Dude you wouldn't know how helpful you were. I am this introverted kid with a toxic parent who is too nervous to ask others for help because almost all of my friends are experts in stuff like this and that makes me insecure. This is the best thing I've ever came across ❤️❤️
Open up to your parent, lovingly but straightforwardly. No one has the right to be toxic. As to you being an introvert that is just reverse ego issues. Everyone has flaws, everyone had a starting point, everyone has a way to learn. Don't worry about criticism, develop your learning, perfect your system, laugh when you are ridiculous and aplaud when you conquer small barriers. But above all, surround yourself with people who bring you up rather than those who minimise you. Get rid of that ego that tells you you cannot be ridiculous or have flaws. Everyone has them, learning to break the cycle is the solution. Your life depends only on yourself, the real cool is to exercise that daily.
For my bike, the spring had come undone, and the cable housing was out of the barrel! I would never have spotted these two issues without the help of this video. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
I bought a bunch of bikes at a police auction and was unfamiliar with how to fix some of these problems. Thanks so much for this video. I have looked and looked on youtube and found nothing until this popped up. This answers about 85% of my questions. I will be saving this video for sure. Thanks again!!
Awesome Video bro. I rarely ever leave comments on videos but I had to leave one on yours ha ha. First off, thank you for getting right to the point and NOT explaining your whole life story. 2nd, thank you so much for explaining the most common problems/fixes with the braking system. This is the first video that actually helped me with the problems I have been dealing with forever. You need to do a presentation on how to properly post a video on UA-cam to these other knuckleheads who waste our time and don’t thoroughly explain what to do. IN Conclusion, Bravo to you.!! Awesome job on your video !!! Two thumbs up!!!
Thank you sir for teaching me how to adjust the brakes on my mountain bike. You are very helpful. You got to the point right away. Again thank you very much sir 🙏
Thanks for this, it gave me the confidence to adjust my 4 year old twins new bikes. The brake levers were so far from the handlebars they can barely reach them, let alone actually brake with them. I've now brought the levers in, reduced the spring tension, and lengthened the brake cables to compensate. Usually you want to tighten brakes :)
Awesome video bro, the bike shop guy asked me 60 dollars for fixing my brakes ..cost of my bike is 55 dollars.....after watching ur video was able to fix the brakes myself ...thank you 🎉
Excellent presentation. Not only was I able to balance both sides of the V brake with the instructions here but, by applying the general principles amply demonstrated in this succinct video, I was able to fix my kite, toilet paper roll (it got loose, sorta) and small nuclear reactor in my basement. THANKS!
In my case one side of the brakes dragged the rim so I went for the spring tension screw adjustment. Later I found out it didn't do anything because the tip of the spring inside the brake was bent out so the screw just slipped away. I took apart of the brake then bent the tip of the spring inward so it can engage with the screw. Now I'm very happy to fix this annoying problem!
my front breaks don't open back and the cable gets out of the barrel adjuster, i tried everything to fix it but nothing works ,can you give me some tips to fix it?
The best video, can be a bit slower and just a couple of better angle ( spring part and cable screw adjustment. This video could be broken in to two if it was a slower follow along . Yet this Is The Best Video I have seen! And I have watched and search a lot.👍💯
I've got a new bike and one arm of the v brake really stick. it sticks next to the wheel and then once you move it sticks away from the wheel. I adjusted spring tension using the little screw and it does nothing. Any ideas what it could be
Can you please explain to me how the cable stays in the break? I seat the brake cable in the lock, and tighten it and then it just pulls right out. I've replaced the brake lock and tried a different one and same problem....
Hey the video is super helpful but all this things are working to me but the pads don't have enough power to stop the wheel is there any chance you know why?
Thank you much for this very helpful video; I recently got a bike with this type of brake for the first time. When the brakes were askew, I knew something was wrong but it did not occur to me that the odd piece of wire sticking out was in fact a spring to balance the brake.
My problem isn't the spring at least I don't think so. When I use the front brake the pad rubs against the tire I have to manually pull it away from the tire what could that be?
So on my bike the rear V-brake is weird, when i turn to the right it brakes and when i turn left is doesnt but the brakes only work when i turn right and i still cannot seem to find the problem
The barrel adjuster is not working. I tighten it but the handle is loose. The wire is intact inside the handle. Why isn’t it tightening when I tighten the barrel adjuster?
The brake studs may need cleaning and lubrication. The brake pads may be worn unevenly, and getting wedged into the rim. Otherwise, it's a cable friction issue. Diagnosing the brake function with the cable detached is a good way to isolate the variables.
My pads may be worn unevenly, i tightened the cable , adjusted the screw , got them both to engage and as close as possible to the rim without rubbing it when brakes not applied but when i pull the brake handle i just don't have enough braking power, no metter how hard i press i can't lock up the wheel while riding it, i have to pull very hard both front and rear to get a somewhat decent braking

Everything looks good for me from this video.. BUT my brake pad won’t return from the wheel.. Any suggestions?

Well, this gave me something to noodle over!
Thank you for this you saved my marriage bro
Thank you, brother
Thsnk u sir

Do disk brakes need less or more maintenance than V brakes? Are adjustments on disk brakes just as "easy" as V brakes? Thanks
What do you think causes a slow or weak release? Brake spring in highest tension and cable is free
The brake studs may need cleaning and lubrication. The brake pads may be worn unevenly, and getting wedged into the rim.
Otherwise, it's a cable friction issue.
Diagnosing the brake function with the cable detached is a good way to isolate the variables.

Have same issue did you find a solution?
hi, my cable of the v-brake falls of from the place. how to adjust?
What do I do when the brake moves without input when the bike is in motion
how do I connect a rear brake on my 3 wheeler i have instruction book but cant follow ite
