I hate this thermostat
ME TOO
it's literally the WORST
Same i cant keep my house warm
Me too!!!
Horrible
There's a place in hell for this thermostat.
Don't all these comments and questions tell you guys something?! Need a complete product redo!!!
finally after 2 years you taught me how to use this not so easy to understand program...but now it is thank you!
this thermostat is TERRIBLE. why wouldn't it have a simple option to run the A/C and have a countdown timer?
Thank you! I agree!
Actually there is place for he'll in thus thermostat. Totally agree with you.
Hi J, to turn the heat on please make sure that the system switch is set to heat and set a temperature above the set point, once 'Heat On' is steady on the screen the system should start running. The temperature displayed on the screen is the current inside temperature, if you press once the up or down button you will see the set temperature for about 5 seconds and then it will show the room temperature again. To change the set point, press more than once the up/down button until you see the desired temperature. -Maria
Oh my that’s a lot.
That worked! Winter just arrived, and now I can be warm in the morning and save money at night. Thank you so much.🎉
If you want to maintain a chosen temperature ALL the time, you can override the scheduling feature by using the HOLD button. (p. 16 of my user manual)
how?
How?
That’s a temporary hold
It will remove the hold and go back to annoying schedules
Tried that and it’s just temporary
So ridiculous!
Why isnt recalled? Its obviously a problem. People shouldn't have this much trouble Turning their ac off and on
The temperature keeps increasing by itself and I can't set the temperature to what I want currently

@@honeywellhome my hold button is set to 72 but it is 80 degrees in the house
I’ve never used the programming feature in a thermostat. All I see is how people hate it. I literally installed this new one going from a very old model. During the summertime daytime I let it run around 72-73 then at night when the sun sets I adjust it down to 70-71 so by that time the whole house is cooled off. It’s a habit of mine I guess but eventually I will get the echobee smart thermostat.
Hi DY, thanks for reaching out to us. The Honeywell Home RTH2300 Thermostat is designed to regulate your preferred temperature by cycling as required. If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out to us at 1-800-633-3991 or through Twitter or Facebook under Honeywell Home. -Jerry
I set my schedule and now my thermostat is on wake at 11pm when I've scheduled it to go to sleep at 10pm
The display on mine went dead, I had to replace the two AAA batteries which I thought was weird. I know it needs batteries for the memory, but for the display to function?
Hi Marc-André, thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about this. Press and hold both up and down buttons at the same time for about 5 seconds until the screen changes. Then press and release both up and down buttons at the same time until you see number 14 at the center of the screen, use the up button to change the number on the right to 1 and press Run to save and exit. -Maria
Did you read what you wrote?! Is it not unbelievably ridiculous?!
What if you don’t want to set it on a schedule. Anyway to bypass that?
Thank you for reaching out, our thermostats can be set to manual operation or can also keep a permanent setpoint. Adjusting the hold or bypassing the schedule temporary or permanently is achieved different depending on the model of the thermostat.
If you require further assistance on how to set it on your model number please contact us through a private message at Facebook, Instagram or X (formerly twitter) to Honeywell Home. -Cesar

I'll be calling the support number soon. I recently bought a house with this thermostat and realized it's been running while "off"...I want something tha if it's off its off and if i turn it on, its on...Can something else be installed in place of this that is better?

When you set it to go to sleep.. does that mean that you are turning off the heat?
Hi, thanks for the question. When you set the sleep period the unit will follow the temperature you set, it won't change the mode to off. -Joey
Hi Samson, we'd be happy to help! Could you provide us with the complete model number of the thermostat? -Jerry
I set mine to 70, heater runs but shuts off when room temp reaches exactly 70. This makes it run on and off too much. Shouldn't this allow for temps to got to 72-73 and then shut off ?
Hi kirk58, if you’re still experiencing this, we would be more than happy to assist you. Please feel free to reach out to us on Facebook/Twitter with a private message for support. -Charlie
if you set it to 70, why would you think it would run to 72-73???? you set it to stop at exactly 70
i set up my schedule bt once i’m on the menu after setting it up it says 80* then i use the arrow to move it up and it says 70? that means the temperature it’s at 70 or 80?
My house is 63 its been cold for days i just set the schedule using this video how can i make the heat stay up
Hi M Jackson, the thermostat just turns the heat on and off and does not control how warm or cool the air is coming from the system. If the thermostat is wired correctly and programmed for the correct system type you may want to get your system serviced by an Hvac technician. -Joey
Hate isn’t a strong enough word
I had bypassed the set schedule - now my personal schedule has changed and I need to do a weekly program. How do I return to having the set schedule program again?
Living on “Temporary” til your answer…
Hi jimjimmyjames59, thank you for reaching out to us. To resume your schedule you just have to press the 'Run' button, this will cancel any holds and will continue to use the schedule. To adjust your schedule, please press the 'Set' button 3 times until 'Set Schedule' appears on the screen. The start time of the Wake period of the weekdays (Mon-Fri) will flash, press the Up or Down button to set the time and then press the Set button. The temperature setting for that period will flash, to program the temperature settings for the cooling mode, place the System switch in Cool. To program the temperature settings for the heating mode, place the switch in Heat. Press the Up or Down button to set the temperature and then press the Set button. The start time of the next period will flash. Repeat steps for each of the remaining periods. Once all changes are made, press the Run button to save them and exit. -Maria

Hello Deborah! How can we help you? -Rosie

Good morning Sunny, thank you for contacting us. We recommend you to check the energy between the R and W wires with a volt-meter, the range for the thermostat and system to work fine are between 20 to 30 AC volts. In the case you have less than 20 or more than 30 it will mean the system is struggling to give the correct amount of energy to work. If the previous suggestion won't work, please let us know at 1-800-633-3991 or send us a message on Facebook or Twitter so we can help you get everything set up. Thanks! -Lily.

I just moved into a new house with this same thing as well, did u replace yours with something specific ?
How to clear the set schedule? I just want to manually set the temp.

Hello
Honeywell, never again design a thermostat which requires reading the owner's manual to operate. Most people using this thermostat did not purchase and install this thermostat themselves, it was already preinstalled in their home or building. I will never buy a honeywell product in my life because of how poorly designed this thermostat is from a user standpoint. I can only assume the rest of your products were poorly designed too.
