A lot of hunger is just habit e.g we usually eat lunch at 11 so our body is like hey we normally eat now. After two days you honestly don't even really experience hunger however the body starts to get tired easily. Have you ever experimented with fasting? Probably impossible with endurance sports though I follow Erik the Electrik and he races fasted and eats a huge meal afterwards.

That's the great thing about fasting. It puts you in a state of ketosis wherein the body prioritizes fat burn over muscle. Youll still always lose a tiny bit (hence why body builders dont do it) but its still very effective for targeting fat over muscle
No real muscle loss, if your worried i'd hit the weights but at around 85% since you won't have as much energy. When you hit the weights it tells the body that it needs to preserve it's muscle and it's strength and it will rip harder from the body fat stores. Any "muscle shrinkeage" in the short term is due to glycogen and it comes back when you get carbs in you.

Iirc, the actual muscle fibres that you grow when building muscle are still 'there' albeit in a depleted state so it is literally easier to build 'back' the muscles than to build them initially.

Hey Pete! Loved your video. The longest I’ve fasted so far is for 3 days. I’ve been thinking of trying a 7 day water fast and your video was very helpful. I was wondering if you gained some of the weight back after a couple of days or weeks. Also how many days did you take to slowly come back to your regular eating schedule? Or did you do it immediately?
Hi there, I think I answered all of these questions in this video, my 3 week later update. I hope that helps. 😊 ua-cam.com/video/cHAvmZBWDao/v-deo.html
Thank you for ypur inspired result Last week i tried 7 day fasting with running 100 km. The result was be like shocked i didn't lose muscle at all but body fat gone like 5 % and very sharp mind focus.
I stopped eating and smoking 8 days ago. Did not notice any bad side effects or withdrawals, going for 2 weeks and then we will see. It's actually really easy.
I’m on day 1. Of course New Years is coming up and I think my girl wants to go on a date this weekend so we’ll see how that goes but imma stick it out day by day till I get the results I want.
It should be stressed, overstressed even to take enough days to refeed. You shutdown much of your digestive functions, the last thing you want is to shock your system that you have severe complications and not see the next day. The consensus seems to eat or drink bone broth to get your body ready for food, everyones body varies but a 7 day fast is a 2-4 day refeed depending on the person. If you frequently do long fast then obviously your body will be more adapted to eating sooner than later. As for the working out comprehend going in you will not build any muscle youre simply negating atrophy. Once you start to eat again intermittent fasting 16/8, OMAD or OMEOD and hard workouts will easily build the muscle you want. Good look to all, enjoy your new you.

Hi man, I’m starting this today but I was just wondering when it comes to the meal at the end of the time, does it have to be a smoothie n bone broth? Could you recommend anything for someone who isn’t keen on fruits 🤣🤣 thanks 🙏🏻
Hey, bud, I am not an expert but I would assume anything that is easily digestible is probably best. However, I have seen people break 7-day fasts with burgers and chips so I don't know how serious it really is? I would say just listen to your body at the end of the fast I just couldn't wait to have a smoothie. How are you getting on you must be reaching ketosis by now?
You could try scrambled eggs to break the fast, then an hour or two later, you can eat more of a meal, such as steak. If high insulin is a problem for you, the last thing you want to break a fast with is fruit/juice/smoothie. You’ve just lowered your insulin through fasting, you’re super sensitive, and you eat/drink something that’s known for spiking insulin… not a good idea.
Haha alcohol fasts, reminds me of my younger self. When I was in uni I would barely eat before nights out so I would get drunk quickly and wouldn't have to spend much money. 😂
This is my first time ever fasting and this video helped inspire me to do so! But I’m currently entering day 4 of 7, I haven’t really felt like complete crap though, I mean my stomach hurts occasionally but I just drink water to get it to stop and I feel like I have no energy but other than that I’ve felt fine this whole time, is that normal?
I would say so, my energy felt like I was on a rollercoaster I would be full of beans one minute and the next minute I would need a lie down. By day four the hunger was a lot more manageable for me and I believe thats because you should now be entering ketosis. 😊
@@PeteOnPurpose alright awesome thank you! I appreciate it! That’s also how I’ve been though it is definitely a roller coaster that is for sure. I appreciate the response!
I am 25 hrs into a 7 day Fast. I know this sounds mad but I am doing hiit every day. It's not that crazy though as I have a sit down job so spend a long of time sitting. I read that black coffee with no sugar doesn't break the fast and you still go into autophagy and ketosis. I am not doing diet coke but I also read that a diet coke doesn't break fast either???? I think the sucralose would surely spike insulin levels though? Anyways I started at 18 stone 7 pounds (6"2 tall some good muscle size but also about 25% body fat. I have to do it to make weight for a procedure so I know I have to finish the fast.

I’m interested in the fast to see if I have enough self control to restrict eating for a little bit but I was wondering if me working out like weight training, calisthenics or cardio would be bad to do during a 3 day (or longer) fast?
I don’t know if this is a stupid question BUT… do you brush your teeth with toothpaste on a fast? Is it better to avoid toothpaste as you’re likely to swallow a bit?
Haha, I had the same question myself, I still brushed my teeth but some extreme people will not however I think having bad breath for seven days a whole challenge in itself. 😅
Hi, I have a question. In my case, when I was in fasting for more than 2 days I face constipation in third day. But you know if you eat nothing then there will be no waste you'll gonna dump in toilet accept pee. And that's the reason why I kinda get scared for fasting more than 3 days. But my goal is around 2 weeks or so. Is there will be any problems that you'll not gonna poop for more than 2 weeks? I mean is there any bad consequences for not pooping for 2 weeks or so and is there any chance if I break my fasting after 2 weeks and face the constipation again in day 15th? And sorry for my bad English. English is my 3rd language by the way 😅

Thank You 😊
Hii! I loved your video, im also starting a 7 day water fast !! It had a lot of benefits (and muscle loss happens but you can always regain muscle)
Thank you so much, muscle loss really isn’t anything to worry about as soon as you start eating and working out it will come straight back. Good luck and enjoy the journey 😀
You only depleted glycogen
Iirc, the actual muscle fibres that you grow when building muscle are still 'there' albeit in a depleted state so it is literally easier to build 'back' the muscles than to build them initially.
Well done!! I am 10 hours in to my 5 day water fast. 152 pounds and 5’7 to start off with. I will update 😃😃
Amazing, good luck! 😊

Great video bud! Very detailed and you feeling cold all the time immediately brought me back and made me remember when I did a bodybuilding competition. The last month of cutting I remember being cold constantly ha ha.
Cheers mate, yes it was an interesting experience. I reckon preparing for a bodybuilding show would be even harder
Amazing video man, I'm on my way to do it now. Today is the first day and I'll share my results with you, although it's only for 72 hours 😅

Very enjoyable video, helping me keep motivated. I'm on day 5 out of 5, just hours away from my goal. Extremely pleased with managing to go through an entire work week with decent energy. Working with concrete, so it's physical.
Wow 5 days working with concrete is way more impressive than my 7 laying around the house
@@PeteOnPurpose Cheers, was a cool experience I've always been a bit curious on. Was easier than I thought, but it sure was a bit dull, espcially on the evenings. All you want to is the time to go by and watch some series and sleep. Done now and enjoying some broth, a carrot and a pretzel :D
Mate you smashed it, well deserved pretzel
This is a really good authentic video.. I’m on day 4 and im super excited for you watching this… tht laugher when you chewed food is the cutest!

I followed the water fasting regime for 13 days and I thank God I did not get tired I had such terrible energy that I could not sleep

Congratulations on completing your fast and on your amazing results! I have a question: did you notice any hair loss after the fast? I've heard that this could be an issue. I have done several 5-day water fasts, and I've never experienced any hair loss but now I would like to do a longer one (2 or 3 weeks, not for weight loss but for spiritual reasons) and hair loss is any concern. Thanks!
Hi Lola, i did not experience any hair loss and I have never heard that before? My fast was also mostly for spiritual reasons, good luck. 😀
I'm on my 3rd day out of 7. This is my first real fast. I did a 4 day fast a few years ago but I cheated a bit. I feel quite good right now. I do it for weight loss and to heal my gut.

Give update bro, how's it going ? How do you feel ?
Update
I am 3 days in finding it very difficult, but I am obsessed with food so I knew it wouldn't be easy. Wish me luck 🤞
Day 3/4 were the toughest days for me its when your body is switching over to ketosis so it can be quite a tough transition, just take it easy once you're in ketosis you don't feel hunger anymore.
@@PeteOnPurpose to be fair I feel better than I thought I would, just sleep is a slight issue and my senses have increased dramatically. I feel food is advertised too much lol
@@daftjedi5328 Yes I really struggled to sleep the first few nights too and I think it was because my senses were so heightened everything was waking me up. However, I also felt not too tired and that my sleep was really deep. Yes you definitely notice food everywhere which is why i cleared out my fridge. 😂
Failed today lol, I started getting really dizzy. But probably could of made it just got a bit weird. Lost weight tho 😉 4 days 15 hours

We need to do a live stream collab sometime, Pete! Another great video, my friend. You're crushing it!
Cheers matey, I don't think I'm interesting enough for a live stream and whos going to edit out all my 'ums' 'aaass' and 5 minute long pauses while I think of something funny to say? 😂
@@PeteOnPurpose that's the beauty of it. There is no editing! I think you're plenty interesting enough. And there will be no pauses because we will be on together. Much easier than hosting your first stream alone because you have someone to keep the ball rolling at all times. You should really consider it, my friend. Especially with your audience, I believe a livestream of you and I discussing our differing perspectives on training would be beneficial to both of us!
Thank -you this is exactly the information I was looking for!

😂
bro what app are u using? And btw I'm a new subscriber 👍
Cheers mate appreciate it, the app is called LIFE.
It would have been an epic thumbnail. I had a beer after 7 days of fasting.
Haha, would have been interesting to see how smashed I would have been after 7 days only water. 😂
U gonna be a big youtuber one day
Cheers mate, appreciate the kind words.
Did you workout everyday throughout your fast? When I fast during my third/fourth day I tend to get very week. Do you have any tips if so?
I took it pretty easy like I say in the video I used this week as a deload week so active recovery.
Thinking of doing a 7 day fast soon. Do you think it’s ok to eat fruit along with nothing but water? Would that effect the overall fast too much?
You can eat fruit but you will no longer be water fasting, so could negate the positive effects through autophagy.
Finna do this brotha , thank you
Good luck 😀
45 hours in. Feeling okay, but just bored! I’m finding that the hardest. Hunger comes in waves, whenever it happens I smash a pint of water and feel much better. I’ve attempted it many times but never managed to get to 7 days 😢

I've done this a couple of times with alcohol, only on weekends 😉😂😂
Haha alcohol fasts, reminds me of my younger self. When I was in uni I would barely eat before nights out so I would get drunk quickly and wouldn't have to spend much money. 😂
@@PeteOnPurpose yes very true 😂😂

Have you used any multivitamin? I want to start fasting so making sure do we need anything ?
5:10 is what i drank bud
I fast 18 - 20 hour two days a week 👌🏼
That’s impressive 😀
This is my first time ever fasting and this video helped inspire me to do so! But I’m currently entering day 4 of 7, I haven’t really felt like complete crap though, I mean my stomach hurts occasionally but I just drink water to get it to stop and I feel like I have no energy but other than that I’ve felt fine this whole time, is that normal?
Also, I don’t think I’ve had any moments of really clear thinking yet
I would say so, my energy felt like I was on a rollercoaster I would be full of beans one minute and the next minute I would need a lie down. By day four the hunger was a lot more manageable for me and I believe thats because you should now be entering ketosis. 😊
@@PeteOnPurpose alright awesome thank you! I appreciate it! That’s also how I’ve been though it is definitely a roller coaster that is for sure. I appreciate the response!
Yes mate its a wild ride, enjoy the adventure. 😊

I'm actually on my second day and I fell really good. I added a little salt to my water and I feel more energized
Starting a 3 day fast today! But I’m a teenager who also works out every week. I’m interested in the fast to see if I have enough self control to restrict eating for a little bit but I was wondering if me working out like weight training, calisthenics or cardio would be bad to do during a 3 day (or longer) fast?
Fasted is not recommended if you are a teenager
I don’t know if this is a stupid question BUT… do you brush your teeth with toothpaste on a fast? Is it better to avoid toothpaste as you’re likely to swallow a bit?

Hi, I have a question. In my case, when I was in fasting for more than 2 days I face constipation in third day. But you know if you eat nothing then there will be no waste you'll gonna dump in toilet accept pee. And that's the reason why I kinda get scared for fasting more than 3 days. But my goal is around 2 weeks or so. Is there will be any problems that you'll not gonna poop for more than 2 weeks? And sorry for my bad English. English is my 3rd language by the way 😅
