    Thanx buddy. I have the neweer chest mount for my hiking..wanted to upgrade it . You have answered my curiosity.

    More great info, cheers Tim. I've got a third party one - when I'm doing a climb, you can hear a tapping sound where my heart's beating against the plastic plate. Might invest in the GoPro Chesty V2, just for a quieter ride

      Spot on - I forgot to mention that. I’ve done some videos where I’ve recorded my heart beating too... those cheaper ones work 100% fine like the old GoPro one, the Chesty 2.0 is a bit of a treat but it’s a nice harness.

    You have hit the theme, I mean you got the point! it's impossible to breathe with a chest mount properly fastened. I never though to keep it open during the ride (I'll try). Another point I can't stand is that the chest mount makes you sweat too much.

      My older chest mount straps stinks! Thats what 5+ years of sweating into it! I should maybe wash it! LOL

    I use a grope 8 and don't wear my chesty that tight and don't have a problem with it moving about, maybe body type plays a role in it? I agree the gopro chesty is worth the extra money. good review mate

    Thank you sir! Since i don't use it with a helmet and I don't have any friends to share it, i will go with the set to get some mounting tapes and a backpack mount to.

    Hi
    I’m looking for chest mount myself and stuck atm between chesty and the pgytech I really like the all soft cloth idea of pgytech but I like the central mount idea of GoPro shame they 2 companies can’t get together lol
    Have you tried the pgytech if so what did you think of it ?

    Interesting that the main difference is comfort. Unfortunately my main issue is the gorpro flapping around at the bike parks in rock garden sections even with the hyper smooth setting on. I guess its time to use a helmet mount as well, but if it means more comfort in my current set up, definitely will upgrade, thanks.

    • @TimFromWales
      @TimFromWales  2 роки тому +1

      It’s more comfortable yes, but it means you can be comfortable while strapping it tighter. The main reason yours is flapping is because you haven’t done it up tight enough.

    i had a cheap walmart Onn branded chest mount identical to the third party one in your video, after a few months of very light use, the stitching came undone and the whole thing is unusable now! will be investing in a chesty v2 shortly

    do 3rd parties sit lower than the official one ?

    • @TimFromWales
      @TimFromWales  3 роки тому

      Not really. Though I’ve seen people wear all of these lower by tightening the straps below the rib cage.
      These are designed to go higher and the closer to your head the better in my opinion

    I use the stuntman it’s way better. It contours to ya.

    • @TimFromWales
      @TimFromWales  3 роки тому +1

      I've never handled one - is the plate solid or flexy? I can see the benefit of it but if you are a bit plump or have big boobs, I don't think its ideal is it?

    • @Wannaridebikes
      @Wannaridebikes 3 роки тому +1

      @@TimFromWales it has a contour to a chest. It is worth to look at it comes with a pivot mount one thing I say bad about it is to many moving parts. But if ya lock it in it stays ..but a good thing about moving parts if ya crash the pivot will save your go pro.

      Yeah, got the Stuntman as well. Sure, it's a bit faffy to put on, but you really don't have to strap it down so tight you can't breathe. I can easily wear it all day with both the GoPro and gimbal mounted to it.

    Thanks for the comparison. I've got the Sametop. I use it with a gopro 9 and I run it with a 'J' attachment and upside down. I have never used the Gopro Chesty so I have nothing to compare it to but putting the straps on is just a matter of practice and remembering to put yer helmet on last! My main issue is the flopping up and down, which brought me to your clip trying to find a solution. I will tighten the shit out of the straps and try again. I've also looked into modifying some gopro accessories to attach to my chin bar (Bell Super Air) and though I love the added smoothness of the chin mount (check Skills with Phil) I prefer the vantage point of the chesty mount. I'm also a bit nervous of attaching something to my chin bar since I haven't quite figured out how to stop crashing. I would prefer a larger mounting plate as I think that would help with stabilization.

    • @TimFromWales
      @TimFromWales  2 роки тому

      The padded chest mount is the best I think. The chin angle is supposed to be good. Try Ragged Mounts - I think they do a good one for chin straps
