@Smart Home Solver, If you have Smart Things, there is an App that allows you to do Routines using your voice, you should be able to link the Nest Hub with this
I have a problem with my google home mini and it won’t respond the to ok or hey google. None of the features work like connecting or the mute button. I tried the reset button but it only shows a green light when I press and hold the lights. Do you know what to do about this?
I just got one. Now that I have one I want to get two more, one for the kitchen and one for the bedroom. I love that the cameras can be used as a security system.
Smart Home Solver is one of the best content creators for smart home tech. I actually created my own channel Wright Near Home for more videos on smart home technology.
Hey, very helpful video! Does the face-recognised personalised routines work yet? Curious because I'm trying to decide between the Pixel tablet vs the Hub Max.
Great video, love the honest, unbiased feedback! Where does something like this fit into your smart home setup? Did you replace your Echo Dot in your kitchen with the Nest Hub Max or do you have both of them in your kitchen?
Thanks! Haha I actually just moved my Echo Dot to the other side of the kitchen to replace the Amazon Fire 8 in the show mode dock that was there. We still use both Google Assistant and Alexa so that's why I kept both.
Great device, cool to have the addition of the nest cam, the face recognition and the gestures, but I don’t like that Google Assistant just gives very short spoken responses when you ask for WEB information and when I tell her to read more it refuses, and for people with visual disabilities like me is very deficient, tryed it with my android Huawei tablet and with my Sonos Roam speaker but with absolutely no luck. . Is it a way to sort it out?
It sounds better, the bass is more powerful and overall the sound profile just seems more full to me. A video comparison of the sound probably won't do it justice honestly.
Does Nest Hub Max have on board assistant actions like the new nest mini / Pixel ? If not do you know if a firmware update could enable it for the max.
So, I set up my Google Hub Max with face match but nothing happens when I am close to it. Can you show what is supposed to happen when you are within range?
Thanks for explaining the video message thing, I thought the same as you, that I could leave video messages to my young kids or non-techie husband. Unfortunately, they don't have Duo...obviously kids won't have Duo if they are too young for a phone, unless you know something I don't.
Is it possible to get the hub to read out the cards and text notifications that come on screen. As I don't have great far vision. And have to get up and go closer to read it.
What tv or what device do you use to control it from hub? I currently have a smart plug for my tv but to control volume and channel would be super rad!!
With regards to the broadcast feature is there a way to target a specific speaker so I don’t broadcast to the entire house but rather just maybe the basement speaker.
I have several Nest devices in my home and Google devices. In your video, you mentioned that Google is doing away some of the features of Nest accounts? I haven't noticed any changed or discontinuation of any Nest Services. Can you elaborate on some of the things that have been changed? Thanks!
Nest cam and hardware is good but after nest been bought by google the software including nest app have a numbers of issues, not recording to the cloud, connection problems, Wifi drops etc.
Gracias., Please what we need for security and homeowners and disable want to be safe all cameras and insures for the house with minimum payment please., Hope you understand Gracias God Bless

Ok thank you for replying back so as long as I dont want timeline I can check in on my living room when am a way just not time line rite ..and on my way to buy Samsung smartthings and some ge smart light bulds am jumping on the smartphone band wagon lol just about to start I already own Google home speaker
Hey there! idk if anyone else have these problem but i just got a bunch of Google Home/Nest mini to place around my house so me and my family could use it. The problem is that idk why they can't recognize the devices to use the voice match, i invited them to be part of my home but when they select the device it's appear as no availiable so can't use their own spotify account and stuff.
Hi fantastic video again what I don’t like about nest I do have the nest hello video doorbell is the notification in the US you get the parcel notification in the UK we don’t I am not happy about that and the monthly prescription price is the same in the US

why isn't the google assistant ambient display customizable? This turns the whole "smart display" into a really dumb one. I want to see the weather, big digital clock, calendar, lists in card/widget view...
"less expensive nest aware"... You forgot to add only if you have more than 4 devices.... Otherwise having 24/7 5 days recording for $5+$3+ etc is a better deal.
OMG I have enough screens in my apartment. Why cant they just make them with closable screens or better yet, no screen at all. I feel like I'm living in a Television store. I cant wait for projectors to replace computer screens.
This is the cheapest smart home option.... A true offline system would cost 10k$+ and is not voice controlled... Privacy issues aside.. This is the cheapest option. For security and infotainment and device control.. Google nest adds the most value per dollar.
I can see how you would view that could be a form of sponsorship. I buy a decent amount of smart home devices and companies send them to me as well. I honestly view them the same because the devices I agree to have companies send me are one's that I would buy myself. I am not afraid of saying negative things about products that companies send to me. I've had companies not pleased with what I said and that's okay. There are other UA-camrs in the smart home space who get paid for reviewing products and to me there's a big difference from what I'm doing.
Your morning routine where it shows your commute is fairly dumb. I wake up at 6 and leave the home at 8, so it sez the traffic is clear ... At 8 it's a different story - so I don't really see the point of this.
I still find reviews a bit biased when you only talk about what the device can do and don't delve into what the device can't do. For example: Watching UA-cam is a pretty woeful experience if you don't know the exact video you're looking for. Also, don't expect to be able to watch Netflix. Also, there's no Web browser. Honestly, for most people, you would get better value for money buying a tablet than a Google assistant device with a screen which is just a device for Google to serve you with more ads!

For your smartcam, it used to work to say 'show ' somehow this got broken.
Instead say ' hey google' 'stream to
Like 'stream frontdoorcam to max hub'
or show on
In case you get UA-cam video lol
Very well explained thank you
i wonder if you will ever be able to integrate ring cams on this device.....
