Thanks so much for this two year old video. I have a friend who doesn’t know how to send this, I couldn’t figure it out either, and the air conditioning always wanted to stay on, even though I would set the temperature higher and press the hold button. I guess you don’t have to hold the hold button down for long, like I was doing, you just press it once.

I like the hold override because you set it to whatever you want and it stays there and will only kick on when it goes below your temperature
I moved into a rental and they had it set at 65 in Arizona which was causing my bill to be double! This video saved my wallet, thank you so much. Was able to remove the hold function and set it to a normal temperature.

It still goes back to the whacky setting at whatever day and time. It's maddening.
It'll steadily warming up while I sleep and getting all nice and frosty...while I'm at work!! 😭

I have a PRO 1 T-701 the worst Thermostat on market. Many Companies don't have Manuel's with their items. Also, very unreliable workers. You have to ask them to check all your units. These clowns just install, and walk away with an outrageous price, which was only store bought priced $43.00?

We’re expecting a predicted low of -21 tonight (wind chill…-40) and -22 tomorrow night.

John, you’re saving my life tonight with this video…the exact information that I needed confirmed…the manual over-ride to turn on additional electric baseboard heat (now that the inside temp is heading toward 56 degrees) despite my 2021 Mitsubisi high heat pump cranking at 75 degrees (usually set at 65 max).
I haven’t used the electric baseboard heat in two years, so I was going by memory to over-ride the Honeywell to start the heat via Temporary.
I had copies of this model’s user manual on my laptop (now on the disabled list) and downloaded to my iPhone ( Safari was preventing the file from opening)…Murphy’s
Law!
I have the paper copy filed away, but I needed the info ASAP. Thought of UA-cam…one of man’s best IT developments!
John, you came to the rescue….THANKS! I did remember the Hold vs Run button functions…but the Leave message was displaying at the bottom of the window. I must have pushed both buttons thinking I was clearing the pre-set.
Thanks to you, I’m back on track…the thermostat is set at 72 ….the baseboards are putting out heat and it’s now a comfortable 65 degrees!
I think I detected a bit of a Maine accent. I’m “from away”, so I’m attuned to certain words.

Do you need to Lubricate the back pins of the Thermostat? When I replaced the batteries on my Honeywell thermostat I noticed a grease honey color Lubrication on the pins, what is that? Can you provide the exact name/link description?
Hi. Under fan my husband sets it in the middle between Fan and Auto. What does that do? Can you explain? If I put it on this we get heat but it seemed to run evey 7 minutes. Not sure if that is normal.

Thank you, I really enjoyed your video, it was very informative. My husband installed this thermostat. We live in the Chicago area, we still have our heat on. I set the temperature to HOLD, the heat would kick on then it seemed as though the thermostat started to malfunction, I set the temperature to 77, the room temperature would drop to 70 a 73 before the heat would come on. Now the heat won’t kick on at all.
After following your directions I can't get out of the temporary function after selecting the hold button

Everytime I set the thermostat to a certain temperature it changes to a whole other temperature, how can I stop it from doing that, I just want it to be the temperature I change it too
So soon as I hit anything it fades to green where you can’t see anything on the screen so you are guessing what you are hitting. Then it goes to room temperature and gets dark where you can see it again. I want to put the heat on hold at 65 but can’t see anything! HELP
How long does it take to turn back on when its on auto?
Hi Thanks for the vid - so, if i override in "Cool" mode. It is set to 72. It will stay that way. BUT, you siad if i turn it to "off" or " Heat" the
cool mode will no longer have that override set to 72, correct? Switching to Off, or Cool or Heat, it reset the override to null?

I have a set temperature in hold for 74 the unit is in and running but it’s not cooling down, the temperature won’t drop past 81 in the house, what could it be?
How can I change the settings from 24 to 12 hrs. I´m retired and spend most of my time at home but like it cooler at bedtime. I don´t want a weekly schedule. We live in FL our home is an oven. Please help. Thank you

Please help, when my heat comes on ut also blows out cold air!!!! I have it set to a schedule I never put it on AC. Didn't even know that was an option during the hot summer. 😳 right now the temp outside is 30°. I'm in bed under the blankets trying to stay warm. Just had surgery Tuesday, need to be warm. How fo I get heat without the fan. My settings are on HEAT ,72 AND AUTO

This thermostat really sucks. The hold button is not overriding the program. I wake up to freezing temps and the Ac is still running
So I have my set to run 8 hour and then turn off as scheduled but on auto during that time it shut off and on every 15 or 18 min and then it turn back on again is that normal I don't want my system to get ruin.
I was able to cancel all the scheduled times but then the word “hold” is on the screen and the heat won’t come on? What am I doing wrong?
So when it’s set to hold will it still turn off once your house has reached the temperature you set? Or will it continue to run forever? I’d like to set a temperature and have it stay the same at all times until it reaches my desired/set room temperature then it should turn off until the room gets warmer the temperature set and Back back on. That’s what I want I don’t really want a schedule just want it to turn on when the temp in the house is warm and then turn off once the house has reached set temp.

Yes HOLD will only hold the desired setpoint once it is reached by your HVAC system then it will shutdown until there is a call for heat or cooling once again. It is NOT a permanent on function.

So I did I put it in heat mode and did the manual over ride and pressed hold to keep it at that but there is no heat. The temp actually dropped. What should be my next steps after this ?
Update so it turns out my taco valve Was receiving power but the gate the let the water go through the unit. Was closed. So once the taco valve was replaced we were good to go
Is the heat/cool switch only able to be changed manually?

Hi. How do i unset dates and times? I want system to auto on at 70 degrees every day all day.
When I hit hold it showz "wake" on the thermostat
My furnace does not come on when I raise the temperature above the current temperature when I use the temporary or hold functions. I have the switch on the bottom to heat and fan is on auto. My heat is gas baseboard hot water. Is there something else I need to do?
What if the temporary/hold doesn’t make heat start? It does nothing.

I’ve watched all three videos. My problem is that I am having trouble returning to default settings. I set function 40 to 1. I was thinking this should make all settings the same as p. 12 pre-sets but it won’t change from what I had in before. Do you know what I’m doing wrong? Help!!! Thank you!

Room thermo reads 80 degrees. I changed to 72 degrees. Room temp does not
. change. I do not want air conditioning running constantly. That means I must set higher temp than 72 and hold
so air runs occasionally when 90 degrees outside and 80 inside, correct?
So I turned it off waited a minute the hold I original had it on didn’t disappear - do I hv to hit Run? It went back to 63 in here - I turned off turned on then arrowed it up to 68 hit hold - it returned to 63 and didn’t kick in ? Or do I override previous setting by hitting Run ? First instead of turning off on switch on bottom?
Confusing because I just want to change my temperature as I please. I live in Texas and my unit cuts off at night because this process is not simple.

When I go to set my temp it changes and then goes right back to the room temperature. Is that normal? It’s not clicking on.

Ok so im leaving my home for several months for work. It is winter where I live and I don't want to be paying and astronomical bill while I'm away but obviously I don't want my pipes to freeze. So how do I make it to where I can set it for 45 degrees to keep my pipes from freezing and not have it revert back until I change it when I get back home
You can just dial up/down and then hit HOLD. Or to properly do it for long term program it for everyday of the week. Then double check it so it does what you want over the next week. Before you go pull fresh batteries in.
