Very helpful. Thanks for sharing your observation. I maximized my spring tension, and lubricated the caliper swivel joint, not realizing my cable was the issue all along.
Thanks for the kind words. Also be advised that bike servicing costs in the West have doubled up after the covid. So please consider subscribing. Have a nice day!
Thanks everyone for commenting and if you need help, just ask questions.
is there any way to fix the cable tho without getting a new one
The inner cables are very inexpensive. Also you can trimm the cable if you got some slack if that is what you mean. It usually bursts at the end and you need a new one.
If you got any questions, just ask please.
This helped me understand how brakes work which allowed me to fix my son's bike. Thank you
Yeah you will be running into these for many years. They are to be found on the lower end bikes. Thanks for the comment!
Useful bit of info.
Thanks for the feedback.
I tightened the from arms and now they won't retract after apply the brake. I have bathe the brake arm with oil hoping it will loosen but it won't budge. im afraid to hit it with a hammer to get them out. any suggestions?
You tighten it too tight.
@@IvansBikesBmwsI did, dont know how to get them loose now.
@lalolead That's why I never tighten them too right. Try counter clockwise.
@@IvansBikesBmws after bathing it in oil, I noticed the metal stick that retracts the brakes bent due to the extra force used to tight it. I just unhinged that metal piece bend it outward placed it back on the brake arm and now they are working fine.
I'll give it a shot, love your accent though
Thanks !
My back wheels will not move and I think it’s the back brakes but idk please show solution
Pads are too tight?
Idk can you make a video on it please??
@@adenfz coming soon.

You probably have this problem.
@@IvansBikesBmws so I was able to fix it because my V was stuck near the bike so it stoped it so I just had to pull it but thank you for trying to help!!
@@strangerthings_fan120 Glad to hear! Any other problems with your bike?
@@strangerthings_fan120bro I am having the same front one is okay but back one is stuck pls help me
Happy new 2024 everyone without bike problems!
thank you
You are welcome!
This didnt help me at all
The issue must be very complex. What is the issue with yours V brakes if I may ask?
@@IvansBikesBmws i removed the screws that are used to tighten the pads against the rim. Still the pads are right up against the rim. The wheel rotates with moderate force but without me applying rotational force the wheels do not rotate.
I got a new wheel and I am not sure if maybe I got the wrong size
But i used the same tire and inner tube as the last wheel which both fit perfectly so I dont understand
Your caliper cable is too tight. You gotta leave some slack there. 100% !
I pull my brakes and it brakes , but doesn't getback to its original position when i release them
@@vijaysundar2501 Your cable is fried somewhere. Pull it out and inspect it.
Do you have a video on how to pull it out and put in a new one?
@vijaysundar2501 No I don't, but you unscrew that bolt holding cable on the caliper and you yank out outer cable. Than you should see the condition. I bet 99% it is bent and you need a new one. So just take a picture how you have it and take it a part and put it back. Very simple.
Mine are stuck in the back
It is the same fix as the front.
Is it expensive to have these fixed or relatively reasonable?
@@mands1010 it is fairly cheap because it does not take that long to adjust.
@IvansBikesBmws great thank you for replying. Your page is really helpful 🤓👍
@mands1010 My pleasure and enjoy this summer cycling season.
you got to be kidding me! smh
No!
