would love to hear Chance do the Marty Robbins song Don't Worry About Me it would suit his silky voice so well!
This was the first video that Chance sang in. If you look at his t-shirt it has his old group Street Corner Symphony were he was the bass. They got second place on the Sing Off season 2. Rob is the lead tenor (lower tenor). Austin is the sky high tenor. Tim sing bass but also makes the sound of a bass instrument. Adam Rupp does also have a solo in the song How Great Thou Art. Chance has quiet a few solo songs Country Roads, Yours just to name a few. Enjoyed watching your reactions to this song and group.
Fantastic reaction. I love all four of you. You made this HF video a great experience. In addition to the Chance solos recommended below (I Can't Outrun You and Cover Me Up), it's amazing what he adds to their Auld Lang Syne. Songs pairing solos by Tim and Chance that are beautiful are In the Blood and Take Me Home, Country Roads, in which, AJ, Rob also stars.
Chance is actually a lot more like Tim than people think when it comes to range. If you take out the crazier lowest sub-harmonic notes that Tim hits, and go with just the normal chest voice bass notes up to his higher tenor notes, Chance has almost the same range, but just pitched a little higher. Chance can sing a little higher than Tim, and almost as low. The flexibility gives them, realistically, 4 people who can sing from the lowest of bass to the highest tenor between them, with the ability to double the lines or split out into multiple different types of harmonies. For an example of Chance's range, watch their video of "I Can't Outrun You" where Chance does a baritone solo. The last note he sings is the deepest on that song and not even near his lowest possible. Then watch either "Can't Stop the Feeling" or "American Pie" and you can hear some of his higher tenor notes. Same with Tim. You hear his low stuff on "Brothers in Arms," but listen to "Snowglobe" and he sings pretty high tenor. Or his tenor solo parts on songs he did by himself where he sings all the parts; "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow", or "Since I Don't Have You," etc. Or his collaboration with the Bass Gang singing "Hooked on a Feeling."
I think that they do some layering where maybe they have Adam do some singing, and they also record his beatboxing part, and layer it over the part where he sang. Adam Rupp also sings some in Helplessly Hoping, because there is no beatboxing in that piece.
Look, guys, Adam is not the only one who does “beatboxing”. They all fill in with other sounds. Tim is always doing bass stuff, Rob does some beatboxing, of course Chance fills in for Tim with the bass stuff when Tim solos. AND, if you watch Man of Constant Sorrow, you will hear Chance doing Mongolian throat singing. (that Jew's Harp sound) None of these boys are one-trick ponies.
As you can tell ive been going back and watching some of the older stuff man do i still enjoy the reactions!! And if ya ever get the chance to see these guys live donit! Its even better in person. Ive seen them 6 times it never gets old.
Hilarious reaction, Jerzey was really enjoying himself up there, hehe. Prior to joining Home Free, Chance was the bass for Street Corner Symphony, Chance really shines in their version of Uptown Funk and if you haven't heard it yet please check out Home Free's cover of Mayday.
The capability of excellence by each of the individuals in this group is off the charts awesome that allows them the flexibility to do so many types of vocalizations and to do it exceptionally well. I have not found a genre they are afraid to tackle whether individually or as a group they are amazing. Then top that off with their arrangements that augment the presentation to be "Home Free" owned. ❣ subscribed 💟
For more of Chance being Chance.....try "I Can't Outrun You" and "Cover Me Up". Also, he does a lot in the Sea Shanty Medley. And FYI....in truth, Home Free has 4 tenors, 2 baritone, and 2 bass. Adam has a lovely tenor voice.
First time watching you guys, I love Jerzey's vibe and joy while he is listening. Thanks for your love on our Home Free guys! They are something special!
Just found you guys, due to your reacting to HF. I got a kick out of your banter back and forth, and your comments. One of the better reaction channels I've seen (and I've seen hundreds!). Just one of you would be "ok", with your sense of humor. But FOUR of you makes it way better!
@@neocelestia Yes, get a better view of what Adam puts on loop and what he does during the song. “Skull and Bones” live from the EU concerts (audience cameras) was good too. It’s the short version, but got the crowd involved. 💀🦴🦴🦴
Great reaction to a very sweet song with a great message! It's hard not to like this one. LOL! BTW when you get to doing the Adam Rupp drum solo pick the one from 2015 as a place to start, but PLEASE don't chop it up, we want to see you react to the whole thing as there's so many different facets to what he does. Don't worry about the length, the Home Fries will be here for it! Thx!
If you want to see Adam sing lead (for a brief time), see How Great Thou Art. There is no beat boxing. He sings harmony with the others except for his lead.
The video that is notorious for Tim blowing out their sound system is called Home Free Concert Morrison, IL 8/19/15. The whole thing is a lot of fun with some terrific music, but at 27:26 it's too long for most reactors. There are several versions of them doing the Josh Turner song Your Man, with Rob and Austin getting after Tim for going tenor on them in the live shows. In this one the bit just before the song starts at 6:50, with the guys posing for a fan in the front of the crowd to take a picture, then going right into the song. Their usual schtick was just too much for their speakers to handle this time.
Want to hear more Chance, here are some recommendations. Helplessly Hoping, Divebar Saints, The Driver, these are just a few that he takes lead on. I'm a new subscriber and love Jersey's joyful dancing! Keep up the good work!
What do ya say, commenters???? are they ready for Mayday? They made one comment that makes me think so. WARRP is also the right group of guys for Listen to the Music.
Adam Chance is their baritone, but he is actually naturally a bass. Just a higher bass compared to Tim. Which allows them a lot of flexibility Some recs for Adam Chance as lead. Some Girls Do Cover Me Up Dive Bar Saints I can't outrun you

I LOVE watching Jerzey. 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤Damn he's cute! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE listen to Home Free's cover of the Doobie Brother's song Listen To The Music. You'll be blown away by Adam Rupp. Love your channel. Thanks guys.
Please react to street corner symphony "madness" if you want to hear chance doing bass. It was his former group that he was the bass singer for. Chance has an incredible range where not as low as geoff or tim he is still able to be a bass singer.
Chance leads on "I Can't Outrun You" and "Cover Me Up" ... both amazing renditions !
Also "Yours" and his solos in "In the Blood." That last one is pure perfection from all of them!
The only mistake you can make is trying to put any of them in a box. Great reaction!
Yeah. Listen to 9-5 Live “Beatbox breakdown” to see why you can see Adam singing and still have beatbox going on!
Adam Rupp beautifully sings in How Great Thou Art
I believe this was the first song that Chance was a part of in 2016 when he joined HF after Chris Rupp left. Austin is a High Tenor, and Rob is a Tenor, Adam Rupp sings Tenor when not doing percussions, and when Tim and Chance switch off the bass lines, you can barely notice. I think Chance is getting better at subharmonics. He’s doing more in concert over time.
Another great one with Adam singing with the rest of the guys is their cover of Helplessly Hoping :) I love that one.
And a line in "quarantine". 😉🥰

(that Jew's Harp sound)
None of these boys are one-trick ponies.
Try their:" Sea Shanty Medley" for more of Chance solo. Adam Rupp voice: "How Great Though Art".
You guys should watch their song Skull and Bones (written by Chance) it's amazing! He wrote it for a pirate themed video game.
As you can tell ive been going back and watching some of the older stuff man do i still enjoy the reactions!! And if ya ever get the chance to see these guys live donit! Its even better in person. Ive seen them 6 times it never gets old.
You guys are so intertaining! Thanks for this reaction. Please, please do Helplessly Hoping! All 5 sing on the CSN song.
We will!
If you want to hear more of Chance try the sea shanty medley, it's a lot of fun.
Our reaction to that should be dropping soon!
Couldn't agree more!
Awesome! Thank you!
This is one of my favs. These guys can sing anything. That's why so many fans love them so much. You guys need to CK out Mayday. It's amazing.❤️❤️❤️
That one should be coming soon!
Austin is the high tenor while Rob is the tenor
Just found you guys, due to your reacting to HF. I got a kick out of your banter back and forth, and your comments. One of the better reaction channels I've seen (and I've seen hundreds!). Just one of you would be "ok", with your sense of humor. But FOUR of you makes it way better!
Austin used to sing at Disney World (Epcot) "American" pavilian
There are some videos out there of Adam Rupp doing drum solos during live shows. You should check those out if you haven't. He's amazing.
Have the Fries seen how the guys are doing this in concert this month? Great beatboxing from Adam.
Been watching everything I can find! Sea Shanty Live was awesome and Adam (both of them honestly lol) is amazing! But then again, they all are :D
Link to EU concert medley including Try Everything.

Yes, get a better view of what Adam puts on loop and what he does during the song.
“Skull and Bones” live from the EU concerts (audience cameras) was good too. It’s the short version, but got the crowd involved. 💀🦴🦴🦴
@@itzel1735 I've seen both versions multiple times, with and without reactions xD I love that song! And yes, the live version tho shorter, is amazing
Thx!
I concur!
If you want to see Adam sing lead (for a brief time), see How Great Thou Art. There is no beat boxing. He sings harmony with the others except for his lead.
a great chance to hear Chancensing is cover me up. he also directed the video
Tim and Chance also do instrumentals
I know that I am a little late but you heard Adam Chance sing solo in The Sea Shanty Medley and American Pie
with Don McLean
Want to hear more Chance, here are some recommendations. Helplessly Hoping, Divebar Saints, The Driver, these are just a few that he takes lead on. I'm a new subscriber and love Jersey's joyful dancing! Keep up the good work!
Cool, thanks!
Add Some Girls Do, Cover Me Up, Finally Free and I Can’t Outrun You to this list.
Try Mayday and some of their Christmas songs!
Great Reaction, Love This One ❤
Thank you!! 😊
What do ya say, commenters???? are they ready for Mayday? They made one comment that makes me think so. WARRP is also the right group of guys for Listen to the Music.
you should hear Rob and Austin sing opera
We did! AJ and Ogre reacted to it a couple weeks ago! Very awesome!
👍 great reaction.❤🤠 HF
Thank you 😁
Something tells me you guys would enjoy their Sea Shanty medley. Chance leads on that one.
Our reaction for that drops on 11/7!
Adam Chance is their baritone, but he is actually naturally a bass. Just a higher bass compared to Tim. Which allows them a lot of flexibility
Some recs for Adam Chance as lead.
Some Girls Do
Cover Me Up
Dive Bar Saints
I can't outrun you
im telling you watch the full Adam Rupp drum solo 2015. you will be amazed
We will
They can all do some best box
Y'all are so funny...dancw away Jerzey
NEW SUB FROM NORTHWEST OREGON, 14.9 MILES EAST OF PORTLAND. THIS IS CHANCE'S FIRST VIDEO AFTER JOINING HF, 2016. FILMED AT A STUDIO INPORTLAND. CHANCE WORE A T-SHIRT FROM THE ACA GROUP HE WAS BASS FOR ON SEASON TWO OF SING-OFF "STREET CORNER SYMPHONY". BTW, VOICEPLAY WAS ON THE SEASON WITH HF. TIM POPPED A BUTTON OFF ONE OF HIS PANTS WHILE IN PORTLAND. A LADY IN THE AUDIENCE WAS GIVEN THE PANTS BECAUSE SHE KNEW THE CAUSE. DURING THE VIDEO SHOOT, HF AND CREW CONSUMED FOUR DOZEN VOODOO DONUTS (THEY HAVE A FRANCHISE AT DISNEY CITYWALK). HOME FREE DOES VIDEO SHOOTS WHILE ON TOUR AND FINDS PLACES TO DO THEM. I SAW THEM LIVE. 8/1/22 IN HERMISTON, OREGON, 9/23/22 IN PORTLAND AND AT A FREE OUTDOOR CONCERT, 8/3/23 IN ALBANY. OREGON.
That's hilarious! Thanks for subbing!
It's on our list
Wztch their performances on the Sing Off
Please react to street corner symphony "madness" if you want to hear chance doing bass. It was his former group that he was the bass singer for. Chance has an incredible range where not as low as geoff or tim he is still able to be a bass singer.
We'll check it out
Tim leaning to beboxer to
Did y'all hear the banjo sounds??
Yep!
You need to react to their cover of Mayday by Cam.
Well be doing that one soon, hopefully!
Chance can go as low as Tim. He is a true bass as well.
If you really want to see Adam shine try ain’t going down till the sun comes up
You need to listen to them do the Doobie Bros cover "listen to the music".
