But ...... but ....... I thought everyone knew that 'in space nobody can hear you ping!' 😉 Nice little tutorial; very useful. I like how open ended you made it, you just loaded the the non EQed tracks, one after another which is, as you said, made it very busy or cluttered which makes the person listening actually think about how to filter/EQ/mix and/or add effects to extend and finish the piece, which I believe is much more valuable than the more usual 'just do this' type tutorial. It helps one learn and use the process rather than produce something by rote.
@ pulled the studio apart at the moment, hopefully upgraded and back in service later. Got a great deal on a second hand Novation SL mk3. But it was too tall for my sliding shelf, doh! Live and learn mate.
This is an excellent tutorial, but I have one question. In the first instance of Vital you have a preset SEQ Stardrop. I can't find that in my collection of presets and I am just wondering is this a preset that you have created or, if not, where did you find it?
Hi - thank you for your kind comments. I don't recall exactly where this came from. There are many free Vital presets on the web and Chris at S1gns of Life gave some away but it was a while ago and I don't know which video 😢 But it's about the process , not the sounds 😊
I used to dabble in ambient stuff (nearly 20 years ago..got started with trackers, who remembers tracker software? 🤣) with the vst instruments from HG Fortune in Fruity Loops...anyone still use Fruity Loops?
I remember Trackers but didn't get on with them 😢 Fruity Loops is now FL Sttudio and has a good following I believe 👍 I discovered HGF a few years ago - amazing instruments but only 32-bit so I bought JBrisge to use them. Alas, upgraded my PC recently and have not reinstalled them. Happy days 😊
Ian really enjoyed the video but struggling to get your coupon link to work. I copied and pasted the link into my browser but just getting a list of links to various Soundpaint pages.
Thank you Douglas. Sorry about the link. It looks like Soundpaint changed the format. Now fixed and it should be clickable 👍 soundpaint.refr.cc/default/u/ianwaugh?s=sp&t=cp

Thank you very much. Yes, it was just about the process. All that mixing stuff would have got in the way 😄
Thanks, as usual, Ian..really enjoyed this..a nice little refresher. Much appreciated. 😉👍
Thank you, Dan, very kind 👍
Good walk through, Ian. Much appreciated. I especially benefit from the insights you interject throughout.
Thank you very much, so glad you found it useful 👍
This is an excellent tutorial, Ian. I'm really excited to try out some of these techniques - thanks for sharing!!
Glad you enjoyed it. Post a link here if you use it to produce a piece 👍
Awesome thanks for the lesson
Thanks, Paul, hope you found it useful 👍
Always a pleasure Ian, hope you’re well ✌️
Thank you. Chugging along as usual 😊 How's you?

@ new runners already fitted, everything going back together 😀

omg never even had heard of this vst. Wonderful
There's a lot of them out there 😊
Excellent. It’s the multicoloured nebula that really sells it.
I was hoping that might do the trick 😊
Hi Ian, cheers, I will give this a go, only I'll be using hardware though :)
Hi Tim - Good stuff! If you do a jam using the ideas, post us a link here 👍
@@IanWaugh if it is successful I will, I could fail though :)

You mean you don't just find a nice pad preset and hold random keys!? Blasphemy
🤣That's my next video 😄
Erm...that's exactly how I make my music vids! Random keys and preset surfing! 😂
