  • Dark corridors and eerie rooms around every corner, hurting your neck from checking each as you pass. Frozen in time is a once grand hotel/resort that opened in the early 1990's but over the years the location became a lesser travel destination. Adding insult to injury, the hotel was hit by a hurricane that left damage too expensive for the hotel to repair, resulting in the closure in the late 2000's.
Since then the structure has been very eerily left behind and seemingly frozen, as if the maids just left. This was one of my all time favorite explores just because of the sheer size of the complex, as well as the lack of vandalism. Every corner shares a new surprise you may never know about until you turn its corners. Thanks for watching if you enjoy make sure to leave a thumbs up and subscribe for more exploring videos!!

Our band was hired there as the house band in 1971 and on the grand opening Memorial day 1971 we alternated sets with the Duke Ellington Orch. in the Scarlet night club what a treat that was. I was employed as a band member till 1986 met some great people and had some wonderful memories

Me and my family stopped here around 1980 when I was a kid. It was the most extravagant hotel around. We were looking for someplace to stay the night and convinced our father to and least see how much it cost to stay here. I remember me and my father went to the lobby desk and they told us it cost $250 a night (something like that, might have been more). It was summer time. Of course my father was not going to spend $250, he actually started laughing. We stayed at a motel further down the road for $30 a night.

Now I agree that $250 may be high for the Catskills depending on the time of the year it is. But part of that $250 may also have covered what is known as a resort fee. What resorts like Disney or Universal does is charges you a fee that allows you to have access to the food and beverages on there resorts or use the things like the spas without having to pay an additional fee. What that means is that all the charges for the food and spa and other entertainment on the hotel grounds is paid for by you on your bill and that you do not have to pay for them individually and possibly be charged different fees for each thing. You are charges 1 fee for all services and pay for them on your one room bill at the end of your stay.

I used to be a cocktail waitress here! I saw some “this looks like the shining” comments, a lot of guests felt the same way. It also would remind people of the movie Dirty Dancing. So wild to see the state of it now, my friends and I have wanted to go inside for years.

Sorry I’m adding as I watch. The bar you liked with the stained glass cabinets was an Off Track Betting bar. The resort had several dining rooms actually. The one you were in with a tent was a banquet hall, the bar was Monk’s Lounge (the very dark bar with two vintage cash registers), and there was a dining room right off the Monk’s Lounge that you walked through to get up towards the banquet hall (the large dining room with the tent). This is an awesome video. Thanks for the memories. ☺️

You would think the hotel would have at leased tried to sell the stuff they could and recoup something. The weights in the gym, the piano, furniture etc. It's like they just up and walked out.

I used to go there with friends on Father’s Day weekend they would always have an awesome car show. The place was Mafia ran and owned and at the car show there was a huge presence of mob affiliated people, it was awesome being around these guys and getting to know them a little bit. A ton of fun and just like everything else in this area it’s a distant memory as everything
    Is gone. Awesome

This place has insulation on the floors because they are fixing the place and store items. In 2012 they rented a dumpster to rip old carpets in the basement. The rooms are in very good shape. The abbey dining room is cool. The floors are needed to be pressure washed and new pieces of Sheetrock. Everything is stacked up for repair. The salon is good barbershop chairs. The moulding is good shape.

The somewhat kitschy "castle" theme and its origin in the late 1980s(?) made me think this was built by someone who enjoyed playing Dungeons & Dragons. Now it seems like a suitable location for a D&D adventure. I almost expected you to encounter a gelatinous cube in one of those hallways, or to hear a voice requesting you to make a saving throw with a d20. ;-)

That was crazy how some of those rooms looked just like normal while other parts of the hotel was messed up. You can't necessarily say they just left and never came back with everything stacked like the mattresses, chairs, etc. They must have had some notice, but it looks like it would have been a great place to stay.

I stayed here on 2001 whilst on holidayin NYC from the UK. We came here to see Collin Raye play a show. Even then the place gave us 'Psycho' vibes and we were glad to leave! The show itself was great - although the ceiling above our table dripped brown liquid the whole time -🤣🤢 The place gave us the creeps so much that ever since, anywhere creepy is referred to as "It's a bit Friar Tuck"!!

Really strange to see those 2 luxury buses sitting there, they appear to be mid 2000s era Setras and even with 500k miles would be worth 60-90K today. Made by Daimler in Germany, who also makes Mercedes thats why you see the Mercedes symbol on the front.

Those spider webs over the phone was a great shot! You’re getting better and better with each project, my friend. It won’t be long and you’ll be in the same line as Bros of Decay and Proper People. A little more money invested in equipment and a bit more polish and you’ll be there!
Why would they leave water in that pool?? That’s dangerous as hell! Someone could be stupid and fall in and that could end in disaster.
Why did they leave those expensive “human cookers” (aka tanning beds) sitting there? Weird, yes?
From the size of the salon and the number of chairs, the place must’ve been very successful at one point.
Good heavens, the ceiling was so low in that dance hall or whatever it was, I would feel like I was buried alive! No thank you!! All that gym equipment left in the place!
The gorgeous piano, all those room keys! Ok, so the tent in that enormous room- what the hell? A squatter?
Oh wow, the webs on the dash of the silver car are awesome!! They’ve been busy for quite some time. Happy little creepies!
What the hell did you close that room for?? Those poor animals who took it over won’t be able to get back in now. That was a rotten thing to do!
    This place was very cool.
Did you do any research on the place to find out why it closed and left everything? It’s just so tantalising, there had to be a huge disaster of some sort.

They kept finding pallets and pallets of those crazy lime hemp coconut drinks all over the place. lol.
