really struggled a lot trying to find that "perfect angle" till I knew from you that one can just mount the camera upside down. Thanks a lot!
No dramas! Glad I could help 🙌🏻
How's it looking? Waiting for mine in the post! Do you still get a good view or is it mostly handlebars?
Literally that.
@ 4:55 - this is the exact question that brought me here. I had no idea about the tightness of the chest strap and was cursing the footage I got from an amazing ride today. Thank you! Especially for the humor and candid single take 🤣
Cheers dude, exactly the kind of info we need!!!
Adam Pearce no worries mate! Glad I can help
Thank you for the quick and easy tips. Some folks out there are way long winded, you guys were straight to the point!
Thanks man I had the same problem where when I rode it would point at my knees and frame of the bike but this helped me a lot and I can't wait to get some sick clips tomorrow and Thanks again!
Thank you! I have been struggling with this. The upside down angle is just what I need to try next.
Thanks for this never thought of turning it upside.
Glad I could help 🙌🏻
Thank you !! Great vid! I’m 16 and got my first mountain bike yesterday and hit the trails today and recorded it with a chest mount with a GoPro I’ve had for a while. It pointed straight at my knees and I was so stoked to have my first time mountain biking on film😂 great vid tho keep it up
Brandon Lawhon ahaha don’t worry mate I’ve done the same thing! First time I rode downhill at big white in Canada I filmed my knees 😂 Get back out there and get some sick clips 🙌🏻
Same here hahaha
Thank you. It would be useful for me to use it on my next rail sessions (just did my first one last Sunday, camera used: fly6 rear camera)
Really appreciate this advice! Just got a GoPro for gravelbiking (not as extreme as you guys) and want to document some trips.
Thanks for the tips man... just bought one and now I know exactly what to do!!!
No worries mate! Happy filming 🎥
Thanks man! This was really helpful, I did some footage last time and it didn't come out great with the hero7 but now I think I got it
thanks mate! finally got me a chesty and i set it to super loose, but now I will tighten it first! Also I wasn't aware of setting it up upside down! but it makes perfect sense! So far I got a great rear mount but the front was either the handlebars or the helmet, too high or too low, and moving too much! Ill link my first video with the new chesty here later! cheers from the other side of the pacific
FAT BIKE skinny legs glad to hear I can help you out!
Thank you!! Two rides in wondering why I'm looking at my knees!! Just flip the camera! Awesome video.
Good advice...just received my first action cam and chest mount...didn't think about mounting it upside down...😬... Cheers
Yep, my chest mount came in the mail today and my first footage was all top tube, knees, and pedals. Upside down tomorrow. Thanks for the tips!
Did it work? Much better?
@@indorr Much better. It allows for a great angle of the trail and bike. I'll be posting a video showing the results this week. I could still use a better camera though lol.
Excellent tips, thanks
Dude you’re a comedy act! I love this style of fun informative videos!
Thanks man!
+respect im using my gopro hero5 and as you said i had a struggle with the chest footage and yes i thought about upside down but you thank you oh my god thank you too much bro for help people like that . Ride more bro thx from Turkey 🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️

Good tips! Just back from my first chest mount shoot and have nothing but knees … hopefully tomorrow will be better!
We have all been there man! Good luck tomorrow
The upside down gopro is super useful. Thanks!
glad it helped!
@@ronnoco yeah! the first ride with my gopro was all about my frame and my knees. Thanks!
Excellent advice! Thanks.
Thanks for the info very straightforward and help me a lot
Perfect thought about mounting it upside down, gonna help alott.
Please check out my masters video about the GoPro chest mount on my channel for updated settings!
Great video, helped me a lot! Tips and cursing were on point. Best regards mate!
This vid was super helpful as I didn’t figure out how to use it at a good angle and I’m going biking today so yeah thanks
Enjoy mate!
Very cool, thank you.
Gutted I just got 30 mins of footage of my handlebars after the sickest descent down a mountain road in Turkey… wish id known the upside down trick before now! Great tips 🙌🏻
Thx for the info man been struggling with this one for quite a while
Thanks dude. Appreciate the tips. Sending love from Texas.
Single most helpful GoPro video I’ve ever found. Thanks.
I just did a load of filming with the camera in the upright position .....lol. Cheers now I know.
Thank you so much this might help me with my phone mount!
Thanks for the info....no time wasting
EDDY KAY glad I could help!
Thanks man. Super helpful. Upside down for the win!
Thanks for the help my footage is kinda bad lol I’ll try them on my next vid
Nice! Super concise info! Man, shitty footage: we've all been there! Thanks for posting! I actually made my own chest mount based on the chesty, I have a Garmin camera, but this was really useful! Keep at it!
This helped so much thanks
No worries 🙌🏻
Stoked! thanks
Thanks for the info! What mount/strap was used in this video?
great video dude, i just filmed my first gopro video with chesty, just exploring the angles and shit u know, this video helped me so much
Superb tips - will try tightening the chest straps and mounting Hero 5 upside down on tomorrow's road bike shoot :). Happy New Year.
ecopenny hope it works out for you! Be sure to let me know :)
Great advice 👌 will help me shoot my first video.
thanks, very informative👍
Thanks mate!!
This was really helpful! Cheers guys 🤜 📸 🤛
Exactly what I needed! Just hits a few trails all I seen was knees🤦♂️
Hi I’m trying to find the best angle for bmx? Any thoughts?
Fishbowl!
Cheers mate thanks for the tip with marking the sweet spots using a marker
Great video thanks man!
Thanks bro turning upside is going to be a way better angle, have a bad ass ride today and mostly recorded my knees lol
Hahaha dude I’ve done that way to many times. Out bombing runs and stoked to check out the footage only to find out that it’s all of my handlebars and top tube. 🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽
Thank You! ⭐
Thanks mate this help me a lot 😂 stay safe on the trails🤟🤟🤘
No dramas! I'll try my best 🤟🏻
yeah i got same problem with chest mount. good video :)
The upside down tip was exactly what I was looking for. Cheers mate!
Jaskaran Virdi glad I could help
absolutly thank you soo much I couldnt find this video at all
Nice! True, it is tricky knowing or previewing what the camera sees when mounted to a chest strap. Maybe the technicians will find a good way to solve this issue so there's less trial and error involved for the cyclist.
How could i make it more tighten so it dont shake
Dope video man! Big help
Thank you!
Love this vid - hilarious but useful :)
Will be testing this out tomorrow , i done a 60 miler and got footage of my feet 😂 , I reckon this video is a winner thanks
I came here after getting ridiculously shit footage from my chest mount. Going to try your tips now!
Great advice
How is the strap doing now? Did it get loose/lousy already? Or still snug?
Also, Ive been running my J hook pointed down. Would it work better if it was facing up? Or does it matter?
Ewart Built I usually have my J hook pointed down as well but I don’t think it is super crucial. I suggest trying the other way as well just to see the difference.
How to i get it to not pickup my heartbeat?
I have so much footage that could have been so much better if I had just hung my GoPro upside down.... DAMN! Thanks for the info brother.
So we dont have to attch the mic.? Is it good enough?❤
Informative and hilarious.
Great tips
When the GoPro is upside down does it not shoot from a upside down view
JFB Fishing I’m currently using the GoPro hero 7 and the camera flips back to normal when upside down. If you’ve got an older model it’s very easy to flip videos these days on your laptop and even your phone and the GoPro app
I have the 7 black and I rode the trail to test the chest mount and of course lots of low footage. Reason I’m here hehe. Thanks for the upside down tip. Doing it that way from now on
JFB ua-cam.com/video/2icL_JXfCYY/v-deo.html
Thank you sir
Fuck yes dude! Love the upside down tip! Exactly what I needed. Cheers!
Just got my GoPro & I ride fixed in Los Angeles my first shots were sh**+t before I saw this vid haha great info!
Glad to hear it!
Thanks..it helped
Glad to hear that
THANK YOU!!!
Mario Martinez no problem 🙌🏻
Thx for this movie
you solved my problem dude 🙏🏻😄
Perfect 👌🏽
Thanks Man. I got zero info from the aloof poser at JB HiFi. She was too busy posing with her tattoos and piercings to provide any answers.
Well done!
Hahaha no dramas
Wow, dude, the idea to turn the camera upside down is genius! Thanks! I wish I found it sooner...
Excellent vid especially for a smaller channel. Thought u would have more subs with such quality
whats the name from your glass?
Oakley wind jackets!
Haha great video bud 👌
Tomasz Michewicz thank you!
Was wondering how I could get footage of not my feet, thanks pal lol
What sunglasses r those
Oakley Wind Jackets
hello im from korea so i have poor Enflish where did you get sunglasses?
Oakley wind jackets
Im scared that im going to crash and break it as I have the 8 with the non replaceable lens and only a little lens protector
Look into GoPro Plus, it's a subscription service with benefits, including accident insurance
THE FUCKEN STRAIGHT LINE ON THE MOUNT! YES MAN!
Two things: 1- i like the generous amount of cursing in this video 2- what glasses are they? Theyre pretty sick
Ahahahah 😂 thanks mate! Love the feedback. I’m pretty sure they are Oakley windjackets. They are designed for snowboarding/skiing but work well for mountain biking also. I want a new lens but they aren’t cheap!
Wondered the same thanks!
Yo this was just what I needed after filming yesterday! Awesome tips and would definitely love to ride together someday. Hit me up if you're ever in Raleigh!
I've made an updated video on my channel please watch it!
Upside down you say. That’s so crazy it just might work 🤔🤣
Cheers, Last ride I was pumped to see the footage form my GoPro 9 and I’ve got 2hrs of my top tube and legs 😩😭
Can’t wait to flip the camera and see how it goes next time 👍🏼🍻
I’ve got a new video on how you should use the camera with the chest mount! Check my latest video!
🤣
What are the glasses you are wearing ???
They’re Oakley Windjackets - they’re actually for snowboarding but still work great 👍🏻
Wait so upside down only for mountain biking not kayaking and stuff right?
I guess it could work for kayaking ahaha
@@ronnoco damn lol gotta test it out when I pick up my new go pro 10! Never owned one before 😅
@@yintotheyang6433 you’ll have a fun time
Tnx for sharing ..your new subscriber here..
I appreciate a man that isn’t afraid to use F-bombs 🤘🤘🤘
