- A fantastic and unique property in the heart of this beautiful village close to many wonderful towns including Sulmona, Raiano, Popoli and Corfinio.
The location is in the heart of Abruzzo with easy access to both sea and ski and with very good transport links to Rome.
Like many others on our website this one is not to be missed. To find out more click the link ahomeinitaly.c...

People are so Negative!! Unless you visit these beautiful towns you can’t get the true experience. And if you have and don’t like it move on! Some may need more work than others. But you can also find ones fixed for more $$. I just purchased a townhouse house in the Abruzzo region prime location from Roma, beaches etc.
Thank you for sharing this video. Meraviglioso ❤
Removing the plaster would make the rooms extremely dark, more cave like than they already are. It has a problematic layout and the cantina is well again a cave. Basically 3 rooms, some caves, and hallway spaces. As for ripping out walls on a whim, moving bathrooms here and there, roof terraces...why do you think no one has done it before? You would need an architect, experienced workmen, permissions, and trucks of money. Realities that you need to consider. If you are single and don't mind dark rooms it might work.
Wow, wow, and wow! Great property! Should go fast! Too bad it’s not located in Raiano😢. This village is little bit too sleepy for my taste.
As far as the layout goes, I would make the fireplace room in to a living room, the room next to it in to a dining room (or a kitchen) , open up the wall in between to get more light in, the dark room up the stairs , I would make in to a storage room/ pantry, laundry room. Upstairs add a full bath; and a terrace would be a must for me. Downstairs, the now a dungeon space I would make in to a spa room. You are welcome😂😂😂
Not to be repetitive, but there is so much potential here. 😍
Great sales pitch! Place has endless potential. Would need $$$$$$ spent!
The potential is obvious! This looks fantastic and at a great price!
Until earthquake happen
Fun fact: All homes must have earthquake rods to protect from any damage. @@patcardiff2563
I love this house. I'm anxious to get there to see what changes could be done inside to improve the flow on the prima terra. Also, i would suggest putting the bathroom on secundo terra right over the downstairs WC since it is an established water wall already. Which would make a small galley kitchen in the main front room logical too. With the fireplace, my sofa and arm chairs, , my custom table, the corner galley kitchen will have my espresso machine and I will shout buon giorno to my neighbors as they wander down the street to see if I can hook them into a cup. Vittorito looks like the kind of town one would only need an ebike for. I could park that right in my entry way, or down in the dungeon...I mean "cantina".
I’d love to see an example of a similar one that’s finished
And you're OK with it being 100k more? lol
@@thehungrygoldfish She just said what (at current count) 32 other people were thinking: Wouldn't it be lovely to see it all done up...
@@reesemorgan2259Yes. I’m just saying it would be four times the price lol. Most people have unrealistic expectations. They want a large move in ready mansion on the beach in the city center in a popular desirable city for the same price of a one bedroom shack in the middle of nowhere.
I love this property and location. I suspect it was sold long ago. If you hear of any similar propertys in this location I'd love to hear. I will be in Abruzzo in about two months looking for a wonderful home location.
looks like a beauty, how much are the yearly taxes?
I think in Italy there is no property tax on your primary residence.
This place is a steal. A lot of the really expensive work(plumbing and electric) has already been done. Need to find a way to get some light inside.....but wow. Amazing find.
What plumbing?
No plumbing!
Guys. There is no plumbing.
@hondacivicchic finally someone with eyes...lol
Stunning I would love to live there and give up the world.
That place would be good for you must be very quiet
Feeling the same
I am definitely interested. How can I get more information and get the ball rolling?
The wrecking-ball you mean?
The potential is incredible! I’m so ready to move!
Go on then.
And yet you never will….
If you want to live in Abruzzo, you have to be careful as it is a very seismic area.
29.000 euro in Denmark 🤔 you might be able to buy a garage or underground parking lot.
Same in Austria 🤣
That's a seismic red zone!!!
This is a very important info to take into account when buying a house in Italy. Unfortunately, people rarely talk about it.
😮
So is Los Angeles...!!!
What do seismic mean
Earthquakes
Great video showing off the beautiful place. Is there any outdoor space, porch? Is there a new roof? Thanks!
I lived for four years in Italy, and can’t wait to get back there again.
Why did u come back?
This is a great home for someone interested in living in Italy. Well done. Having renovated a couple houses in Italy. This layout is really great. If I was in the market I would buy it.
Agree
Se hai 90 anni….
What about those upper rooms or attics?
I wouldn't make it a room unless there is a window in there.
What about earthquakes...?
Why in teh hell would any one want to do this? there is NOTHING there
I remember prospecting in Pescara some 18 years ago in the winter where there was an abundance of unoccupied derelict hilltop homes that were for sale around Euro 10K. I wonder what has become of those homes and the seemingly sleepy town.
in 2009 there was a strong earthquake in the hinterland of the region
We want a holiday home. 4 months a year. Will they allow it. We are 54/60 years old couple but quite active. This is beautiful house. Will it be easy for us to get it finished.
Very nice. Why did the current owners abandon the project?
Find me something like this. Moving from New Jersey USA. Let me know
Where are all the people? Streets look empty.
Don’t ee worry.
Them folks only come out after dark….
Working?
Watching football?
Getting drunk in the bar
I don't need any people!
Great place, and just wondering how long by train it would take from Rome to sulmona and where could I get the train timetables so that I could see what other towns have trains linking them directly to Rome?
Usually from Rome to Abruzzo there are busses, It Is fastest since they use the highway Roma/Pescara. The rail sistem from Rome to Abruzzo Is outdated brobably because of all the Appennini Mountains . Sulmona /Roma by car or bus Is a 2 hours trip( more or less)
@@patriziaalma7498 Rome Fiumicino to Pescara Centrale is 2.5hrs by express highway coach so just over an hour to Sulmona. Thats assuming no traffic jam on GRA in Rome, otherwise all bets are off ....
hi Love your channel and your web page .. I was thinking it would be super helpful if you would include the cost of renovation ..maybe three levels of design such as a low medium and high level of design .. low being basic with basic materials and interior design and high being costlier materials such as floors and counter tops etc.. I know you can not guarantee a final cost but a good go by would help me make an informed decision.. just an idea and again love the service you are providing
How can someone else calculate for you? The labor the material and what you want is differ by region.
@@anna_m59 hello and thank you for your response. I agree with your statement regarding designing the interior myself but my talent for interior design is limited at best and I don’t really know what I like until I see the finished home. I’m looking forward to growing in regard to design and perhaps working with you in the future
Thanks so much 😊
I am Italian and the question is: how come this property is so cheap?
Because it’s a dump….
You will need to ask the residents of this town why…. But they won’t tell you either!
Vedi che bel paese gremito di giovani?? Un oceano di belle ragazze…!!!!.altro che Las Vegas Miami New York…..
I looked to purchase a house in Abruzzo several years ago.
This is a great value and in very good condition. I opted to purchase a house in Lucca in very similar condition. I spent 28k to renovate. Out of that, $11k was for 11 windows.
Eight ceiling lights and 4 wall sconces purchased and installed.
Spackling as needed an 2 coats of paints.
All new IKEA kitchen.
Basically, find local tradesmen and things are very reasonable to remodel
What would be your estimate to renovate this house? I have no experience with doing renovation, so I would have to hire people to do the job.
@@NorceCodine $75k - $80k for 2 bathrooms and one kitchen with hot water.
I would like to see before and after exposing rock and the cost of these renovations. How much is running new electrical in the area, and how much does it cost to put a bathroom?
Great property but no bathroom or toilet???
I love this property...
Amazing property! If it had any kind of a terrace space I'd buy it today!
Could you talk about water suply ???
A lovely town and a special property ☺👌🌺💚...
This place is absolutely stunning. I could picture it finished. Wow. It makes me want to pack my bags and get the next flight out. Just loved this tour.
Really, really enjoy your videos!
Thank you…. Where do people park their cars?
It looked like the little square just down from the house had space for cars, then the next larger square down had a lot more parking. I was thinking a scooter would probably fit either just outside the door, or even in the entrance hall if it was an electric scooter.
Your car is a Vespa and she would fit in the cellar or the entrance.
Where I live, It would cost more than the total price of this place to build one or those stone vaults in that lower level (on the groin vaulted ceiling). It would cost more to build a stone fireplace around here. That place is wonderful. Like a dream. Unbelievable price.
thank you. Took me back to when I lived in Italy. I would give up a trip to ireland to visit Italy again
Overwelming 😧 but the facade is on the nort. From 3 sides I closed. And ancient buildings are protected worse than Britain. And therefore costly. Nothing can done against the will of the ancient building department. Good and reliable construction in general and architect needed and a lawyer or architect self who deals with all the red tape and they are verse long wide and thick without a shortcots
As you used such a nice expression I guessed your are from that very island and your name told me you want to avoid the hunger games. But you are not from the island and your are already into the games (Landwirte). I read your file and in our age brother ugly is normal - look my avatar and yours, seems I am closer to reality. I agree with your points, so what are you doing here? I could ask myself the same question btw. I left for Latinland to sit out the EU crash on distant shores. Do not answer I would not see it. All the best!
Loved this property! I was wondering though the size of the rooms. And if the sqm footage considered the raw cave behind the room that could be connected to rhe "possible kitchen", as well as the cantina. Thanks. I have the italian citizenship already..
It’s really beautiful!
One of the most earthquake prone regions on earth, but not mentioned.
That is my only worry about this region...
Looks like a scene from the movie The American with George Clooney and Violante Placido. See the movie if you want to see more of Abruzzo.
not for me, would be like living in a cave
It just takes money. It's missing some outdoor space, It would make a great B&B.
It would make a great torture chamber more likely….
What a property stunning
Thanks for showing this home. What year was it built?
Yes, I would like to know the age of the original structure, thank you.
Looks wonderful with a unique floor plan. Lots of options 😊💪👍📺
BTW. What would you say is the average per square meter renovation or construction costs? 🚧 🛠💰👍
Is it still for sale ... it would be perfect for living/ renting ... love it ALSOOOO .... but this is put my interrior in , bake a cake for the neighbers and be happy ... i realy think that. Just oke for the beach (i won't be in a hurry) no more ... could go skïng, like i did so many years ... until you stopt living , only working working ... love the collors , the soft pastels .. well everything.
Ahhhh... you're killing me Dave!! LOL If not for Jeffs disability, I would jump at this property... live in our apartment whilst working on this one! But, not to be... and I'm sure you wont have any trouble selling this one quickly. I will email you soon regarding taking possession of our beautiful apartment in February... talk soon... big hugs, Sheryl
Yes it certainly is beautiful 💖🇦🇺
Too many steps for senior living
Very unusual structures but to me the vaulted ceilings which take arched brick work and heavy masonry are not doing any good for living unless you are a wine bottle or a bat. Id see bout that terrace inorder to intall severalr skylights to below. We have a 64 foot long lodge type building we bought in retirement but it also has a 64 foot peaked skylight. No artificial light at all needed even in winter. At minimum Id do through windows to all the rooms without windows into those that do. And make the outside windows bigger! Or have tube skylights even if you have to box them into corners of rooms to pass through to others below. It may make a better wine tasting room and small bistro.
If you like cold winter and earthquake,it is a perfect place to move
The interior of abruzzi gets quite cold in the winter, though I am not sure if they are close to sea level or not…. If they are then it won’t be too bad…..quakes are another problem!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Better make that room with the fireplace you kitchen, bath, bedroom, and living room. During July you can branch out into other rooms.
Holy moly that place is precious!!
OMG, this is better than the last one. I want it so much, but as I said previously can I retire in Italy from Australia???
From Australia to Italy?…. You surely must be joking!
@@Slo-rydeWhy not?
What’s there not to like, I would make that little domed room from the main entrance or the dark room into a relaxation area or have a hot tub put in..
At some point in life we need the mancave. THIS IS IT and how nice is that 🤩👀
Why do all these European towns look dead? Are there any young people or families? Or are they only populated with a small number of elderly folks?
Simply because in order to find a job you have to move to a bigger city, but is perfect if you have a pension or savings.
No jobs No schools
Only elderly. Italy is a disaster. It has been facing economic difficulties and struggling financially for decades now (and this despite its economy being a heavyweight by global standards!), mostly tied to its dysfunctional political scene and administrative corruption and inefficiency. These are ghost towns, which is why there are schemes offering houses at low cost precisely in order to repopulate them. You know, those 1 euro houses, which, when taking into account the fine print, the maintenance involved and the contractual obligation to carry it out in a given time, are really being offered at their true value, if not overpriced.
No work so unfortunately young move to larger cities and abroad
@@kencur9690 Living in one of these villages is much better than living in an ugly American city (they looks all the same with few exception) with ugly architecture junk food loss of any culture . Not to forget that in Italy you have sea lakes beautiful cities mountain very close one another , in US you have to take the plane for almost everything.
Must be the only place in Italy with a good 🚌 service
LOL
Will you please show any available in San Vito Chietino, or closer to the coast?
Merhaba, Bu gayrimenkulu satın almak için nereye başvurmak gerekiyor. Türk vatandaşıyım..
Info how to purchase.....USA citizen
Parece que casa de banho não é prioridade em muitas casas kkkkk
This is really amazing for that price.
Hi, could you tell me whom is selling this property, thanks james
@@jamesmorrow3832 The link is in the description :)
Neferterria Odom Queensland primary
what about taxes and legal fees etc etc ???
Revealing the stones would lower the ceilings visually, I think that they have done a good job with the plaster finish. It has potential to be a lovely little nest.
My thoughts exactly, I would never reveal the stones, it would be also much darker. It looks nice as it is...
If it sold , I would love to see what was done to make it livable . Too many rooms without even a window .. Think Cheese caves . It would smell of stale and moldy air all the time ... Eccho alot and famous last words buying next to a belltower church . " I was told the bells almost never ring all night " !
Unless you personally know the people who bought the house, they’re probably not going to let you film and upload a video of their house. You can’t just knock on someone’s door and demand that you film their house, lol
I recall that the ancient author Ovid was from Sulmona.
Yes!
Beautiful house. However, it is in the middle of the day and the house is super dark. It is lovely, but lots of renovations to make it a happy house full of light.
Do you know if there are stables close by? I am interested in some low-cost horse property. Or a property close to a good stable. Thank you. Olivia
I have not seen stables in Italy like we have here in the US., but then again, I haven't really looled. You would have to do a Google search and see what you can find.
Absolutely love it! All it needs is that terrace but I wouldn’t remove that vaulted ceiling if a terrace could be built around it. Hoping there are plenty of such characterful properties left at this price when I arrive.
Yeah lots. Italy property is not hot, the locals are not buying, they inherit. Properties are very slow to move, your only competition is another foreigner basically.
also you can not make a terrace. we have strict rules in italy.
@@lorenzomana7595 Understood. Rules help keep Italy beautiful. However, those views. Who wouldn’t want a terrace to take in all that beauty?
@@roxythefoxsayfurismurderan3187 I understand, but for sure the will not give you the permit to build a terrace.
@@lorenzomana7595 understood but I’d still love to live there, that house or another.
I see a book set here. The writer in me is always creating when I see places like this. Thank you for the tour!
Amazing place . Thank you for your expertise
Enjoy your videos very much, they are very informative and educational, congratulations for a well job done, could you please let me know if this property is still available, am very interested, blessings.
Is this the only hotspot for foreign buyers?
How do we make an offer?
Rent first mates...then buy if you mingle with the place, the people etc. This 75% renovated property may be on the market at 29K for a reason.
Hello how close is the property to the ocean?
I just can’t look the diagonal floor installations. I know it’s very common in Italy but I get vertigo just look on UA-cam. It will be hard for me to find a place without this diagonal floor design.
Is population decline the cause of the "low" prices? (I don't have any basis to compare).
No, the property needs work, the market is healthy for foreign buyers. Obviously smaller villages don't have the population like before but they are the most popular for foreign buyers
No.
A disinclination to living in a cave…
This is a beautiful place!
WOW, you could go in and really make it YOUR own. Blank slate 😊
The cantina cpuld be turned to an air bnb
"ask the council if its ok to make it a terrace" = grease some palms to get approval. how much grease is the real question.
In california that would cost about 320k and people would buy
Is this house still for sale?
I couldn’t live in a place like that with barely no windows. Depressing. Weird layout too.
No natural light so I couldn’t live there, unless it’s possible to put in a shaft through the roof.
Perfect for vampires though.
Please don’t mention shafts….
In Sumer you would happy it’s nice and cool
29000 years old? Really? 😂
Kitchen? Bathroom not much left after u put them in. I’m sure it could end up nice but a big project
I mean, that's what you get with the relatively small price tag.
I am super interested in something similar with same or less price. Thank you
Wonder how easy to hire people to renovate and approximate budget to renovate a place like this?
I'd live there if it was move in ready with the terrace and that's even tho it's probably haunted af.
Hey brotha, I just came across your UA-cam channel. Great production and fantastic information! I'm Greek American, presently living in the US and thinking of purchasing a home in either Crete Greece or somewhere else beautiful in Greece. I prefer Greece because I am a citizen there however these homes are tempting as options as well. Do you happen to know someone such as yourself who produces similar property videos in Greece? Any recommendation or advice is appreciated and in the mean time I'll keep you in your channel and perhaps get over to see some properties you suggest and perhaps meet you as well.
Thank you!

Cool and cheap.
Still for sale?🥰
Is this still available
i see the way to separate this house into two rental apartments. great potential.
is there any winter sports amenities in the area? it could be all-year host house.
