If you want to Adam Rupp in his glory, do Listen to the Music. He is off the chart and also does the very high tones in the breakdown.
The Sea Shanty Medley is another great Adam Rupp spotlight. Shows off a wide range of his skills 😊
Shut the front door! They just killed this song. Wow. Talent level is off the charts
Home Free is not with a major record label but they do get claims, blocks and strikes. Might be their distributor, Orchard.
This is one of their best non-country covers. I love their version of John Mayer’s “In the Blood”. It shows off their voices, but it’s sad and slow.
For upbeat, “Can’t Stop the Feeling” or “Finally Free”.
On the country side, “Folsom Prison Blues”, “Hillbilly Bone”, “My Church”.
“Butts Medley” is a 6 song mash up with a common theme from 2015 is still fun. Founder Chris Rupp is in the older video, in a cowboy hat.
For pure harmony “Brothers in Arms”, “Helplessly Hoping”, “Seven Bridges Road”.
Yes!!!! All that❤❤
That was one of the best reactions to this song by HF I've seen.
I second the recommendation of The Sea Shanty Medley followed by their newest Skull and Bones. It'll blow y'all right outta of the water! (Pun intended)
Before joining Home Free, Adam Chance was in another accapella group called Street Corner Symphony. He was their bass singer.
He sings the bass line for HF whenever Tim is singing something else.
This song was Home Free's tip of the hat to Boyz II Men. Shawn Stockman was one of the judges on The Sing-Off. Rob rises to the occasion.
I'm rolling at the "do we make the mix tape now" 😂😂😂😂😂
Homefree has 5 tenor, 2 baritone, 2 bass and probably the best Beatbox in Acapella!
For something completely different than anything you heard from Home Free
Home Free they just released an original written by Chance Skull and Bones it’s for the video game Skull And Bones Ubisoft is releasing soon. They have a Lyric video and they sang it Live at Ubisoft Live Premiere. It’s Epic
It is on the list!
Make SURE to watch the live performance from Summer Game Fest!! It's a shorter version, but I like it better than the produced version. You can see what everybody is doing, you can hear the soaring tenors MUCH better, and Tim is simply awe-inspiring with how low he goes!! 👍❤🤯
@@leslieoneal4464 it’s way shorter
A lot of reactors listen to both versions
@lynnramsay8821 it's about 30 secs shorter, but I prefer it over the lyric version. 😉🥰
Check out Home Free's cover of Listen to the Music. It's phenomenal. The Doobie Brothers used 2 drum sets, guitars, keyboards and other instruments on this iconic song and 50 years later HF made it amazing once again using only Adam and their own vocal talents.
Rob was so good. Yes, they all take the lead depending on the song. To hear more bass try I Can’t Outrun You, Helplessly Hoping, Brothers in Arms, In the Blood. Love HF. Tremendous group. When they were on the NBC show the Sing Off (they won in 2013) Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men was a judge and he loved them. I think they did the song justice.
Tim is doing the bass line. He mixes lyrics and bass guitar lines throughout the song.
I was not too far into my Home Free journey when I saw that they did this. My initial reaction was "Really? REALLY???". I'm not a big fan of the original (don't shoot me), and still not a fan of the song because it's just chorus after chorus after chorus. BUT.... the boys killed it. My first response was "Rob? What the heck, Dude?". I have since heard him do many more amazing things - including Nessum Dorma with Austin - which is fabulous, by the way. Or check out their original "Catch Me If You Can" where he again has a powerful lead. So much great music from these guys.
I mean there is always someone who isn't a fan still a great song and cover🤷♂️😂
Home Free are vocal chameleons - Tim (bass) has a 5+ octave range. When he's singing lead, Chance takes bass. Rob & Austin can sing opera ("Nessun Dorma" on Austin's channel), blues and anything else. Adam (beatboxer) truly must be an alien. 3 of them are song writers so there are lots of originals as well as covers. They tour 150-200 shows a year so there are also lots of live videos. Keep falling down the rabbit hole - it's a terrific trip!
You're not ready yet to watch "Mayday", but watch their version of "When a Man Loves a Woman" - just terrific.
I heard they couldn’t do the talking part for legal reasons 🤷🏻♀ Either way they kill it!
You guy's are gonna love their cover of Listen To The Music.....
They are so amazing. Most of their covers are upgrades, and their original stuff is crazy good. When you think there's no instruments.....geez.
When Home Free does a cover, they pay homage to the original, but always make it their own. Their covers are always upgrades❣️🎼🥰🎶❤
As far as I'm concerned all of the Home Free guys "emote" through their music/videos better than just about anyone else out there--and in this one Rob showcases his gospel/R&B genius in a way that seems to surprise everyone ❣️❣️❣️
I'd like to see what you all think of their version of Listen to the Music and Brothers at Arms. In my opinion, they are amazing, but of course I'm a Home Fry. LOL! Love catching up with y'all. Peace from Kentucky
Home Free has a VERY diverse catalog, including country, R&B, classic rock, etc. ad infinitum! I understand there was a reason for Tim skipping the speaking part, legal reason I think. Boyz II Men were much too late for my groupie years, but they were often playing on the radio while I enjoyed this particular song more than any other boy band number. Loved your reactions!
Thank you!
Chance is the other bass. Does bass when Tim sings higher/lead
Nothing is going to beat the original.
And not everyone from HomeFree could sing ANY part in this song. Though they all have wider ranges than one song would indicate.
But I do like this version very much.
I like their cover of Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling” even better than the original. And their video is such a fun way to kick off summer.
I get nestalgoc when i hear their cover of “amazed”
Rob was amazing in this one he took this song to church
I think I must be a few years older than you guys, as I was graduating & getting married at the height of the popularity of Boyz 2 Men. I do remember making mix tapes on my "personal stereo system" (AKA boom box).
Shawn Stockman was a judge on The Sing Off, and he called country music "white men's R&B". There are a lot of similarities in the melodic lines and harmonies between them. It is what makes it so easy for a group to Home Free to take "End of the Road' and make it theirs, while still honoring the original version.
One that doesn't get a lot of play from reactors that hits the country/R&B line from the other side is their mashup of "Woman, Amen" with "Female".
When Home Free was on the sing off and won in 2014 Shawn Stockman was one of the judges... HF impressed him so much he wanted them to do the cover... Although the deep bass talking portion of the song had to be omitted or at least changed... Many rumors have been going around as to why but I have never heard a definitive reason....
"Rob going off " should be the subtitle.
And you have to give it to them, it's acapella, all vocals. Amazing!
They can do anything...as in Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera...absolutely fantastic! Rob shines in their Motown style cover of Blue Ain't Your Color. They also do a lot of great videos during quarantine like Folsom Prison Blues and Gambler. They released about two videos every month and I found them at the beginning of COVID and they sustained me throughout the whole thing. Love also Chris Stapleton Tennessee Whiskey.
This was well done. I’m afraid I didn’t do the ‘Boy Band’ era. Too into ‘alternative rock’ still at the time. But I’m older than ya’ll. When VoicePlay did their “Boy Bands in 5 Minutes” I only knew the oldies. (Jackson 5, Temptations, etc). But I did enjoy this. And I enjoyed ya’ll reminiscing! Nice reaction!
Yup. I think my kids are too old for boy bands😜
FYI, on Tim’s channel he does doo wop and sings all the parts
That sounds amazing!
I'm older than all of y'all, and I got that puppy love feeling right away. This song brings up memories for all of us. Chance is holding down the bass and Adam the beatboxer is going great. What a showcase for Rob on this -- Home Free lets the best singer for the song go for it. I highly recommend "When a Man Loves a Woman" for another great classic. More Home Free, please!
There’re two Tenors…
whereas Austin is like taking a shot of crème de menthe and stepping out into a starlit winter’s night , Rob is more akin to a velvet canoe gliding along a river of honey. (Imho)
That might be one of the best descriptions of anything that I've ever read;
They killed this! Boyz II Men should be proud! Love your reactions!
Love Home Free ❤
The bass line is Adam Chance. He on the right in the back
They can all beat box too! 9-5/break out live. They each "try out" for the lead.
Great reaction, thanks! I'm also too old for boy bands. I was still listening to Steppenwolf and Jethro Tull :) My kids drove me nuts with this song, I Swear etc. Home Free also has a great cover of that with a funny video. They also did NSYNC's Bye Bye Bye long ago, which is still fun!
That's awesome!
You want to see Tim Foust do some great range watch him do Stay/ Will you love me Tomorrow.
Great reaction guys! 🔥🔥
Thank you 🙌
I suggest “Brother” by Home Free
Love Home Free! ♥️
I really enjoyed watching your faces. Thanks for reacting to Home Free.
Loved y’all’s reactions. I’ve subbed for your Home Free reactions. Cover lots of Home Free and we Home Fries will come in droves once they discover you. Let’s get you 10,000 by the end of the year. ✌️
Thank you, so much! From your lips to the UA-cam gods' ears!
For another good flashback, try their cover of Listen to the Music.
Let us introduce you to Gospel Rob! Home Free has such depth, we can't wait for you to dive deeper down their rabbit hole. Some suggestions to feature each of them:
I Can't Outrun You and Dive Bar Saints (orginal) - Chance
When a Man Loves a Woman and Love Me Like That (original) - Austin
Folsom Prison Blues and So Long Dixie (original) - Tim
Listen to the Music and Workin' for a Livin' - for some amazing percussion, etc. by Adam;
and Blue Ain't Your Color for more Rob.
I agree with American Pie and Lee Greenwood ft and would like to add Listen To The Music (Doobie Brothers). It really highlights Adam and his beatboxing. I love you guys and would love to see more Home Free reactions.
We just recorded our reaction to Ring of Fire, tonight! should be out in a few weeks.
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast yay! I was going to suggest this. Get to “know” them before you check ou “MayDay”. “Loved Me Like That” is an origami written by Austin. Aso, check out “When a Man Loves a Woman” &. “How Great Thou Art”. Straight acapella & beautiful visuals.
You should try American Pie that showcases all their voices as well as Don McClean.
Wait! Are you saying that Don McLean is featured on Home Free's cover?!!!
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast, yep. It was the 50th anniversary of the song when it was released. 🙂
Holy sweet Jesus! That's one of ours
Ogre's favorite songs of all time! That is definitely on the list
@@weaintraisedrightpodcastot only is Don featured, he actually contacted them to record it for the 50th anniversary of the song. Then, when he got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he requested Home Free to preform it during the ceremony. It’s the only time in the history of the Walk of Fame that there has been a live musical performance during a dedication ceremony.
Rob really cut loose with this one. He was always good, but he really let it all out in this song and never looked back. He just got so much better after this, and I didn't think that was possible.
Yes! He did an amazing job!
Great reaction guys! I'm too old for boy bands, I listened to country and heavy metal. Have you reacted to a drum solo from Adam Rupp yet? It will blow your mind😉
Not yet!
Def do more hf. Unchained melody, stand by me. Etc
❤HOMEFREE❤
Great reaction guys. If you want to hear who carried the base in this one, please check out their cover of Mayday
I swear Rob must’ve been a breakout star on his high school track team, because DAYUMN …that boy can Run!🤩😎🕺🏿🕺🏿🕺🏿
We saw what you did, there!
Lol
You should check out Mayday by HF and for Christmas, Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.
They did I Swear
Gospel Rob.
People who react to "Man of Constant Sorrow" first (I don't know if that's the one you reacted to but a lot of people do that one first) and then "End of the Road" second can be excused for feeling a bit of whiplash.
Chance is holding down the bass here. He is usually the bass when Tim is not.
Check out their version of Pasty Cline's "Crazy"!!!!
It's on our list!
No, this is 30 years back, not 20.
You're right. We're so old that we forget how old we are. LOL
