I'm impressed. Most reactors don't catch that Tim drops an entire octave after his solo. And yes, Tim regularly blows sound systems when he drops into the subharmonics.

Chance goes sub-harmonic in May Day, and does the bass whenever Tim goes to the baritone or tenor ranges. In this one the bass is all Tim. Chance is also the Mouth Harp/Didgeridoo sound that is in the intro and outro of this one.

I always recommend people new to Home Free check out their cover of Huey Lewis' Workin' for a Living. It's upbeat, gives you a glimpse of their sense of humor, is the current lineup with close to their current looks, shows off *all* their singing skills (you didn't really get to hear their baritone, Chance, in this one other than him doing the jaw harp sound), features a masterful nomonica solo from Adam, and has all their names at the start of the video.

Great comments, guys! I love seeing a group reaction. Essential Home Free, beginning with their country strain: Ring of Fire, Folsom Prison Blues, Crazy (in the key of Patsy Cline), Hillbilly Bone, and Fishin in the Dark/Boondocks mashup; with the Oak Ridge Boys (Elvira). Shading into motown/R&B, gospel: Blue Ain't Your Color, End of the Road, Thinking Out Loud (Sheeran)/Let's Get It On (Marvin Gaye) mashup, and their collab with Kenny Rogers (Children, Go Where I Send Thee). They also do American Pie featuring Don McLean himself. Their video production is always high.

Well, it took 5 hrs for this to appear in my suggested videos, but here I am. 😆 That was Adam Rupp - beatboxer/percussionist extraordinaire playing his infamous "nomonica". The sound you heard at the end was Adam "Chance" - baritone - making a jaw harp sound. These guys are insanely talented. New sub - btw, fans of Home Free are called home fries ----->🍟 Thanks guys.

They can do all genres, believe it or not Austin & Rob even sang Nassun Dorma (from the Opera Turandot) in a video last year. Some recommendations : Stargazer Lillies (an original written by Austin Brown), End of the Road (Boyz2Men cover), The Driver (Charles Kelly cover), I can't outrun you (a Trace Adkins cover), and Sea Shanty Medley

They originated in Minnesota and were not considered a country group until they appeared on a show called The Sing-Off (season 4) and the producers knew a couple of the guys were from the South and wanted something different for the show. They said ok to consider themselves country acapella for the show and they ended up winning the whole thing that season. Voiceplay was on the Sing-Off the same season as Home Free and they got to know each other. (PTX was in Sing Off season 3) The beatboxer Adam Rupp is amazing! There are live versions of this song in concert and the beatboxer was holding the mic with one hand and using the other to help make the harmonica sound. They say they are the world's first country acapella group, but they are so much more than that. They add beat (beatboxer) to country songs and add a tad bit of country flair to pop, r&b and other hit cover song genres they have done. They are just truly unique. During their concert, they have about a 10-minute beatbox solo in the middle of the show. They have done Patsy Cline songs, Johnny Cash covers, and also other covers that are not country like Boyz ll Men "End Of The Road" They have loads of videos, including many good originals (I like "Dreamer") to choose from and they are all good to listen to.

    They are amazing!
    Some Home Free suggestions;
Spiritual: How Great Thou Art. (Amazing!)
R & B: End of the Road. (Better than the original?)
Romantic: When a Man Loves a Woman (One of their best! You will love this one..)
5 Part Harmony (No beat boxing): Brothers in Arms.
Motown (sorta): Blue Ain't Your Color.
    Country: Hillbilly Bone.
    Christmas: Mary Did You Know.
Beat Boxing: Adam Rupp's Drum Solo.
    Collaboration: American Pie and Elvira.
Patriotic: Tavelin Soldier, God Bless the U.S.A, and Land of the Free.
Other Great Songs: In the Blood, My Church, Amazed, Unchained Melody and Fishin’ in the Dark / Down in the Boondocks.

Tim Foust, worked with Avi and Voice Play (Jeff) on certain sounds of bass. Tim has a range of 5 Octave he is the Best 😮! You would be surprised how little Home Free has to practice. Any of us would practice endless hours. It is known for Tim to record a song on 1 recording. BTW, How Great Thou Art by Home Free is beautiful and the scenery is gorgeous. You may want to do a reaction to it. They had requests for recording this song.

I'd describe contemporary 'country' (most of it after the late 1980s) as "Country-themed Rock". Listen to the drums and guitar handling, and it's pretty much straight rock and roll.

@@weaintraisedrightpodcast LOL i completely get it. I understand that Chance achieves the sound by a technique called throat singing. You guys should check out the live version of this song. They actually use a looper which helps them sound like the studio version...only so many voices to go around. Also the lead singer, Austin, joins the best boxer in a no-monica duet. They are amazing.

The talent and skill level of these 5 guys is almost supernatural. Individually, each of their unique and varied talents are formidable, but together, they are a force of nature. Adam Rupp's beat boxing and vocal percussion blows it out of the water every time. The sound you were trying to place is the sound of a mouth harp being done vocally by Adam Chance. The guys' voices are all fabulous. Liked your reacitons.

Nope, not blue grass. It’s an old Folk song, first recorded around 1915. It’s the song of a slave, bidding farewell to all he knows and loves, before he rides “That Northern Railroad “, an underground network that smuggled slaves to freedom. Originally called “The Goodbye Song “ or sometimes “The Farewell Song “.

Home Free is the real deal. They are country but they sing all genres of music. They also write and sing their own songs. Their latest album So Long Dixie has 12 originals on it. The beatboxer Adam is amazing. When they do this song live the lead singer in this song Austin joins him in doing the harmonica. Tim Foust is the bass and has a 5 octave range so he can go lower than this and then sing up with the tenors (no kidding!). If you like bass try Brothers in Arms, Helplessly Hoping, Yours. Have a great weekend. George Clooney does not sing in O Brother Where Art Thou….great movie though. 🥰😄

New subscriber. Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas! They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, American Pie featuring Don McLean, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints, The Driver, Crazy and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone and one their newest ones, Ray Stevens' Mississippi Squirrel Revival. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother...the list goes on. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole, you're in for a hell of a ride.

Maybe the next place to go with this group is Boyz 2 Men's. End of the Road. Shows their versatility..Or, you might like to hear their take on Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues. After that, I think it's basically just pick a song, any song from recommendations and I don't think you'll be disappointed. Their catalog is extensive. Great reaction, guys! You've had a couple of days to read all these comments, so you know more about HF and its amazing fan base! Home Free is my favorite of the really amazing a cappella groups. If you'd like a close-up camera view of what kind of "instruments" each of them can portray, give a look/listen to "Can't Stop the Feeling"! They do an "instrumental" break-down in the middle that is SO much fun. So, who needs to pack all that equipment when you have Home Free? Or, if you want harmonica solos, find "Ain't Going Down 'til the Sun Comes Up"! The energy of both of those performances always make me happy and wanting to just get up and dance! Follow recommendations to do the 2015 drum solo that Adam delivered live in concert! You will not be disappointed.

Hey guys! Great reaction! Just subbed for more Home Free, Voice Play, & Geoff Castalucci! If you guys like the bass you need to react to Avi Kaplan the former bass of Pentatonix. He went solo and has a lot of AMAZING songs. I would start with Change On The Rise 🥰

Gotta check out their cover of Folsim Prison Blues by Johhny Cash or their cover of Brothers In Arms Tim flexes his low subs. Also, Ring of Fire cover is awesome. They also did a cover of Crazy by Patsy Cline. They are the superior accapella group, in my opinion. They make people that don't like country like their take on country. Trust me, you will never be disappointed.

Hey guys! Great reaction! Adam Rupp the beatboxer is definitely from another planet. Take a listen to this one, it's from a few years ago but it will show you the driving force that Home Free has behind their sound. Home Free: Drum Solo [SPM ST15]. Have a great day.

Good job fellas! If you want to see Tim Foust's talent, do Brothers in Arms then watch Mayday back to back and realize that Tim is the 1st singer in both songs. Most fans will say don't do Mayday until you know every .e.bers normal roles. I think it is better when you don't know and try to figure out what the hell is going on.

keep up the good work! If you keep reacting to HomeFree, the Home Fries will find you. I would suggest Ring of Fire (featuring Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix), Folsom Prison Blues (Johnny Cash cover), When A Man Loves A Woman, and for a good bit of comedy.. HillBilly Bone, Butts Remix. for serious, Brothers in Arms. Whatever yyou do. Stay away from Mayday until you learn who is who and what they do.

This moment has always bothered me.. Kevin is amazing and deserves so much credit for his skill. But AJ made an assumption based off of nothing but bias. It's fine to favor PTX. They're incredibly talented. But a baseless claim that Kevin is also capable of the nomonica is super disrespectful to Adam Rupp. Love ya AJ, but in this case, you're mistaken.

SORRY! George Clooney did not sing this or any song. His aunt is the famous singer Rosemary Clooney, but he admittedly can't sing. The movie version was done by Union Station (Alison Krauss's backing band) sung by Dan Tyminski.
Home Free "Elvira" with the Oak Ridge Boys. Their bass sang back up for Elvis for about 3 years. Time of this video he was 79yo. Tim Foust can sing 5 octaves.
You want to hear him go low.
He is known for breaking speakers.

I saw that all 4 of you noticed that Tim dropped an octave, something most reacts miss. And that wasn't that low for Tim. Tim & HF got to know Geoff Castellucci & Voice Play when the two groups were on NBC's The Sing-Off Season 4 in 2013 HF won. The 2 groups (& Filharmonic another group on the show) did The Sing-Off Tour together. VP & HF even did a goofy video of them singing Survivor. (Found on HF'S YT channel & probably VP's channel.) Anyway, welcome to the HF very deep rabbit hole!

You gotta do more Home Free. There's a lot to choose from. Whichever genre you like they probably have done it. They have a Patsy Cline song, Crazy. They have some Boys 2 Men. They have religious and patriotic songs. They have an entire medley about butts. If you want more harmonica I recommend Huey Lewis and the News Workin' For a Living. It's one of their funny ones and has a crazy harmonica solo. All of the guys are lead singers in different songs except for Adam Rupp the beatboxer. He will sing in the 5 part harmony songs but he doesn't want to sing a solo. He does a drum solo in every live show.
