      Chieti is such a fantastic town. Definitely worth a visit. We often pop there for a wander around the beautiful streets, a bit of shopping and always an aperitivo!

      @@ExploringAbruzzo We live in Portland, Maine! My wife is an Italian professor, and am a dual citizen, and we have spent a lot of time in Napoli and Firenze. But my family comes from Abruzzo (Castelli, Miglianico), so I plan to visit soon! Possibly in January, fingers crossed.

    Ahaha, that's my favorite bar as well! I've been wanting to check out the archeology museum and if we get a weekend with good weather soon I'd like to pop up to Chieti and make a day of it.

    • @ExploringAbruzzo
      @ExploringAbruzzo  2 роки тому +1

      It's a wonderful place isn't it! Love popping there just for a mooch and of course a drink or two! You must get to the museum, we thought it was fabulous! When you say 'pop up' where are you based?

      @@ExploringAbruzzo I don't recall its name but I've had occasion to visit Chieti a few times and that bar just immediately gets my attention on every visit! I'm just outside Lanciano, so Chieti is an easy trip anytime I have the day off.

    Looks lovely. Your walking tours are so much better than the others on UA-cam. Others video and don't talk. It's good to hear your views. It was very quiet is that because of lockdown or because it's October? Thanks

    • @ExploringAbruzzo
      @ExploringAbruzzo  3 роки тому +1

      So glad you like our videos. We do like to talk LOL! It was really, really quiet as it was during one of the early lockdowns although we think we were allowed out?! Of course things quieten down here after the summer but October is still a busy tourist month. But there is all year round tourism too as there are plenty of ski resorts in Abruzzo, in fact the 5th largest Italian ski resort is here in Abruzzo - Roccaraso which is fabulous. Also plenty of cross country skiing and what we love doing as well is snow shoeing through the beautiful Abruzzese landscapes.

      @@shawnleaf6566 Oh you must come and visit the area your family comes from. I've heard of many Americans doing a bit of a 'genealogy' trip back to their roots using companies and locals to access birth records etc... Very exciting!
