    As someone who likes to air dry their hair before blow drying it, I actually LOVE that you put your clients under to the hooded dryer before blow drying. Not many stylist do this but it's a great way to protect our natural hair and curls.

      This an old school thing. When I was a teenager in HS my stylist used to do that. I have low porosity hair and spent a lot of time under the hooded dryer whenever I went to the salon.

      I just said this to my husband this morning! He was utterly baffled at our baby's hair as he continued to pour cups and cups of water on it in the tub. Her hair did NOTHING with the water😂

    There's no trim schedule.. it just depends on how you take care of your hair. Someone who takes care of their hair may need less trims than someone who does not .

    Sometimes it’s low porosity; sometimes it’s product buildup; and sometimes it’s both. As a low porosity natural, I had to learn to shampoo twice and use an ACV rinse every wash to cleanse my hair because that is the only way it absorbs products.I also wash my hair every week because I can’t restyle and add more product to my low porosity hair; it won’t absorb it. I have also learned to put the deep conditioner in my hair and sit under a hooded dryer for 20-30 mins or wait up to an hour without heat with a cap on and a scarf over it. The deep conditioner absorbs into my hair and the moisture lasts until my next wash day. Another tip is to look through your deep conditioner ingredients and make sure it has no protein in it or no coconut oil or biotin; avoid the strengthening products if you want real moisture as a low porosity natural. It makes a huge difference!

    My hair used to absorb water really well until after chemotherapy. My hair came back in a different texture and has been extremely hard for me to manage since. I'm 14 years in remission and my hair has never been the same. I absolutely hate managing it. It doesn't absorb water and dries almost immensely when it hits the air. I'm seriously thinking about just cutting it all off.

    4 seasons in a year equals 4 trims a year or every season

    • @HeyitsBri_
      @HeyitsBri_ 8 місяців тому +8

      Depends on where you live and how it changes throughout the year. Here in the south we really only get 2 seasons, summer and fall. During the summer it is incredibly humid and hot and winters are dry and moderately cold, so the hair is treated differently in both seasons. I think 2 good trims a year with moderate dusting if necessary is fine because I don’t have to go through too many changes in care. Plus everyone is different
